One word to describe this restaurant: glamorous. It's got an old school feel with waiters wearing formal attire, a valet service, and the general ambience feeling like you're in a movie. Location wise is very interesting since you're in the Decarie highway area. But it's still packed regardless of the location. It's definitely one of the more expensive steakhouses in Montreal. But everything is cooked perfectly and super mouthwateringly delicious. It's a treat yourself kind of meal. They do have a table d'hôte service which makes it pretty worth it! I tried the filet mignonette with the foie gras and honestly it was incredible. I came in with very little expectations but wow was I blown away by this dish. Service is also very attentive! It seems they have regulars who they know by name.

Last time I came here was over 4 years ago!! Time for a new review ! Came here on a work meeting. Everything was splendid .. just don't understand their valet service and how it's mandatory even though you park 2 seconds away lol.. otherwise everything was perfect. Atmosphere: Excellent ! The place was very clean and elegant. Love coming here!! Service: A1 .. very professional and pleasant. Started with a few cocktails to warm up the mood. I had the piña collada very strong thankfully I like it strong haha. The food was delicious.. we enjoyed the complimentary bread sticks and bread buns with butter I had Rockefeller Oysters as an appi.. yum it was scrumptious ! Enjoyed the Caesar salad for 4. It was a whole show .. the waiter prepared the salad in front of us for everyone to see. It was a cool experience definitely fun to watch!! I tried to stay healthy and clean haha so definitely had to order grilled veggies, asparagus and mushrooms. I had some roast beef as a main and washed it down with more cocktails. I had no more room for desert but wanted to try a Brazilian Coffee maybe next time !! Overall, I had a fabulous time and will definitely be back soon Cheers

(Read as 3.5 out of 5 stars) This place is a throwback to my grandparents' generation when Decarie blvd. was THE place to be. While those days are LONG gone, you can still find yourself a decent meal here. Priced substantially higher than Gibbys and even Moishes, this steakhouse aims to portray itself as the height of luxury. The food, while good, can be moderately to obscenely overpriced depending on the menu item. The room was almost 3/4 packed on a Friday night. The clientele here is unique in terms of their demographics. There is very good people watching to be had here. You have a mix of young hustlers with their plastic surgery/trophy appendages, Ville St Laurent importer/exporter types, guys who once did well in the carpeting business, and Dick Tracy villains. You also have regular clientele just trying to enjoy a quiet dinner. Dinner starts with a very nice bread basket, pickles, and coleslaw all free of charge (or should I say included). They more than ding you charging 17$/shrimp in a shrimp cocktail. That would be 68$ plus tax and tip for a 4 shrimp cocktail. The waiter said they were very big. They looked like they were the size of my thumb. Calm down. There are many other examples of ridiculous prices here. A dozen oysters for 54$, 280$ seafood tower, a platter of 3 shrimp, calamari, 3 Rockefeller oysters, some octopus and vegetables for 120$. These dishes must appeal to those who get an ego boost from being able to throw away money just for the fun of it. For a relatively reasonable 32$ price tag, I split the caesar salad for 2 with my brother-in-law. It's a whole dog and pony show prepared table-side. They are essentially making a salad dressing by emulsifying the ingredients in a wooden bowl at the table. It takes about 8 minutes which is a bit awkward if you are trying to have a conversation in the presence of the salad guy. Ultimately, I found the salad tasted overwhelmingly of olive oil. As for capers, anchovies, cheese, bacon, and egg......I'm sure they were all there, but all I could taste was romaine and olive oil. For my main, I had the prime rib and a side of fries which will run you a combined 66$ dollars. The prime rib was absolutely delicious. Served in it's own juices and served medium rare as I requested, I polished off every ounce of the meat with a smile on my face. The plate comes with peas and a yorkshire pudding which was not prepared properly. It was dry and crispy on the outside, but lacked the chewy and moist inner filling that the authentic version of the dish must have. Fries were standard and good. They have valet parking even though the restaurant is literally located IN a parking lot overlooking the scenic Decarie expressway. Finally, in case the company credit card needs a further workout, there is a cigar room where you can light up one of their overpriced cigars to go with your scotch and cognac. Not a bad gig if you can get it. That said, Gibby's reputation as the gold standard for steakhouses in Montreal is still very much intact.

Food was good but price too expensive for the quantity we got. We ordered 1lb lobster for 140$ but got a small bowl so we were very dissapointed. Next time will buy at supermarket or seafood market and cook it ourselves. Luckily we ordered side dishes to keep us a bit full.

We went here before the lockdown, restaurant was extremely packed, we had to wait awhile for them to setup a new table for us. Service was very slow but it's understandable because of how busy the restaurant was. I ordered dry-aged steak. Which was perfectly cooked to my liking and tasted delicious. My partner ordered giant grilled shrimps. Which were also very flavourful and delicious. I really enjoyed my experience but probably would've enjoyed it even more if the restaurant wasn't super packed.

