Midway Vacations is a vacation rental management company that specializes in quality properties for a broad spectrum of visitors to Waikiki. They have many properties to choose from and some are just spectacular in person. And the price point is very reasonable dependent on market conditions. We were in Honolulu for the JAL Honolulu Marathon and needed accommodations after the race. Using booking.com, I came upon a listing for a penthouse 1 bedroom/1 bath unit with pictures showing a gorgeous view of Diamond Head. The price was very reasonable and quickly booked the listing. Midway Vacations provides great descriptions and pictures of the units available. When we entered...our breaths were taken away!!! A little aloha was also extended with chocolate macadamia nut candies and water to welcome us. The room was clean and comfortable. Well detailed information was also provided. Communication before/during/after was excellent via email and text. The pictures will show what we experienced during our stay. Midway Vacations is a well tuned fine instrument. read more

This is the beautiful unobstructed view of Diamond Head from our Midway Vacation top floor condo rental in Tower 1, unit 3709 at the Waikiki Banyan. There were a total of 3 adults in our party and we had a comfortable stay during our week there. The unit is as pictured in Midway Vacation's website. We didn't use the kitchen to cook at all, but it had all the essentials to do so. The Waikiki Banyan is an older property and the interior hallways are a bit dated. However, the condo unit was perfect for us budget minded travelers, and waking up to the breathtaking views were spectacular! read more

DO NOT BOOK HERE. Deceptive business practices. Midway Vacations admitted in writing that they knew about the massive power/water outage at noon on our check-in day, yet they deliberately withheld this information and let us check in at 5:30 PM to an uninhabitable unit. No electricity, no hot water, no elevators. They then refused a full refund, withholding $628.25 for "cleaning and insurance" for a stay that was impossible from the start. Completely dishonest and unprofessional. Avoid at all costs. Dear Midway Vacations Team, Thank you for your response. However, I find your explanations unacceptable and will be pursuing this matter to the fullest extent possible. Your claim that you acted based on the "best available information" is contradicted by the facts. You admitted to being aware of the outage on March 13th, yet you allowed me to check in without any prior warning. This is not a matter of "unforeseen circumstances," but a deliberate failure to disclose critical information about the property's inhabitability. Whether the outage was caused by weather or building management is irrelevant to your contractual obligation to provide a unit with basic utilities. A rental without electricity, hot water, or elevator service does not meet the legal definition of a habitable dwelling, and I should not be charged for a service that was not rendered. My wife and I just returned from our 3rd trip to Honolulu this last week, 2/1/26 thru 2/8/26. It was our first time booking with Midway and definitely will be our last. We were booked to stay at Cozy Studios Aloha Surf. Let me start by saying we are average travelers, not expecting red carpet treatment, however do expect to get what we paid for. We rented a " private owned condo" with accommodations large enough for 4 adults. Upon arriving one of the two elevators were down (being upgraded per the front desk) our room being on the 8th floor it was not possible to take the stairs. Entering the room was a surprise to say the least, the smell of musty bleach was the first to get our attention. The room was much smaller than depicted leaving no room to open our suitcases. The shower was nice, however the bathroom was small making it difficult to use for shaving or makeup. The "Kitchen" was a sink and a 18" counter top, with microwave and coffee pot. The couch was very worn and the curtains had drippings of paint from an apparent renovation. While the bedding was clean it appeared dingy/ faded from use. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and felt like something was poking through the padding. the next morning we tried to speak to the managing staff but were told we would have to wait for the manager to return and it would be several hours. My wife and I agreed we could not stay there so we decided to look for another place while we waited for the call back. We happened to notice a water shutdown notice in the elevator on the way out, just another issue to deal with. We found accommodations at the Wyatt Place ( very nice accommodations ) for only a little more than we had paid for the Condo, we also had prepaid for many excursions and did not wish to ruin our vacations plans so we booked the hotel. We did receive a call back from the manager later that day but we had already moved out of the room. We did not get all our money back but did receive a credit for the inconveniences of about $230 dollars. Just beware the pictures don't always tell the whole story. read more

