Springfield Pool and Spa recently changed owners, who live out of town. The people who work there…read moreapparently have no vested interest in how the business is doing, nor do they have any interest or concern about customer service. A little over a year and a half ago, I purchased a new hot tub, and it began leaking in days. Numerous trips to fix it, only to have it start leaking in about two weeks. Bull Frog finally agreed to replace the hot after a year and several more trips to fix leaks. Then I started having problems with the replacement hot tub. Now, beware when dealing with Springfield Pool and Spa. Their contract and warranty/guarantee do not cover travel time for guaranteed repairs. My old hot was over ten years old before I needed some work on it, so I had little concern. But after a year and a half, those charges have added up and I am less than fifteen minutes away from their store. When you ask the people at the store about a problem, they cannot tell you anything about how to fix it. They will only tell you they will have to send someone out to look at it and of course, charge you for it. The last time, I got a symbol on the control panel, and I stopped in the store to ask them what it meant because it would not allow me to do anything with the hot tub and there was no mention of it in the Operating Manual. They couldn't tell and said they would have to send someone out. They came out secretly and never indicated they had been (even though I was at home) there. Two weeks later, I got a bill for $218.75, telling me the control panel was so dirty they could not read it. First lie. Then the bill shows a charge for one hour of labor at $175 an hour. One hour to wipe off the top of the control panel? Not to mention another $43.75 travel time. All for something they should have been able to tell me when I went into the store to ask them about the problem and what the symbol on the control panel was indicating. I would stay away from them. They will not help you and simply tell you they will have to send someone out to look at it, so they can charge you an unreasonable amount. They will hang up on you if you call them and say something they don't want to hear, or they will threaten you with turning the dispute over to collection. Springfield Pool and Spa is one of the most disreputable businesses I have dealt with in my 76 years. I should have read the reviews before I decided to do business with them. This review makes 9 out thirteen, the worst they can be given.

We had Buster Crabbe install a new pool liner which was a very expensive purchase. It seemed to…read moreturn out fine but middle of this year the liner started coming out of the track. We called and explained they had installed and ask if they could come see why it was popping out. It looked to be In the same spot they had the large suction vacuums so we thought it had something to do with that. When the guy was here my husband went to show him where it happened and the liner popped right back into place just from my husband pushing it. The guy explained these liners do that with weather as hot as it was. As a pool company that knows this why would they not just mention this on the phone for us to try first before they even came out? Then we received a bill for $137. Zero work was done on this visit by Buster Crab, my husband literally fixed it himself just by trying to show the guy. We asked one question for future business on if they do any plumbing work since most pool places refer you elsewhere for plumbing. They said they can do pressure testing but that was it. Then the guy left. We could have called and asked the same plumbing question over the phone for free but I guess since he was standing in our yard they noted it as part of the "labor" charge on the bill. I can understand a service call fee but that should has been mentioned when we called them about a product they installed. A simple "I know we installed this product but we still charge service call fees to check our work". Then on top of service call fee we were charged a $97/hour labor fee for a guy to stand there and do nothing. Very unimpressed with the situation and we won't be going back to them for any pool needs.

The entire staff at Buster Crabbe does an excellent job. The service team had been out several times for opening, closing, repair, and maintenance and I can't say enough about how great they are. We are very pleased to do business with Buster Crabbe Pools and highly recommend them to anyone.
