Mighty bread was perhaps the most exhilerating of my social eats this Monday. You enter the establishment to a very iconic motley south philly crew. A loaf of bread will run you at minimum $7. However, this is the kind of bread that will slice the roof of your mouth if you're not careful. 10/10 experience. These guys also have a liquor license and breakfast sandwiches among tinned fish, olive oil, and other bread-related garnishes. amazing neighborhood bakery with the best sourdough bread! i've eaten so much of mighty bread's creations at different establishments throughout philly, but this is my first time at the main storefront. i have been to the grab-and-go in the past, but it doesn't even compare. my boyfriend and i came by on a friday afternoon to grab a bite and do some work. we sat in the outdoor courtyard/patio area with our dog, which is a great pet-friendly option. the store also has plenty of seating inside for people dining in. the coffee here is ok, nothing special but the bread is absolutely the star of the show. i definitely want to come back to try their sandwiches and other creations. i also didn't know they had apertivo, but it looked amazing and i definitely want to come back for that as well. read more

We enjoy visiting Mighty Bread while the kids are playing at Columbus Square park. They are very popular, so there is often a wait on weekends when you visit past 9 AM...but I think it's worth the wait. They serve great breakfast sandwiches and awesome coffee drinks. The candied nut flavored iced latte is one of my favorites in the city. We love trying their donuts - today we enjoyed the grasshopper (mint and chocolate) and olive oil donut. Finally had the opportunity to try Mighty Bread and though the line ~11:45AM on a Saturday was out the door and the order took ~20 minutes to fill, the wait was worth it for: - A delicious Marilyn's Meatball sandwich (perfect sesame-seed hoagie roll!), - An awesome rye chocolate chip cookie (not too sweet!), - A terrifically sourdough-y Corn Porridge Sourdough bread (perfect with homemade soup!), and - A solid Italian hoagie (sesame ciabatta, our hoagie spread, gabagool, prosciutto cotto, salami, provolone, shredduce, onion, peperoncini vinaigrette). The L-shaped line goes past shelves of local merchandise, which is fun to peruse or indulge in and the bakery options are beautifully tempting (will need to return to try more!). Overall good food - personally I found the sandwich to be a bit too "eggy" but that's a me problem, my husband enjoyed it. The Mighty Bread Bakery & Café is an excellent addition to the neighborhood. Ambience: small quaint location that is great for friends and family. The morning rush was real. Literally, the line was out the door. Food & Products: All of their muffins and croissants are fresh and flavorful. They have a nice variety of bakery goods, and my children even fell in love with the bakery buddy plushy. My wife and I even purchased a cutting board that would be a great addition to our kitchen. This is actually one of my favorite places in Philly. I don't say that lightly. This is a town full of good food, but Mighty Bread is phenomenal. Get over here. My friend lives nearby and brought a couple of us in here with a plan to get some meat, some cheese, and a loaf of their excellent bread for a little fancy brunch. We walked out with ALL THE THINGS. There was a line around the beautiful, bright shop (with lots of good seating) which walks you by all sorts of fun and delicious items for purchase, and we couldn't resist. In addition to the meat/cheese/bread, we also got: The Sungold Panzanella - bread salad from the bread place is a no brainer. The Big Lil' Biscuit - quite possibly the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. It's a truly incredible buttery biscuit with smoked cheddar, bacon jam, egg, and ketchup gastrique. The fanciest bacon egg and cheese, and goddamn was it good. The Italian Hoagie - simply a perfect Italian combo on fresh sesame ciabatta. It's got all the meats and cheeses, but also something called hoagie spread, shredduce (I appreciate the economy of this word), and a peperoncini vinaigrette that ties it all together. This sandwich lives in my dreams. All of these things are incredible, and we also grabbed a yogurt parfait (excellent), a quiche, temporary bread tattoos for my kids, some avocado for my kids, and this was me using restraint (not getting the logs of cookie dough, or another sandwich. They are located at the former J'aime Bakery in Rittenhouse (corner of 17th and Pine). They just opened this location, and I went around 2pm and they were all sold out of their bread Instead I bought tahini blondie, rye chocolate chip cookie, and oat chocolate cookie. Mighty bread is a great bakery hidden away on a side street. They have some tables inside as well as a courtyard outside with seating. There is a market goods section with all sorts of food items, ingredients, or merch and gifts for sale. Many selections are available here to choose from for breakfast, lunch, a tasty treat, or drinks. Pretty busy but the line moves quick enough. The apple cheddar sandwich was delicious, most notably the bread. Apples sliced perfectly with a sharp cheddar and a sweet mustard spread, the perfect size for a nice lunch. As always, mighty bread company amazes me! I got a scrambo plate this time and you can taste the quality of the ingredients. The turkey sausage was incredibly moist and flavorful, the potatoes crispy and divine, the eggs were fluffy (and the color, a deep orange, I know they source their eggs locally!) and of course, the best bread. I have been wanting to try Mighty Bread for FOREVER and finally got myself there this morning. My very cool, very fun, very awesome friend Isabel works here, so I knew the vibes would be (almost) as cool, fun, and awesome. The smell of this place is special, as are the cute market products, the seating availability, and the menu. I tried the chocolate chip cookie and the quiche. The