Cool looking bewery. The French fries were herby, covered in parmesan cheese, and freaking AMAZING! The meatball sandwich had a delicious sauce. The meatball to bread ratio was a little off with smaller meatballs. Service was super fast.

Order at counter, grab a number. Daily lunch special is really good here. It's available 11am-3pm. You get any personal pizza and small mixed greens for $15. The salad is very fresh. On this day, I tried the goat pizza. It was delicious. Goat cheese, prosciutto, arugula, caramelized onion, and balsamic glaze. Service was efficient, questions answered, great beer suggestions. I had the MoHazeIc Hazy IPA. It has tropical flavor, Mosaic hops. Easy to drink. Open dining room. Plenty of tables for large parties. Will be back again!

Highlights/Lowlights 1. Ample Gluten-Free and Non-Beer Options 2. Fun Vibe! 3. Good Food We had two hours to kill after arriving at the Portland airport before our friends arrived, a quick Google search let us to Migration Brewing. This was a 10-ish minute Uber from the airport. The space is really big with lots of room around the tables which was awesome, as we had our suitcases with us. There is outside space as well but it's really just a big tent set up in the parking lot with picnic tables. Nice to have the option to sit outside but there wasn't music or anything playing so a little quiet. For a brewery, we found the food menu impressive. Lots of pizza options, some salads, sandwiches and starters. We opted for the nachos with pulled pork. Food was good and the portion was generous! I appreciated that while the beer is the star of the show there were ample NA and non-beer options including Athletic Brewing, wine, and ciders. This is a great spot! Would recommend!

Stopped in for drink on our way home from a hike. The place is big and spacious. Seems like it would be good for groups. They also have a food menu and great selection of brews. Order at the bar find a seat and enjoy. We stopped in on a Friday in the middle of the day and it was pretty empty inside with just one person serving at the bar and some in the kitchen making pizza.

The beer is always good rarely great, but the service, food, and ambiance are top notch it's also not overly expensive. Solid place in the middle of not a lot of choices.

Look at that color and clarity!! Cannonball Red

Wow! I stumbled across this gem during training in Portland. The selection was awesome and they're a unique PNW brewery in that not EVERY SINGLE BEER was an IPA. Let's get real, IPA is a lazy man's beer like mac and cheese is a lazy dinner. The Cannonball Red was delectable, nice malty taste with the bite of hops complementing it like butter on a warm slice of bread. I tried a flight of their darker selections and the lemon cider, it blew my taste buds across the room. The lemon cider tasted like summertime with the familiar tang of the fruity carbonation of a wine cooler. The Frankenstout was a hearty, meaty meal in a glass, if you drink a full pint, your nutrition needs are met for the day. All in all, a very pleasant surprise to the end of a long day. I loved the industry chic of the environment, everything is very reasonably priced, and delicious. The service was excellent, the bartender was knowledgeable, even other customers were giving me recommendations on their favorites. Outstanding spot, I'm for sure coming back here again!!

Inside the Migration Brewing taproom at the Gresham location.

Gave Migration Brewing another whirl recently. This time at their Gresham location. Nice, spacious taproom that can take plenty of people or even host special occasions to some capacity. I had a wonderful Imperial Stout here. The Mexican Chocolate BA Westward Frankie is what I had and it was wonderful! Rich, dark, chocolaty with a hint of cinnamon and a slight kick this stout has everything going for it and easily qualifies in the "Mexican Chocolate" category. This beer has a higher ABV and so you serving is a tulip glass which is more than enough for this chocolate drinking decadence.

What a cool place... They were doing trivia the night I was in, which looked fun. The atmosphere is light and festive. The building is really cool and it has a unique location. The food menu is a little bit limited, so I had their calzone. Their calzone is a really nice size and delicious. The service is very limited so you have to order at the counter. But it is a cool place to eat in that area.

