After a night out I found a parking lot at 1am filled with food trucks. There were about 6 to be exact. I decided to give SAM'WICH a try because the name had a ring to it. AMAZING! If you see this food truck, I highly recommend stopping by. My work building has a food truck once every two weeks and Sam'Wich was the food truck last week. Me and a couple of coworkers went down to check it out. The owner was so kind, and came up to me and a coworker (we were the first ones to come down & waiting) and gave us menus, while explaining to us some of the items. I originally had my eye set on one of the sandwiches, but after describing their greens n' grains bowl, it sounded too good to pass up. I decided to go for the chicken tawook (I think?) after he said it's kind of like a chick fil a nugget. I figured, since I'm getting the greens n' grains bowl, with mostly healthy things, some fried chicken nuggets wouldn't be so bad. ;) NO REGRETS. My bowl was amazing - it's something I've never had, and so delicious. The portion they gave was huge, and gave me some leftovers for an afternoon snack. My coworkers that got some of their sandwiches said nothing, but great things. Great flavors, and quality. I can't wait to see this truck again and get my bowl again! I ordered the original bowl with chicken tawook and received grilled chicken instead--fail. I was there at peak hours for lunch, and the wait wasn't terrible. Actually, I got my order within 5 minutes. The bowl itself was quite small for the price. For the amount I paid, it's definitely not worth it. I'd rather go to Chipotle, get twice as much for half the price. I guess this is what you get if you are stuck working amongst the BHP buildings along Post Oak, but it wasn't even memorable for it to be worth my time. I tried messaging them on Instagram and asked the food truck guy directly about how I can find out their location at any given time, and they said it's on their Instagram page--wrong! We ordered the #1, #2, and #6. All came with crispy fries that were just delicious with the sauce. Moreover, this food truck is unlike many others you've probably frequented. It's not in a crowded lot, difficult to get to, or in an unfriendly or unsafe environment. This is a great place to come with friends and family. They typically have some good music playing, so if you're not in a rush I would stick around and eat your food while it's warm. There's also a Nutella brownie cupcake on the menu that is a must try. It's homemade every morning and only two dozen are made. Make sure to snag yours because once they are out, they are out! Lastly, it's great that they use fresh ingredients and make fresh every day. You'll be able to taste their passion for food in whatever dish you choose. At times the quality takes such a hit when restaurants mass produce their food.