Perfect place for my first meal (ever) in Montreal. Upon arriving, we checked in with the hostesses and got seated right away. Coat check is complimentary but we opted to keep our since we were still chilly from being outside. An assortment of bread, sides of pickles, and some type of Cole slaw arrived on our table right away. I've never seen pickles served at steakhouses before (in the US) so this threw me off :) My husband ordered a gin martini which he enjoyed (he got more later). I started with probably the best lobster bisque I've ever had. I mean there were huge chunks of lobster claw meat in it. I struggled with my spoon to break it down lol. My husband enjoyed his wedge salad with lots of real bacon bits. Later, we shared the tamarind and maple bacon starter and it's not bacon, it's huge chunks of pork belly! Sooooon good! As for entree, I got the "junior cut" rib steak which was huuuuge with truffle butter on top. My husband got the filet mignon. It came with roasted garlic on the side which was delicious but skip this if you're on a first date here ;) We also shared a side of mushrooms which was also delicious. We were too full for dessert and I was becoming so sleepy so I opted for cappuccino. The service was top notch for beginning to end. I definitely recommend this place.

From start to finish everything was incredible. From the service to the atmosphere to the incredible tasting meal. Always love coming, never ever leave disappointed. Caesar salad which is prepared in front of you is fantastic. No other restaurant can compare. Had the tuna (made to perfection and melt in your mouth)

While the food was delicious, the overall experience fell just slightly short of what I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Service was the main area that didn't quite meet expectations. After being seated, we waited about 10 minutes before receiving menus and had to ask for them. Throughout the meal, interactions felt a bit rushed - several staff members who stopped by the table were somewhat brief, and on a few occasions, items like bread or water were dropped off while we tried to ask questions, but the busser had already walked away. That said, the restaurant was quite busy during lunch, so it's possible the pace and attentiveness were impacted by that. As for the food, we ordered the albacore tuna appetizer along with the strip loin, butcher's cut, and duck for our mains. Everything was well-prepared, though the duck portion was noticeably small. Desserts were a highlight - especially the pavlova with maracuya, which was excellent. Our server Laura was professional, though not very engaging until the very end of the meal when we were settling the bill. I would still return, as the food is strong, but I have to say that Bar George left a more lasting impression on us in terms of both food and service.

Our server was really good and the food was really good. We tried the non-alcoholic guava mule. The guava was nice and sweet and complimented the spicy of the ginger beer. We ordered a French onion soup, steak Diane, and a beef Wellington. The entrees came with choice of salad. We tried one of each , house Gibby salad and the blue cheese wedge. This was a lot of food for us. The French onion soup was my favorite, good flavor, lots of onions and that nice browned cheese top. Both salads were good, the house salad was a little lighter since the blue cheese wedge salad had a rich blue cheese dressing and bacon bits on top. The steak and beef Wellington was also good. In general, we ordered medium rare, it was a little bit rarer than I expected but not I'd edible. So something to think about if you need your meat to be cooked more. The prices seemed fair for a steakhouse and for the amount of food we ate.

We were lucky enough to grab a last-minute reservation, and Julien took a good care of us throughout the evening. His recommendation of the Beef Wellington was spot on (it's already one of our favorite dishes), but this was hands down the best we've ever had. I ordered the lobster risotto, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. My son had the 10 oz striploin steak with homemade fries (chips), and it was absolutely delicious. I also loved the Canadian touch of coarse salt on the steak, plus the option to choose between Béarnaise or peppercorn sauce. Julien also mentioned their pastry chef placed second in a NY competition, and the desserts absolutely lived up to that reputation. We tried the pineapple and coconut pavlova and the "lick me hazelnut" ~ both beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. The menu is limited, but I appreciate the focus. They know what they do well and aren't afraid of perfecting it. Both really good and didn't skimp on the alcohol. I was very giddy by the time they brought the foie gras nigiri. This is why I wanted to eat here and am so glad they keep it on the menu! One order comes with 4 spoon servings, by the way. Add the soy ginger sauce because it cuts the fattiness just right. Oh là là! Decadent, smooth and buttery. Why don't more places serve foie gras like this? Genius! We got the pork chop, paparadelle pork ragu and a side of the salt and maple sugar fries. All were good, but the foie gras still had them beat. The fries had nice flavor, but we were really disappointed that we got the tail end of the fry basket. The bottom and middle of our order was all the broken bits. I felt a bit deceived. We got the pudding chomeur that people said was a classic dessert with a scoop of ice cream. It honestly was too sickly sweet. It's basically cake doused in a pool of maple sugar. So, if you love sweet sweet desserts, then the pudding is for you. We really should have ordered another foie gras for dessert. Do it for me when you go. I would come back for the cocktails and foie gras.

We tried: - complimentary bread, butter, pickles, mustard. I loved this. Never saw another restaurant plop down mustard and pickles. The mustard was also possibly the most delicious mustard I've ever had. Very spicy and slightly salty - Duck confit on beans $37. Tasty, crispy, rich. - Grilled octopus on pepper sauce with potatos $24. Really tender and flavourful. The sauce was bright and acidic - Sorrel soup $13.75. First time having sorrel. It has a slightly sour taste. The soup was creamy and tangy. I'm glad we tried it - Quail with quail eggs on purple rice $37.50. Quail itself wasn't as flavourful but the sauce was amazing and soaked into the rice - Creme brulee $15. Flavour was impeccable. Had a slight grainy texture which was odd but this is just nit picking. Comes with a warm cookie Everything was good. I'm being more nitpicky here than usual, mostly to go back to these notes again in the future. I loved the meal and would definitely go back. Service is very friendly. Food came out super fast. I dined with four other people and everyone ordered something different and there was zero disappointments. I however, would highly recommend their duck entrée meat was so tender and flavorful, and it was perfectly crisp on the outside. Ultimately my best dining experience in Montreal!
