We were here for Sandy's Camo con, so it was a quick stop. Free popcorn was a nice addition. They have a few high top tables with TVs so you can watch the game. Cozy couch and games as well. Service with a smile as usual in Sandy.

We were in our way home from the Bigfoot museum and I said one more winery. When it's just me and my wife that's what we do. But with the kids even though 4 of 5 are adults, but have to limit my urges. We stopped here and it reminded me of a winery back home. They had both wine and beer on tap. I sampled 3 wines and a beer. I liked the Zinfandel, Mt. Hood IPA and the Coconut Cider. All very good. I had a glass of beer and we had a charcuterie board which was delicious. Our waitress was great. She stopped back often to check on us. She explained that they have been at this location for several years. The restrooms were in the area where they make the wine and beer. I love getting a look at others production area. Nice place to visit and relax. They have some games, nice stage in the back and a fun area to sit and enjoy wine or beer.

We were out near Boring, OR and decided to try out Boring Brewing on this beautiful Sunday afternoon. The brewery and joint winery are housed in a simple warehouse with inviting interior. There was plenty of indoor seating, but was a little confusing at first. There was only one person manning both wine bar and beer bar. We don't know much about Boring Brewing but it looks like it's a family-owned business. It's clean and friendly, and the bar tender was polite and nice to talk to. There's a nice big grassy outside sitting area in the back with a covered stage/seating area, bag boards, and more outside seating. The crowd of folks here ranges from 30-something-parents-with-children to the middle aged, and its very quiet but fun and family-oriented. Just for the location, quality of service and the amenities, I give this a 5/5 place. We ordered the hummus plate, which was filled with fresh crunchy veggies and delicious hummus. I would definitely recommend for a snack, and worth the price at $6-7. 5/5 for this. Now, the beer. We ordered a flight to get acquainted with their beer. We ordered the Big Yawn IPA, Boring Brown, Haimhausen, Lavender Ultra Pale Ale, and the Old Alzy. To be honest, my boyfriend and I are a little bit of beer snobs. The beer is fine - middle of the road. I was excited for the Lavender Ale, but it tasted like perfume. The Alzy has great aroma, but it's 3.5% ABV and tasted a little watered down. Overall, the Big Yawn IPA was the best out of the flight. We'd rate the beer 3/5 - with lots of potential. We enjoyed our time here and definitely recommend coming out and supporting this business. Bring your friends, family, kids, and in-laws - there's lots to do and it's in a nice facility and beautiful location. We're excited to see what this brewery has in store for their future.

We drove from Portland just for this place. We heard they had good beer and wanted to check it out. The outside is simple and it's tiny inside! (They are getting ready to move). We had a taster tray and tried most of his beers. They were good. My fav was the Big Yawn IPA. We sat for a good half hour and talked to the owner. He is such a nice guy and really cares about his business and his customers. I am excited to go back out and see what they do in their new space.

This place has such a great atmosphere. The people here are great to talk to and have great service. The beer is wonderful, this is the first flight I've had where I've pretty much enjoyed every single beer provided. A must see if your a fan of beer and beautiful scenery!

Stopped by the brand new location just off HW 26. It's still in finishing stages inside, but the back patio and beer garden are fantastic. We stopped by during a 35 mile ride on our bikes. As soon as we arrived, Bill (I think) popped out to let us know it was okay for us to take our bikes with us. After securing the bikes, we ordered the hoppy blonde and RyePA. Both were delicious beers, and Bill brought us some pretzels to snack on as we enjoyed the gorgeous weather outside. I went back for a second Rye, and he offered to fill our water bottles with fresh water for our ride back. Excellent beers, amazing patio, and located right along a bike path and on the way back from hood. Will definitely be stopping by after our outdoor adventures!

Ask the Community - Boring Brewing

Are dogs welcome?

Yes! Even saw a couple bring in their two ponies.

Are they 21 and over only or can minors come with their parents?

I'm pretty sure you can take the rug rats, but you should call to make sure.

Gave them two stars which is a direct violation of Yelp policy: rating a biz based solely on their opinion on how well the mandates are being applied. Educate thyself, child. I stop in here now and then more to support a local business and to socialize with friends than anything else. I'm sitting outside, in the fresh air, always at least 6' away from the wait staff. Do I care if they have a mask on? Nope. This is a nice little locally owned and operated business. They have a lot of weird beers (ciders, wines, etc) including some brands that I haven't had since I was in the Navy 60 years ago. They have a funky sort of vibe that I usually don't go for but in their case it just works. They are right on the main drag although the outside seating is off to the side. You can still hang around and watch the world go by, chatting with friends in this very friendly and welcoming environment. Better when it warms up, of course, else you'll find me inside. Sandy is a nice little working class burb in the middle of nowhere between Gresham and Mount Hood. Nice stop over if you're coming back off the mountain.

