Denis verified that the range fan and air duct worked OK. However, he did not investigate any further. He did not test the smoke detectors upstairs and downstairs. He did not examine the HVAC duct. He did not perform any test (such as a smoke candle test) to determine if there was a leak in the HVAC duct. He just walked away from the problem. He offered no solution or directions to his clients. Issue #2. Master Bathroom Air Vent. Denis turned the fan ON for 10 minutes but didn't observe any brown fluid dripping onto the tile floor. He did not bother to investigate any further. He was clueless. He did not know what caused the brown fluid to drain from the air vent. He just walked away from the problem. He offered no real solution or directions to his clients. He proposed to replace the ceiling exhaust fan only because he wanted to seize the opportunity to make more money. The investigation Denis performed was something that I or any other layperson could do hands down. He made $200 for 30 minutes of his time. His service is of little or no value to me. I am not satisfied at all with his work. He was incompetent. While Denis made his easy money of $200 on his so-called investigation, his actions demonstrated that he was not motivated to help his client solve a problem. He was focused on installing new parts to rake in sky-high profits. He walked away from Issue #1 and submitted a bid for Issue #2. But did he understand what went wrong with either Issue #1 or #2? No. He did not have a clue. Case in point. For Issue #1, he walked away. For Issue #2, he submitted a bid of $550 to replace a simple bathroom ceiling exhaust fan. It was way overpriced. A new fan costs about $50. In other words, he slaps a $500 labor charge for 30 minutes of his precious time. His billing rate of $500 per half hour or $1,000 per hour is far higher than the common attorney billing rate of $300 or $400 per hour. Denis is completely out of line and out of his mind. I rate Denis 1 out of 5 stars. I would rate him zero stars on Yelp if I could.

Will is a stand up guy, he is nice, polite, easy to work with, answers your calls promptly, is on time, and keeps his word! the only thing that could of made our experience better is if Will educated us more about the different designs of decks and told us all our options -- it would be nice to have known about why picture framing is important to hide the cut ends of the deck and that fascia isn't included and is extra. Our Hardie Board…read moresiding contractor referred Eugene to us when we needed major deck work, which involved our existing waterproof membrane on a large section of our upper deck over a downstairs room, as well as repairing our deck boards and railing. Eugene was patient and thoughtful as we discussed various options to maintain and protect the waterproof membrane and strengthen the structural integrity of our expansive decks on a hillside. He was mindful of our budget and, as a general contractor, identified and repaired another area in our crawlspace. He came up with creative solutions, and he has a great sense of design and style. We ended up replacing our upper deck with Trex composite boards. On the lower deck, his crew replaced most of the redwood boards and repainted the deck, even the wooden joists of the upper deck, for both wood preservation and aesthetic purposes. His crew paid attention to details. He also did the stone facing on our portico. Eugene went above and beyond. He's honest, experienced, and pleasant to work with.
