I talked to a couple of movers, and I didn't get good vibes (they were either way expensive or they just felt unreliable for whatever reason). But Roma not only was less expensive than most of the movers but they also were very interested in my business, even though I didn't have a lot to move. I estimated it would take about two hours, and the person I spoke to not only gave me an estimate of three hours (which I was fine with, since I lived on the third floor and I know wrapping and positioning furniture for moving can take a while) but said he wouldn't charge me more if it took more than three hours. It took almost exactly two hours, which is what I was charged for, and I couldn't ask for three better guys. They didn't just work hard, they worked fast, like they were in a competition to get my move done as quickly as possible. I would recommend Roma to anyone and everyone that's moving. These guys are wonderful. They're friendly, they walk you through exactly what you need for them to do, and they work their butts off. I've moved somewhat frequently, and I've never had a bad experience with movers fortunately. But these are the first movers I would give five stars to without hesitation. I cannot recommend them more highly.

Run, don't walk away from this totally unprofessional & incompetent moving company…read more We booked Roma for Saturday June 18th. Arrival time was supposed to be between 9-10am. I received a phone call from Alex at 7:43am, informing me that they had a couple call outs the night before, and they would have to cancel our move that day. He informed me they could do the move Monday, and asked if that would work for us. I said no, that Sunday would be acceptable. Alex informed me he would forward that information to the office and someone would be in touch. That was the last I heard from anyone at this company. I tried to reach out to him on Saturday evening to ask if they were going to be able to move us Sunday, and got zero response. Moving is a large stressful ordeal as it is, get a real professional moving company instead of dealing with these clowns. Their contract totally covers their ass with regard to the customer canceling, but offers no protection for the customer when and if they totally dissappear on you. Everything we own was packed and ready to go for our Saturday morning move, and we are left to try to find another company, on very short notice, to move us ASAP because of Alex and Roma Movings total incompetence, and lack of professionalism. Read the other bad reviews and sprint away from this company. At least they were never able to destroy our personal belongings like all the other bad reviews have stated.

Unpaid, actual detailed client review…read more Move date: 03.25.2024 Part 1 I can not emphasize enough the extraordinary experience my family and I had with the Hockaday Brothers Moving Company (HBMC) during our recent move. From the moment we engaged their services, it was evident that we were in the hands of consummate professionals.  Despite the challenges that moving day inevitably brings, they kept us at ease throughout the entire process. Foremost, let me commend the dedication and sheer stamina exhibited by the crew. Working tirelessly and with unwavering energy, the five (5) man crew (including the owners operator) with two (2) large moving trucks, efficiently tackled every aspect of our move, regardless of the hour or the complexity of the task at hand. Their meticulous attention to detail and careful handling of our items was truly commendable. Their relentless work ethic not only impressed us but also alleviated any apprehensions we might have had about the daunting moving process.  What truly sets Hockaday Brothers apart is their unwavering commitment to honesty and integrity. Unlike many others in the industry, they provided a transparent and fair pricing structure, ensuring that we were not taken advantage of during a time when vulnerability often prevails. In an era where people are emboldened behind screens with this unbridled with rage and only post negativity to take companies to the proverbial woodshed, there was ZERO downside lurking within HBMC. These are good guys, trust me because they were with us for about  twelve (12) hours straight.  Listen, despite their three-hour drive from Charlotte to the RDU area, they arrived promptly and ready to tackle the tremendous job at hand in this unexpected time gobbling yet client focused move. Their professionalism, dedication, and hard work have earned them a customer for life. I will not hesitate to use them for all of my future moving needs and will enthusiastically refer them to anyone in need of a top-notch moving company. It was evident that their priority was not profit but rather ensuring our peace of mind throughout the entire journey. Moreover, the trustworthiness and purpose exhibited by the team within the confines of our home was unparalleled. Each member conducted themselves with the utmost respect for our belongings and properties, handling them with care and precision as if they were their own. This level of professionalism instilled a sense of confidence in us, allowing us to relax and focus on the excitement of the new chapter awaiting us. HBMCs full-service approach to both interstate and intrastate moves is truly laudable. From the initial consultation to final delivery, HB 'leaves no stone unturned' in ensuring a seamless transition for their clients. Forbye, the communication throughout the entire process was beyond outstanding. The regular updates provided leading up to the move, during the process itself, and even afterwards to ensure our satisfaction, truly exemplify their dedication to customer service excellence. I must admit, my decision to hire HB was influenced by the glowing feedback I researched online, particularly on the app, Thumbtack. However, it is one thing to read about exceptional service and quite another to experience it firsthand. Their service speaks volumes about their commitment to going above and beyond for their clients.  Not to mention, they finished at 1am and had to lend services to another client bright and early the next day... and yet the owner, Jackson, still found time to text me to ensure we got some much needed rest and that everything was great on our side.  Jackson, the aforementioned owner, was right there, moving boxes and furniture, working up a sweat in the cold of night,  alongside his equally hard-working crew.  Sir, you are one of a kind,  a gentleman,  a great leader,  an amazing communicator, and an astute business owner & we're glad to know you and your team. We wish you,  and the crew,  great success in your endeavors. Don't change a thing! To everybody reading this,  it's rather needless to say at this juncture, but here goes. . . I have become a staunch advocate for HBMC, a family-owned moving company, and will not hesitate to recommend their services to friends and family alike. In fact, I am already eagerly anticipating the opportunity to enlist their help for any and all of our future moving needs. In conclusion, I implore anyone in need of a moving company to look no further than Hockaday Brothers Moving. Their unparalleled dedication, honesty, and professionalism make them an invaluable asset during what can often be a stressful time. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for turning what could have been a logistical challenge into a smooth and memorable experience.  I emphasize,  moving a whole family can be difficult and stressful.  We appreciate Hockaday taking the load off of us for your clients. A seamless and stress-free experience!

The men who served as my moving crew worked hard and were completely professional and capable. A couple of things went wrong, neither of which I could blame on the crew. Unprofessional behavior from movers…read more This was a terrible and traumatic experience! I hired this company's service on October 22, the last week. I moved from Ballantyne, NC, to South Park, NC. They didn't complete the move until the next day. They had to return to the residence because they lost the hardware from one bed. Also, they left items without wrapping. The next day, when they came back, once they had installed it, one of the guys asked for pay, and my card was declined because of my change in the zip code. There were three workers here, and there was no supervisor. Ok. So, when my card was declined, I called my husband, and he tried to give them a credit card number over the phone. They could not take that, and they became hostile. The guy insisted that he wanted the card physically. So, they said my husband needed to come here and give them the card. He was at a job site and could not leave. So, the guy started yelling at me and threatened to take my stuff. He walked room by room, looking at what he could take. They were three guys against two women. I said to the guy to leave my house. He refused to leave because he wanted to take my stuff, so I ran to the door to stop him from taking my belongings. My cousin called my husband, crying and looking at the situation. The guy was trying to intimidate me, so I called the police, and he decided to leave, but I stopped him because he had taken my stuff and was waiting for the police. The guy was out of control. My husband talked to the owner, and he told him to leave. We paid the bill for the move on Saturday morning, which was over $5000. I feel now traumatized by the situation. I feel like I was assaulted in my own house. You know how much stress it is to move from one place to another and care about your belongings. That's because we hired a service that says it is " professional." That was a big mistake; they are not what they say. For this horrible experience, I never recommend this company.