only thing I have to say is how dare you? The cookie was fabulous - super soft and I loved the salty center. But the quiche is the best I've ever had. I went with the seasonal option that had asparagus and goat cheese. Mind blown. Incredibly flakey crust, sumptuous fillings, all around incredible MOUTH EXPERIENCE. I knew I would love it, it was just a matter of when I could finally get here. They serve Herman's coffee (my fave) so their cold brew was excellent, no surprises there. Wow, this place amazing can't say enough about it. I found it while looking for a breakfast/brunch place for my boyfriend and I while we are visiting in Philly. It was in the neighborhood. Walkable had high ratings and we were hungry so we decided to check it out. He got the pickle ham and butter sandwich and I end up getting Italian both delectable amazing so much so that my boyfriend has now since tried to re-create the sandwich back home the only Know that I would give is, I wish they had the option of jam because I would've gotten the prosciutto and mozzarella sandwich with fig as opposed to pesto this place was amazing. The bread was super crunchy and the mustard was such a nice complement to the apples and meat. Also got the tozzino. Not usually a huge focaccia fan, but this was quite nice and the soppresatta was great. Always going to love burrata and this was done well. Finally, grabbed a tomato bread with cheese which was like a mini pizza and excellent-the crust was delectable. Grabbed some of the pastries to go, all of which looked amazing. We came at a good point as we were able to snag a table but I can see it being difficult when it gets busy. Line moves quickly and the service is fast. Would definitely come back. Came here for lunch. Small bakery and when we got there at 11am was quite busy with almost all seating inside taken. They offer their fresh breads, some pastries and sandwiches. I tried their sourdough bread and it was excellent. We also tried the egg sandwich (nice job on the eggs) and the Italian (wasn't that impressed with it given the price of 16$...). Another quality Bread place, both Mighty Bread and Dead King are here to stay. Quality food beyond bread products. The quiche special w all vegetables was flavorful and probably vegetarian. The side salad provided was fresh . The bread is served fresh. The creamsicle soda is made In-house and not from a bottle- I just wish it had more creamsicle flavor but I love that they would even attempt such a feat for a special. Black cherry pistachio pastry is not something I have run into and the combination has a nice cherry flavoring w real pistachios sprinkled on. The salted latte was fine but it's hard to compete with salted latte that are don with a burnt technique. Caphe and probably Almost General win for this drink. While there was seating left, there wasn't a lot. Noise level is probably average here. The cashier who saw my shirt recognized that Neverhood has similar graphics to Earthworm Jim. I'm here just to review the Mighty Bird - Mighty Bread's Thanksgiving Gobbler. Inexplicably, the sandwich is cold. Ice cold. I was dumbfounded when I took a bite. A Thanksgiving sandwich that wasn't even lukewarm? Insanity. You know that feeling when your socks get wet in your shoes? That's what this sandwich felt like. Great ingredients, sure. The cafe/bakery is inviting, open and airy, and abuzz with Sunday afternoon brunchers. The wait in line to order went quickly as my friend and I ogled all if the delectable looking breads in the case alongside the queue. Temptation all over, especially if you're a bread lover like me! Service 5/5 All of the servers at Mighty Bread were friendly and attentive, and working like busy bees to keep the flow going. (Just a note: the way it works here is you wait on line to order, find a seat, and they bring your order when it's ready.) The Food 5/5 Finally, I knew straight away from the crowd that the food was going to be amazing, and I was right. I ordered a prosciutto mozzarella sandwich on a sesame ciabatta roll and it was out of this world delicious, fresh and satisfying, too. To say that this was a hard choice from the other items on their tempting menu is an understatement! My buddy opted for the breakfast sandwich, with eggs, sharp cheddar, peperonata, and arugula on a sweet potato brioche, which he loved, as well. It doesn't get better than fresh baked bread, pastries, and pizza. To top of it making some of your sandwiches and dishes WITH your fresh baked bread!? C'mon man you can't make this up lol. This place has been on my mind since coming here. So much so that I went right back a day or two later! I plan on trying everything on the menu. Came to this bakery with a group of hungry friends after hearing so many good reviews. It did not disappoint! We shared several different baked goods (as seen in the photo). My favorites were the jelly donut and the ricotta orange tea cake (so moist!). They were absolutely delicious! Mighty Bread is an amazing bakery, but it's more than that. It focuses on natural fermentation and makes some amazing sourdough products. It has seating inside, but it also has a lovely enclosed patio, where we sat when enjoying some doughnuts this past Saturday. Their menu changes depending on whether you're visiting on a weekday or the weekend, but they make a little bit of everything: sandwiches (with their freshly made bread), toasts, salads, biscuit and egg sandwiches, breads (country sourdoughs, polenta loaves, ciabatta, sandwich loaves...even a chocolate sourdough on weekends!), and pastry items (croissants, morning buns, danishes, and more). We stuck to donuts (which they make on the weekends) when we visited on Saturday. Their flavors ranged from classic (cinnamon and sugar) to really creative, but it's their sourdough base for the donuts that really sold me. They're light and airy and delicious. The service was great, too. So - just a great experience. What a bakery! I definitely want to return and try more! read more