Totally bumped into this place by accident. Lots and lots of parking. It's a big space, they had a nice outdoor tented area but it was too cold to be outside. You order at the counter and they bring the food to the table. We ordered shoestring fries which were good, artichoke dip & chips was delicious. We also ordered a pizza, I wasn't such a fan, I like a firmer crust, this was just floppy and a little undercooked for my taste. Beer was yummy.

Beer is good... but an hour plus wait for Pretzel Twists and a small Caesar salad is absolutely ridiculous.

We were quickly seated which is great with a party of 13. My husband and i shared the french dip and onion rings which were both SO good!! The onion ring order was so large we ended up sharing with everyone in our group. Our waiter was great and made sure that we all had what we needed. My only suggestion is to let a large group know ahead of time that a 20% gratuity is automatically added to the bill.

Hood…read more As we had already had brunch a few hours earlier, we weren't exactly hungry, but wanted some beers. Mt. Hood Brewing looked promising, so we decided to stop by. It was also in the middle of a heat wave in OR, so we asked to sit outside. After my husband snagged our table, I brought our well-trained and well-behaved Siberian with us to the patio. There was another poorly-behaved dog, but my dog could not have cared any less, and it was far enough away that it didn't bother me too much either. The outdoor seating was minimal and basic, but did the job. Thankfully there was shade from the umbrellas. I put my dog in his "tuck" command under me as he is trained to do at restaurants, and proceeded to look at the menu. To be honest, the food looked pretty good, and also smelled pretty good, as I watched other patrons get their meals. However, we were still pretty stuffed, so we settled with a beer flight. The beers were out to our table pretty quickly, but after trying them, my husband and I came to the consensus that we expected more from the only brewing company in town. As another Yelper put it, the beers fell flat for us too. I was hoping there would be more/different notes to each beer, which is the whole point of sampling multiple, but they all seemed quite monotone. It started getting pretty warm underneath our umbrella, so we quickly wrapped up our beer flight and left. The view was gorgeous, and the location splendid (hence the 4 stars), and perhaps next time I'd be down to try one of their dishes, specifically the elkburger, but I was a little disappointed in the beer. I've been to plenty of breweries to enjoy beers there and also bought craft beers/growlers for home, so I'd like to say I'm decently versed in beer, but this missed the mark.

Parking is a bit of a pain as it's very limited street parking so you mostly likely need to find street parking further away and I parked a few blocks away. This is going to be typical of businesses in the downtown area. A group of 4 went last night on a Friday. It was so loud in there that it made it very difficult to order to our waitress without yelling. I tried to order two beers. One was their dreamweaver stout which I missed was only a 5 oz pour because it is listed at the very end of the description and in tiny font. Fine I was accepting of that. I then asked for the 5 oz pour followed by a 12 oz shortie of the Stonewarden. We also ordered the fried chicken sandwich which is $17 and didn't come with fries which are an extra $3. Our waitress returned with the 5 oz Dream Weaver but also a 5 oz Stonewarden. I told her I asked her for a 12 oz Stonewarden and said I didn't. I still wanted a 12 oz and she flat out said no she can't do that. She may have explained why but it was too darn loud to hear it. I looked up the menu which I posted a pic of and it didn't say anything about only being served in a 5 oz. It's half the ABV of the DreamWeaver. I don't know if these are brewery rules or what. It was my first order so it's not like I was being cut off. I honestly don't know why she flat out refused. This single experience tarnished my whole experience with SteepleJack last night and thus a 3 star. If these are brewery rules , it needs to be made more clear on the menus and maybe choose a bigger font or bold it or just somehow make it more noticeable. Anyway the food itself was delicious. Absolutely loved the chicken sandwich and fries. The rest of the service was good by our waitress and despite my meh experience, I chalked it up to brewery rules which aren't clearly stated anywhere and the loud noise. I still tipped her well as the service industry works hard and deserves, but with so many breweries in Portland to choose from, I may not consider Steeplejack a place I want to come back to for awhile.
