I ate at this establishment for the first time today; and I'm deeming it, "slap yo momma" good. I'm not kidding, I'd slap my momma if it meant I could eat here all the time, and I love my momma Nice little local spot. When you first walk in, you may be turned off by the smell of "sewage," but trust me when I say ignore it and get food here. The smell is brief, and it doesn't stick around, especially not when you eat. The smell comes from sewage issues they've been having, but they will be relocating when the owner finds a good spot. The lighting is great, and they have all their windows tinted, which help prevent excess heat and sun from blinding you while you eat. This is important to me because I suffer from chronic migraines. The decor gives midwestern sports and other little nods to the midwest, and it's done so tastefully where it's not overbearing. The service was top-notch. I believe the gentleman who welcomed us in was the owner. He was friendly and had excellent customer service from when we walked into the door to when we were walking out. He was constantly checking in to see how we were doing and to see if we needed anything. My partner and I both got the Boss Hogg Special Combo. It comes with 5 wings of your choice, a Philly egg roll, a hot dog, and fries. They had so many flavor options for the wings, but I got their honey hot lemon pepper. For the hot dog, you get options to choose how you wanted it. I opted for the chili cheese. That Philly egg roll was so good. It's the only thing allowed to bust like that in my mouth. It was hot, flavourful, and thick. Comes with a spicy sweet chili type sauce, which has a nice kick. The honey hot lemon pepper wings literally made me tear up they were so delicious. I even wanted to swear because it was so good; which I never do. Although it's drenched in sauce, the wings didn't lose their crispiness. They know how to fry chicken cause damn that crunch when you bite into them. You do get a sauce choice. I chose Ranch. I'm not sure if the ranch is made in-house, but let me just tell you that the ranch is creamy good. I don't typically eat hot dogs, I personally think they are gross, and they make me nauseous. However, the chili cheese coney dog I got from here; I devoured that bad boy. I should probably have eaten it first so it would've still been piping hot, but it was still tasty as hell at room temp. The fries were good and complimented the other items perfectly. From what I saw and experienced personally, it appeared that the majority of their drinks were bottled or canned. I got bottled water, and my partner got a canned soda. After we finished eating and got in the car, I literally raced to text all my friends when they visit Houston to try this establishment. Texas, y'all can have this heat!! 102 with the humidity and NO shade in sight! I love the idea of the egg rolls. I'd never seen that before. The outside has great flavor and perfect crispness! The steak was just ok. Not a bad taste but it was as flavorful as I would have like. The cheese that was paired with it was really good. The menu says that grilled onions and bell peppers was on it but I did not have any in mine. I feel like that would have given it more flavor. I'm not sure what the sauce was that came with it. Maybe a a mix of soy sauce, bbq sauce and maple syrup? Weird but pretty good. Worth the calories but I'm not sure I would have ordered it again. The chili fries weren't anything to write home about. Chili, cheese, raw onions and jalapeños. Chili is normally what makes or breaks loaded fries. So it had more flavor, they would have been bomb! I found myself wanting condiments; hot sauce or some of mayo mix. Overall good place to eat with a friendly staff. We came at about 8:35pm so it was a surprise they still took our order with them closing at 9pm. The appearance of the eggrolls had my mouth watering but taking a bite was lackluster. Biggest disappointment was the insides of BOTH eggrolls they were raw. Flavor was there in the philly cheesesteak but it wasn't much filling at all, idk how they puffed up like that. So first let me just say this place not only provided the BEST MOST AMAZING Customer Service ever the food was soooooo good had my mouth watering literally. Everything from the moment I walked in the restaurant to being greeted so professionally and with respect the gentleman who took our order was so helpful he provided us details of what items were on the menu and then samples of the hot sauce for our wings before we ordered and our food was freshly cooked and it was no wait at all like we had a front row seats at the best restaurant in Houston. The Astros were in the playoffs so I got to watch the game and eat good. It was a win win I really enjoyed every moment and bite. I went 2x within my stay over 2 weeks it was yummy. This is it. There's a place in Houston that makes the Michigan style coney islands that I have been wanting. If you go, get the Flint style. It was delicious. I 'm not going to knock the Detroit style, though. That one was pretty good too. I think the thing is, that the Detroit style chili sauce doesn't differ too much from the kind of coneys you see in Texas, except it's not with a bunch of cheese. The only notes I would give is to add a maybe a little more mustard to the dogs. Just a little, and it would be way better if you topped the flint style with a lot more finely chopped onions. Aside from that , the Flint style was perfection. We got wings too. Those were good, but I don't think I got the best sauce. I got Parmesan, so if you get the wings, go with a different sauce. Also, I had to drive about 30 or more minutes to get home, so the chili cheese fries were not nearly as good as they would have probably be if they were fresh. read more

We heard there was a place serving Flint style Greek Coney Islands, and so we had to go. We grew up eating this style of hotdog in Flint and can verify that it was the real deal. Delicious! Be sure to ask for the Kogel hotdog with your Coney Island. My husband ordered the Detroit style hotdog and his was delicious too. I had a bite and I thought the meat sauce was really good. The chef threw in a couple Philly cheesesteak eggrolls for us to try. Maaaaan, I didn't want to crave hot dogs but I think I'm going to now. I saw the H-town special on Yelp and knew I had to try it. I was nervous because wings and chili dogs just doesn't seem right but this combo is it! I got the Detroit dog and it's so good, usually chili dogs leave you feeling full and groggy but this is just right. The wings.... I could go back for some right now! They serve wings, fries and of course HOT DOGS!!! They have grated or melted cheese, dry or wet chili and all the traditional hot dog toppings. While both chili options are great, I preferred the wet. I opted for both grated and melted cheese, it made the dog even better. My husband tried the wings and he loved them. They give you 3 options for sauces and the best part, it's a young girl from Missouri City who made these sauces. I love when small businesses help other small businesses and I love to buy local. That's what you're doing here, helping small businesses grow. This was a damn good dog and a damn good price. It is by far my favorite place to get hot dogs in Houston.
