Loved this place. Cosy little place Our waiter was so nice. The ginger and carrot cream soup was really tasty. The steak was cooked to my medium rare liking . The unique thing about this place is that there's only 1 type of steak, that comes with the signature sauce. You can also tell them to put the sauce on the side. They also have different types of appetizers And they offer mushroom steak for ppl that dont eat meat. I fell in love with the bar, so pretty Would definitely recommend this place to everyone

The bone marrow with snails was also good, but the combination was a little weird. I liked the bone marrow. I liked the snails. But served together took away from enjoying each part on its own. The duck was roasted to perfection. The skin was so crispy and the meat just fell off the bone. Same goes for the braised veal cheeks. There was no bone to fall off of, but the meat was so tender and just came apart as soon as I pressed down with my knife. I can't wait to come back to try the Salle à Manger since it's a different menu. Foie gras parfait 8/10 Bone marrow, Burgundy snails 8/10 Braised veal cheeks 9/10 Duck confit 9/10

While the food was delicious, the overall experience fell just slightly short of what I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Service was the main area that didn't quite meet expectations. After being seated, we waited about 10 minutes before receiving menus and had to ask for them. Throughout the meal, interactions felt a bit rushed - several staff members who stopped by the table were somewhat brief, and on a few occasions, items like bread or water were dropped off while we tried to ask questions, but the busser had already walked away. That said, the restaurant was quite busy during lunch, so it's possible the pace and attentiveness were impacted by that. As for the food, we ordered the albacore tuna appetizer along with the strip loin, butcher's cut, and duck for our mains. Everything was well-prepared, though the duck portion was noticeably small. Desserts were a highlight - especially the pavlova with maracuya, which was excellent. Our server Laura was professional, though not very engaging until the very end of the meal when we were settling the bill. I would still return, as the food is strong, but I have to say that Bar George left a more lasting impression on us in terms of both food and service.

Our server was really good and the food was really good. We tried the non-alcoholic guava mule. The guava was nice and sweet and complimented the spicy of the ginger beer. We ordered a French onion soup, steak Diane, and a beef Wellington. The entrees came with choice of salad. We tried one of each , house Gibby salad and the blue cheese wedge. This was a lot of food for us. The French onion soup was my favorite, good flavor, lots of onions and that nice browned cheese top. Both salads were good, the house salad was a little lighter since the blue cheese wedge salad had a rich blue cheese dressing and bacon bits on top. The steak and beef Wellington was also good. In general, we ordered medium rare, it was a little bit rarer than I expected but not I'd edible. So something to think about if you need your meat to be cooked more. The prices seemed fair for a steakhouse and for the amount of food we ate.

We ordered a variety of things (including things we wouldn't usually order to try and enjoy the full experience). For $89 per 6oz serving, I expect the meat will be cooked perfectly and of top-notch quality. The bread served with escargot is hard and chewy; scallop soup is lumpy and lukewarm; the double down foie gras is just two pieces of hard bread which barely has any foie gras; duck breast sliced into 6 thin pieces serves with breakfast sausage; the meat is cold, covered by a gluey sauce; the presentation is disastrous. Asparagus is cold, and the cheese sauce on top is cold too. Maybe it's supposed to be cold? But it is weird to serve as a side of a meat course.

But before even checking in, we had to walk through Bar George ~ and instantly knew we wanted to eat there. We were lucky enough to grab a last-minute reservation, and Julien took a good care of us throughout the evening. His recommendation of the Beef Wellington was spot on (it's already one of our favorite dishes), but this was hands down the best we've ever had. I ordered the lobster risotto, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. My son had the 10 oz striploin steak with homemade fries (chips), and it was absolutely delicious. I also loved the Canadian touch of coarse salt on the steak, plus the option to choose between Béarnaise or peppercorn sauce. Julien also mentioned their pastry chef placed second in a NY competition, and the desserts absolutely lived up to that reputation. We tried the pineapple and coconut pavlova and the "lick me hazelnut" ~ both beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. We also ordered iced coffee and a latte, and noticed something interesting: this was the second place where we found Canadian coffee to be smooth and mild ~ such a nice change from the often bitter, over-roasted American coffee. Yes, dinner was a bit steep ($300+), but it was worth every penny. Between the rich history, stunning design, outstanding service, and unique cuisine, I would highly recommend Bar George. I would absolutely love to come back!!

My mom had come here once before, and the waitress remembered her by name and was incredibly gracious and patient as my mom explained her diet. As for the food, just WOW. The pomegranate salad was incredible, and we got the lamb, chicken, mushrooms... everything was so beautifully plated with vibrant colors and burst of many flavors. Each perfectly cooked. It's amazing how they can turn something as "simple" as mushrooms and chicken to be so incredibly delicious. We celebrated my mom's birthday here, and the ambiance was perfect for it. 10/10 would recommend this place, especially for anyone with allergies.

The menu is limited, but I appreciate the focus. They know what they do well and aren't afraid of perfecting it. We ordered the fraisier cocktail (vodka with aperol and strawberry sorbet on top) and the Mexican mojito (got a kick in the bottom of your throat spicy). Both really good and didn't skimp on the alcohol. I was very giddy by the time they brought the foie gras nigiri. This is why I wanted to eat here and am so glad they keep it on the menu! One order comes with 4 spoon servings, by the way. Add the soy ginger sauce because it cuts the fattiness just right. Oh là là! Decadent, smooth and buttery. Why don't more places serve foie gras like this? Genius! We got the pork chop, paparadelle pork ragu and a side of the salt and maple sugar fries. All were good, but the foie gras still had them beat. The fries had nice flavor, but we were really disappointed that we got the tail end of the fry basket. The bottom and middle of our order was all the broken bits. I felt a bit deceived. We got the pudding chomeur that people said was a classic dessert with a scoop of ice cream. It honestly was too sickly sweet. It's basically cake doused in a pool of maple sugar. So, if you love sweet sweet desserts, then the pudding is for you. We really should have ordered another foie gras for dessert. Do it for me when you go. I would come back for the cocktails and foie gras.
