I talked to the foster mom Margaret, and I had a bunch of questions about Otis...how his nares were, eyes, tail, allergy info on him, asked some behavior questions, then got some of his history of his former owners and surroundings, and talked about his temperament. I scheduled a day to drive up and meet Otis and his foster mom, as I was 5 hours away. I drove up and immediately fell in love! Otis is a typical Frenchie...he wants to be with his owner as much as he can! He is so very smart. I see the bad reviews on here about Mobile Mutts Rescue, but I can honestly say, I have nothing but good things to say about the organization! After driving up, and after being approved to be Otis's new dad, I was very confident and very happy with the experience! I wouldn't hesitate to adopt from them again in a heartbeat! And I know my dog was chipped, and had his vaccinations. Like I said, I can't say enough good things about this rescue!

It is so helpful to have someone you can ask questions of, to reassure and comfort you at a fraught and emotional time. Every criteria we had was met and exceeded: we wanted Maggie to feel no fear, to have unhurried time with her, to have a clear understanding of what was going to happen, to say goodbye on our terms. Maggie simply and immediately accepted Dr. Kriner's presence, decided she welcomed pets and affection from this sweet person she had never met. The only focus was Maggie, to have her feel complete love surrounding her, to let her enjoy cheeseburgers and chocolate, pets, hugs, kisses, many words of love, to make certain she knew exactly how special she was and always would be and that we were grateful for her life with us. There is no avoiding how heartbreaking a time it is, but to have a precious fur baby handled with love, calmness, gentleness, respect and care is an enormous comfort. We are so profoundly grateful for Dr. Kriner. She returned Maggie's ashes to us with the same compassion with which Maggie left our home. We are unspeakably touched by every aspect of interaction with Dr. Jessica Kriner of Compassionate Heart.

For those of you who know me, know that I love my pooch Ryno. He's a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and yes, is treated like royalty. I have yet to meet a Cavalier that hasn't been sweet, awesome, and overall just a great catch! I have not adopted from this rescue, but know people who have, I've also met a few people affiliated with the rescue at various meet ups and dog shows throughout IL and even WI. :-) You couldn't ask for a bunch of better people! Here's a little about their mission (taken from their website): GCCR's mission is to help ensure the health and security of abused, abandoned, and otherwise endangered Cavalier King Charles Spaniels by rehabilitating and placing Cavaliers from shelters and similar situations, by assisting breeders and owners in finding new homes for their Cavaliers, and by providing to the public educational materials and consultation regarding Cavalier health and care. I'm not sure that these folks actually want to adopt out their rescue pups. Was approved and got…read morean email stating I was approved. Second email said wait 5-7 days and respond with dogs you're interested in, which I did. Never heard back. Ended up going to a local rescue and adopted a senior companion with special needs to add to the family. Our last rescue we had for over 11 years and we kept in touch with not only his rescue (yearly with donations and events), but with the actual person who rescued him. We are sorry ARF turned out to be such a disappointment with no communication after application approval. But nonetheless, it worked out for us and the rescue we rescued from. I was warned in the therapy dog community not to attempt to adopt from them and they were correct. Hate to leave a bad review since it's all volunteers, but simple communication goes a long way when there are a lot of pups waiting for forever homes out there.
