I needed an over the range microwave installed. Home Depot was suppose to install it but they would not drill into tiles for a new bracket and just ended up dropping it off. I called for 3 estimates and Denis got right back to me. I never got quotes from the other 2 businesses. Denis scheduled it for the next day. He came out and measured everything and said it would be no problem. It turned out great and I am very satisfied. I actually gave him another project to bid. read more

Denis was perfect for helping install my doggy door through the wall! He gave me two quotes: one if electrical needed to be moved, and one if electrical could stay as is. Fortunately the electrical did not need to be moved, and the price was very reasonable for the job. When he finished installing the door, he caulked around the edges to make sure the installation was seamless. He was professional, timely, and did a wonderful job. I am super happy with how everything turned out! read more

Denis was an excellent drywall patching, texturizing, and painting contractor. I had a dozen large holes throughout my 1955 house in S. Land Park Hills after I had all of the plumbing replaced with copper pipes. Denis patched every hole perfectly, texturized and matched the paint color exactly. You would never even know patching took place. He also repaired an air vent pipe that I didn't know was disconnected. Thanks Denis! read more

Denis did some work on my house yesterday. I have over 40 years experience in construction and I'm not easily impressed but Denis delivered much more than I expected. The work he did was as good maybe even better then what I would have done years ago when I still could. Dennis has a broad skill set. He is a knowledgeable and skilled carpenter and electrician. He is polite and made my wife and I feel that he wanted to do the very best work possible for us and he did. We are making a list of projects for him to do. I was reluctant to write too good of a review because I don't want him to get too busy to do my projects but fair is fair and Denis deserves the recognition. You will not find a better craftsman at any price. read more

Here is my experience in April 2024 having Denis Handyman Services do some repair work on my home. Issue #1. Kitchen "Smell & Oven Smoke" issue. Denis verified that the range fan and air duct worked OK. However, he did not investigate any further. He did not test the smoke detectors upstairs and downstairs. He did not examine the HVAC duct. He did not perform any test (such as a smoke candle test) to determine if there was a leak in the HVAC duct. He just walked away from the problem. He offered no solution or directions to his clients. Issue #2. Master Bathroom Air Vent. Denis turned the fan ON for 10 minutes but didn't observe any brown fluid dripping onto the tile floor. He did not bother to investigate any further. He was clueless. He did not know what caused the brown fluid to drain from the air vent. He just walked away from the problem. He offered no real solution or directions to his clients. He proposed to replace the ceiling exhaust fan only because he wanted to seize the opportunity to make more money. The investigation Denis performed was something that I or any other layperson could do hands down. He made $200 for 30 minutes of his time. His service is of little or no value to me. I am not satisfied at all with his work. He was incompetent. While Denis made his easy money of $200 on his so-called investigation, his actions demonstrated that he was not motivated to help his client solve a problem. He was focused on installing new parts to rake in sky-high profits. He walked away from Issue #1 and submitted a bid for Issue #2. But did he understand what went wrong with either Issue #1 or #2? No. He did not have a clue. Case in point. For Issue #1, he walked away. For Issue #2, he submitted a bid of $550 to replace a simple bathroom ceiling exhaust fan. It was way overpriced. A new fan costs about $50. In other words, he slaps a $500 labor charge for 30 minutes of his precious time. His billing rate of $500 per half hour or $1,000 per hour is far higher than the common attorney billing rate of $300 or $400 per hour. Denis is completely out of line and out of his mind. I rate Denis 1 out of 5 stars. I would rate him zero stars on Yelp if I could. read more

Quick reply and excellent services. Thank you!

Denis did some dry wall work in a small cramped Jack and Jill bathroom. He did all his measurements, layout of his materials and any work with water outside and honored our no shoes in the policy. I Think I should have negotiated a slightly better price but he definitely came in competitive with all other bids. He was friendly, efficient, and definitely knew what he was doing. I asked him about some other work and he was very transparent about what he did well and would not step out of his areas of expertise. I would definitely hire him again. read more

I'm sorry but a $200 fee just to change 4 batteries seems extremely high. i'm supplying the batteries and ladder and you are supplying the leg work. I guess your time is really valuable. I read your response. As it turned out, my daughter changed the batteries for me and when I told her about our discussion she mention she had used you for a project and was happy with your work. She didn't use you for the second project she needed done because she felt the pricing was out of line. Again, that might have been a case of your minimum fees. Im sorry I couldn't use you for this project but can see others that appreciate the work you have done. read more

I've used Denis twice now. Both times were great experience. A few weeks ago Denis performed several fence repairs: removed a fallen limb and replaced the damaged fence panel. This included cutting up the fallen limb and neatly stacking it out of the way. He also repaired a broken cross member from another fallen tree. Additionally Denis corrected an improperly installed fencing panel and bolstered a couple other areas of fence. Denis and his assistant were here when scheduled to be here work was completed quickly. All work is sturdy and well done. All mess was cleaned up and receipts for materials provided. Great job. Yesterday I had Denis mount smoke detectors for me. I needed it done quickly and neatly. I was not disappointed. Denis is very professional and personable. Shows up as scheduled. All communications were timely and clear. I will keep Denis on my speed dial. read more

Denis just finished replacing some drywall in our laundry room. He was very responsive during the bidding and scheduling process, and arrived on time this morning. It only took him a couple of hours to finish the work, which looks great, and he cleaned all the areas he worked in after he was done. To top it all off, his was the most affordable of the 3 bids we got. We will definitely use him again in the future. read more

Excellent communication and very meticulous with the projects he does. I highly recommend!

