Excellent food, service and atmosphere! Our server Jack was great! Ordering was easy and he made sure we were taken care of! Brisket was spot on and ribs were perfect! Excellent sides! Cornbread was delicious!

I heard this was a new barbecue spot in Norwalk, CT so my wife and I decided to have lunch. We were greeted by the host and quickly seated with no waiting but then again there were hardly any customers. We ordered as the waitress suggested ribs and brisket. The waitress was very nice. Although the inside of the restaurant was open and spacious, unfortunately most of the food we'd ordered was definitely not what we'd expected. The brisket had gobs of fat. I'd expected to have some meat but nope. There was only 3-4 small slices and most of it was fat so had to toss it. The entree had a couple slices of pickles and a tiny cup of slaw (maybe two teaspoons). Come on man be a bit more generous? Definitely not impressed. Baked beans and fries were just ok - bland if I'm being completely honest. Luckily my wife ordered ribs so she was able to share with me. Most of the ribs were good but some had fat around them. The taste was ok and much better than the brisket. When the waitress asked how was the food, I was honest and told her the brisket had a lot of fat. She replied " there are two ways to order the brisket, you can order it with fat or more meat". I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I wanted a barbecue meat entree not a fatty dish. Please review photos of the small fatty brisket entree. Definitely not worth the $$$. Pretty sad that I spent $70.00 + for barbecue lunch but most of it wasn't enjoyable. Oh by the way, no corn bread with the entree - you get a thick slice of white bread. Will we return back? A big no thanks !

Went back a second time and the half chicken was very dry. Stick to the brisket and pulled pork! Cornbread was good but nothing special. Will order a different starter next time. Brussel sprouts were very good!

2 meat platter. Brisket Spare Ribs. Fries were extra

We both had a 2 meat platters. Brisket, Ribs, and Chicken were too dry. We won't be back, but you should try it.

And that is $90.00 worth????? Okay, I'm missing the sides, but come on.

The taste of the food was there, but the food was not really hot when served, the portion of the 3 meats, 3 sides was very small for the price $90, not even enough for two adults. Served with some texas toast, for that money you should get the cornbread and not to have to order separately. Will not go again, sorry.

Well was there for my niece bday dinner. We ordered drinks they were great and pricey $15.00. Then we got our order in my sister got brisket sandwich with salad and it was small portion and over cooked. My niece got the same but with fries and the same over cooked, small portion and no flavor. My nephew got a smash burger kind of bland. And mine bowl was good but the protein chicken had no flavor and had to add spices sause to give it something. Then we shared the dessert and that was great. So I know they just opened but it's not there first rodeo. Also they don't do take out.

Meat was dry and service was meh. The ambiance wasn't comfortable a mixture of droning repetitive music with a lot of bass and bad lighting.

We first discovered Coals when they had locations in New York. After those closed, we happily started making the trip to Connecticut because nothing else compares. We've even celebrated special occasions here because the restaurant is spacious, welcoming, and has such a great atmosphere. The service is second to none. The owners are incredibly kind and welcoming, and the waitstaff is always friendly, attentive, and excellent. Coals is always worth the trip, and we can't recommend it enough!

My mom had insisted on going here on Mother's Day. Fortunately, their Connecticut location was open and we went. Bianca, I believe as a manager and was super accommodating with my mom's 100 questions haha. We started with one of the salads and the brussels sprouts. Both were great, but the brussels sprouts stood out to me. As for the pizza, we got the Margherita, Rustic, & Bayside. All of them were great, but the Bayside had to be my favorite. The pistachio pesto and goat cheese went very well together. The Rustic was a close runner up- mushrooms and truffle oil are always a match made in heaven. The Margherita was a classic but with the style of super thin, almost cracker-thin pizza I preferred the other two more. All in all, my family and I would definitely make it out to Norwalk again just for this place (& we live in Long Island). Thanks Bianca for making my Mom's day!

When I moved in the area I knew that i would have a staple food place. I was mailed coupons after I became a resident allowing me to dine at the 3 places with very decant discounts to other other locations that I was unaware of. What a blessing and treat! To make a long story short, I never used the discounts until I tried each place, GLADLY going back to East Norwalk and BJ Banc. I have been back a lot, Now to Main street. Yes, a Monday with a Skelton staff tonight on July 27.. meaning they were DEAD on arrival. They was one man at the bar at 6:45 dining when I came in... I was not greeted for a bit and the barkeep, Heather I think, was very less than enthusiastic. I ordered a Pub Burger, always a good start with Onion ring side. The sides are relatively expensive to the entree, this being a burger. $6.00 for Onion Rings? Having lived in Manhattan for my 69 years I said well go for it. 6 quarter size burnt onion left overs from another order were placed in front of me. I said to her, this is $6 Onion Rings? Without a word spoken she was in the kitchen and in NO tome... 6 Onion Sized Rings were produced under cooked. The Burger. I aske for RARE to Medium being pink.... it came out DEAD! No customers, no dialogue as she was on her cell, I spent over $40 including 2 beers . I am saddened as I like this place. Why be open every day of the week, with bad staff, not being engaging and poorly served food. Open 365 may be for those that are desperate.. I am not. But I want the Main St BJ to be what I remembered and the standard of East Norwalk and Banc. I would gladly post my name here because this review is meant to be a retrospect of something that I feel is the poor sister. I wish someone would be in touch with me... you are losing steam on this one.