Great service, great drinks, and the best pizza I've had in decades!…read more The beers Backwoods makes are all delicious and smooth-drinking. The service staff was all exceptional. But the pizza! Off the charts!, FULL REVIEW of all Services: If anyone who enjoys hiking, river fishing, or just a general outdoor-focused vacation wants a good, simple getaway with their spouse/loved one, check out the Backwoods brand in Carson, Washington (just north-northeast of Bridge of the Gods/Cascades Locks). Backwoods Cabins offers a really great overnight stay option. The 8 cabins there are all basic "two-room" designs (bedroom and attached bathroom, and a living room / mini-kitchen room). The cabins sport king-sized beds, a gas fireplace and outdoor fire, a mini kitchen with refrigerator/freezer and microwave (no stove/range). I think 3 of the 8 cabins welcome dogs. The Backwoods brand also owns Backwoods Brewery, which is just across the road from the cabin property. They have great microbrew beers (from light lagers to GREAT stouts!). The brewery also has a smokehouse, with fantastic smoked brisket, pulled pork, and house-made sausage/brats. But even better, the Backwoods Brewery offers the BEST PIZZA I've had in decades. The pizza dough is a perfect balance of flavor and texture. It's not too thin and not too thick. The crust is chewy in the middle, with a great crusty edge and base. The red sauce (they also have a white sauce we didn't try) is thick and rich, with a few tomato chunks. It's got a slight spicy bite with a sweet finish. They also have some unique house pizzas. We tried the Whistle Punk - Red sauce, bacon, smoked brisket, peppadew peppers, sweet onions, fresh mozzarella rounds - and the Pepperoni Express - Red sauce, pepperoni, mushrooms, tomatoes, banana peppers, smoked mozzarella. Both were outstanding. I'd go so far as to say both Donna and I deemed these the best pizzas we've had in 35+ years (noting that our first date was at a pizza joint in Fife we both thought was the best-ever pizza). If you stay in the Backwoods Cabins, you get two coupons for free drinks at the brewery (beer/wine/cider/cocktails) as well as an assortment of snacks for your hiking adventures, and a full S'mores kit to use over the gas fire pit. And if you are in a dog-friendly cabin, you get complimentary treats, and water/food bowls for your canines.

Tried the Tree Hugger 10" GF pizza and it was genuinely tasty. The crust? So good. The staff? Kind. The price? About $20, which felt a little "ouch," but the pizza did not, and that's what matters. The place was fun and great ambiance. Take a fun trip and go try this place out.

Hood…read more As we had already had brunch a few hours earlier, we weren't exactly hungry, but wanted some beers. Mt. Hood Brewing looked promising, so we decided to stop by. It was also in the middle of a heat wave in OR, so we asked to sit outside. After my husband snagged our table, I brought our well-trained and well-behaved Siberian with us to the patio. There was another poorly-behaved dog, but my dog could not have cared any less, and it was far enough away that it didn't bother me too much either. The outdoor seating was minimal and basic, but did the job. Thankfully there was shade from the umbrellas. I put my dog in his "tuck" command under me as he is trained to do at restaurants, and proceeded to look at the menu. To be honest, the food looked pretty good, and also smelled pretty good, as I watched other patrons get their meals. However, we were still pretty stuffed, so we settled with a beer flight. The beers were out to our table pretty quickly, but after trying them, my husband and I came to the consensus that we expected more from the only brewing company in town. As another Yelper put it, the beers fell flat for us too. I was hoping there would be more/different notes to each beer, which is the whole point of sampling multiple, but they all seemed quite monotone. It started getting pretty warm underneath our umbrella, so we quickly wrapped up our beer flight and left. The view was gorgeous, and the location splendid (hence the 4 stars), and perhaps next time I'd be down to try one of their dishes, specifically the elkburger, but I was a little disappointed in the beer. I've been to plenty of breweries to enjoy beers there and also bought craft beers/growlers for home, so I'd like to say I'm decently versed in beer, but this missed the mark.

But it feels much more satisfying, rewarding and accomplishing as it obviously would by trying a beer from a brewery that I have been wanting to try... which leads us to one of my latest brewery experiences which is Silver Falls Brewery. In short it was a nice, refreshing one that hit the spot nicely. The elements in the flavors to look for are citrus, a juicy quality and a hoppiness presence. For example, there aren't many places in Silverton where diners can order étouffée, gumbo or jambalaya. Well, look no further as one of SFB's "bowl" dishes rotates between these three Cajun favorites. In addition, the menu also offers a number of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options for guests looking for something to suit their dietary needs. What I love most about Silver Falls Brewery is the many seating options. The restuarant has balcony seating, as well as an outdoor courtyard with a fair number of tables. In addition, the interior dining room has several large family-style tables that can accomodate large groups. This establishment does a fair amount of business during the spring and summer months when tourist activity is heavy, yet they somehow manage to swiftly seat, serve, and care for guests without compromising on service. The drinks are great, service comes with a smile, and I'm here for supporting local businesses that always shine brightly.

I had some fancy strawberry salad, and some homemade pretzels that were awesome! Both my sister and my mother had burgers, and they seemed happy with their choices. My one issue, which is no big deal really, is their up-charge for ordering a kid's burger for someone other than a kid... My mother is 89 years old, she can't put away a large burger, she wants something small. So, if we're pricing the burger based on its size, why does it matter who's eating it? ‍ To charge extra seems dishonest... I even pointed it out to the guy at the bar that it's for my 89-year-old mother, but did he care? Apparently not ‍ Nevertheless, that issue aside, it's a nice place for lunch. I think you'll enjoy the food as well. Prost!