If I could give 10 stars I would. To find someone like Denis is a miracle these days. His work is top notch, he is reliable and works fast but efficiently, and he's a very pleasant, calm person. He did a wide variety of handyman jobs for us including painting, repairs to closet doors, check smoke detectors, repaired a fireplace door, hang pictures, moved furniture, and more. Highly recommend him and we will have him back for more projects in the future. I appreciate that he makes helpful suggestions on things including paint color shade to brighten our condo as well. read more

Denis along with several other handymen provided bids for repair work after a tenant moved out of our rental property and left a mess and damages. We had a new tenant moving in within two weeks and Denis was able to complete all repairs, installation and painting within three days and even managed to include oddball issues that arose during the project. I highly recommend Denis. His bid was higher than the others, but he was direct, informative and determined which won out. read more

Denis to the rescue! We have had Denis come by to help us with a couple small projects around the house and have always been happy with his work. What really sets Denis apart from other handyman services is his dedication to his clients! After the recent storm that blew through Sacramento, we were left scrambling to fix portions of our fence that were blown over in the storm. It was some pretty big damage! We were in a bind and called Denis for help. He accommodated us right away in his schedule and came up with a creative fix to help repair the fence. We were so impressed! We highly recommend Denis for both big jobs and small. He is personable, hard working, flexible, and a great handyman. Many thanks again! read more

I found Denis on Yelp and was impressed by all the 5-star reviews. Now, my own experience also attest to it. I decided to ask Denis for help to convert a downstairs office into a bedroom. Denis showed up on time and started working immediately. He worked very hard and was pretty detail-oriented. He was also very reasonable and showed a lot of understanding when we had some miscommunication regarding the scope of the work and the cost estimate associated with it. Denis helped me close up a wall, build a closet, replace a door with wall, and build another door for the bedroom. He did all the drywall and texture work as well. Overall, I'm pretty happy about the quality of his work and his work attitude. This might not be a small job for a typical handyman and he delivered! read more

Denis is great! He came to the rescue when I was not getting return calls from other handyman services, he called back promptly. The whole job he has been available for whatever was needed. I had an unfortunate experience with my granite install. The damage to my walls was extensive. I've included just a couple of photos. Denis replaced & repaired the sheetrock, textured & painted the damage. Along with a few other items. We were so impressed with Denis' work we decided to go with his tile man to instal our backsplash. His prices are very reasonable. And, he was a pleasure to work with. I will be using him for all my future handyman repairs, and light construction needs. read more

I called Denis because i needed immediate help. I called 5 or 6 other handymen in yelp and they all were either busy, didn't reply or wouldn't do the work! But Denis actually showed up the day I sent the request and fixed my cabinets that evening!!!! He again came back when I needed him and helped out with shower door installation and dishwasher issues! He has been responsive, fair, and always positive! I will call him again in future without hesitation! read more

I'm not sure if he didn't want the job, or was trying to rake me over the coals. Was quoted $300 bucks to install 3 sets of mini blinds. It was an awesome motivator to research how to install blinds. Good Handyman. Very professional, Can do a lot more then just basic handyman stuff. I used him to run my HDMI and electrical behind the wall to my fireplace and it came out great! Quality wok! I highly recommend Dennis as he is truly the BEST of the BEST. I found him when I purchased a home I was remodeling before moving in and Dennis saved the day time and time again. He is incredibly professional, polite, punctual and works very hard for his customer. Dennis went above and beyond to get things done perfect and fixed problems that other workers left me with. He worked on electrical, drywall, installing a dog door, installed our kitchen hood and much more. Our family worked very close with Dennis for a two month period and he has become a family friend, especially after saving me from other contractor nightmares. You will be so happy and grateful when working with Dennis :) read more

When a refrigerator leak damaged baseboards and drywall in my rental property, I called Denis. He responded promptly, asked for some photos and we scheduled a date to do the repairs. He did a good job on the drywall and baseboard replacement/repairs, even removing and re-installing some vinyl flooring to make sure everything was dry. I also had him fix a range hood vent and re-texture a ceiling, and he did a good job on those as well. When I discovered a small problem a few days later, he readily came back and took care of it with a smile. He's very pleasant to work with, and it was really nice to have someone who could deal with a wide range of work - I didn't have to incur the extra expense of calling someone to handle the drywall, someone to handle the flooring, and someone to handle the range hood. I would use Denis again for sure! read more

Denis is terrific. Highly competent. Helped me with interior doors. Very reasonably priced.

This review is not for the quality of the work or price but for my inability to get a response. I called Denis for a quote, we talked on the phone and he said he will get back to me later with the estimate. Later that evening I sent him photos of the job site to help his estimate. Denis thanked me for the pictures and indicated that he will get back to me soon. Well..it has been a week or more and no answer. I tried calling and texting back but no response again. read more

Where do I begin... we hired Dennis to do some major drywall repairs, wall niche closure, painting of living rm, dinning rm, bathroom, halls, ceiling, doors, installation of ceiling fans & bathroom light fixture. This project took 5 days to complete, Dennis and his assistant showed up everyday ON-TIME, with masks and worked very hard to get the job done. Denis came out and did some work in my Kitchen .... he was prompt, thorough and very high quality. Denis is such a person. His execution was flawless, and encourage you if you are looking for a great handyman to give him a call. You will not be disappointed.