Misleading Listing - Not Worth the Price I stayed in Waikiki for 5 nights with my family and booked a 2-bedroom condo through Midway Vacations, while also reserving a separate room at Hyatt Place Waikiki for my in-laws. Given the premium price of nearly $600 per night, I expected a high-end Airbnb experience -- what we got was anything but. The unit was located in a run-down, 3-star hotel building. We shared all hotel amenities -- pool, lobby, elevators -- with hotel guests, yet paid nearly double the rate for the same setup. The only difference was that the unit was "privately managed," which brought no added value whatsoever. Early check-in requests took over 2 hours to receive a reply, and they wanted to charge $99 per day for housekeeping -- a basic service you'd expect to be included at that price. If you're considering booking a 2-bedroom space in Waikiki, you're far better off getting two rooms at Hyatt Place across the street. It will likely cost less than $600 total, and you'll enjoy far better service: daily housekeeping, breakfast buffet, strong WiFi, snacks, bottled water, beach towels, chairs, and even toys for kids -- all included. The only added cost is parking, but the savings make up for it easily. This experience felt misleading and overpriced, and I won't be booking with Midway Vacations again. I would definitely stay at one of these homes again. We had such a good view . The bed and the pull out bed where pretty comfortable. The place was beyond my expectations. Even the dishes were spotless. The host kept in contact also to make sure everything went smoothly for my stay which everything did go smoothly . I was unable to respond to any messages due to water get in my phone from the beach . Overall 10/10 The only down fall I would say is the elevators were sometimes full and sometimes have to wait a little longer to get in one but aside from that I still give it 10/10 . I stayed at Tower 2 Unit 2309 and everything was nice and clean. The view was beautiful. I took pictures almost everyday. Bed was comfortable and I loved how there was Beach towels and beach chairs for us to use. Love the communication I had with Midway Vacations. We stayed at the Waikiki Banyan - Tower 1 - Unit 710 in Oahu for a week. The condo was fully stocked with what we needed, and very clean. We could not hear any neighbor's or outside noise. The AC kept the unit cool, no issues. They did warn us that there was construction going on in the building, so elevators would be slow, so we parked near the stairwell on the highest level 5 of the garage, and just used the stairs most of the time. Communication was always prompt. This building is only a couple blocks from the beach, an easy 5min walk. Nearby Starbucks, and several restaurants. There's a lovely 3mi route near the park/river that you can walk or run in the morning. Great location, FREE parking, plenty of spots! read more

BEST PLACE we stayed in Honolulu! Truly breath taking views. The view of both Diamond Head and the Ocean was incredible. We took my parents for an anniversary (35 year) and retirement gift. They had never been on a vacation that required them to fly- let alone to Hawaii. My dad had tears in his eyes when he looked out and said he has never seen a view like that. My family and I stayed at one of Midway's condos in Waikiki for 5 nights! LOVED IT!!! We had views of the ocean, mountain, and city. The customer service Midway provided from start to finish was top notch, literally amazing. We also loved the items the team had stocked in the kitchen. The condo we had was very nice! We stayed at the pacific monarch hotel and had an AMAZING OCEAN VIEW and we also got a mountain and city view!! It was a great stay and the host is very good at getting back to you quickly if you need anything. I would recommend this place definitely!!!! read more

We stayed in Waikiki Banyan Tower 2 for a week. Very satisfied with the apartment and with the staff of Midway Vacations. The staff very polite and responsive. The apartment was clean and equipped with everything we needed for our vacation, including beach chairs and towels. Very good internet, smart TV with all apps. Close to the beach and all other local attractions and stores. We loved that parking garage was included in our rental. I was extremely disappointed with our stay at the Aqua Aloha Surf Hotel/ Airbnb. First of all the photos of the unit are deceiving , the photos don't show how actually small this place is. The laundry machines were dirty and rusted, trash was left in the hallway for days and the front desk staff were unfriendly when we raised our concerns about the garbage .Additionally we needed assistance with the outdated TV so we could cast from our phones because of the limited channels , but our request went unanswered until we discovered that someone from your company entered the unit while we were out , They didn't informed us of their visit and simply left the cord on the coffee table . This lack of commutation and unprofessional behavior was very concerning. read more

When we initially booked our place to stay, we were a little worried about the location being so far away from other parts of the island we wanted to explore. But after checking in, we quickly found out that access to the west, north, and east shores were not to far away to enjoy, not only the Waikiki area, but the entire island. The hotel is gorgeou. It had excellent accommodation. This included a Hawaiian show and spectacular fireWorks. There were shops, mailbox and a place to purchase snacks. Just returned from another wonderful stay at Waikiki Banyan. Great communication from beginning to end from Midway. The units have always been very clean and spacious. And if we need anything during our stay, they are on top of it. The shower in this unit we just stayed in needs to be fixed. We had to keep holding the spout as it kept falling down. We could have called them as I know MV would come right away to fix it but just didn't want to take time to deal with it. Definitely recommend MV. Have used them a few times and will continue to do so. Everyone is very friendly and helpful that you speak or email with. One more thing is I do wish they communicated when the pool and hot tub are out of use due to cleaning or whatever. That was not communicated until the week before our arrival. No discount offered or anything. So a bit disappointed in that. read more

Aloha! We were in Oahu in June with our family to relax. I have to say I was super impressed with our stay at Waikiki Banyan because of the Midway Vacation team. They made the place so welcoming and comfy. Our family loved staying there. Having parking was wonderful as we have family on the island so it was great to come and go as we pleased without having to worry about looking for parking when we returned. The little amenities ... beach chairs, beach towels, cute shampoos/conditioners and having such a clean place when we arrived, just made us feel extra special. Communication was phenomenal, so we felt confident that anything we needed would be responded to quickly. Read on for an example of that. I couldn't believe the "over and above" service they provide. For instance, we accidently left the car lights one night, so the next morning we discovered our battery was dead. They had someone from their team come over with a portable battery charger to try to help us get the car started again!! We were so grateful that they cared enough to make the time and effort to try to help us! So again, mahalo nui loa for all the personal touches and care you put into making our vacation on Oahu memorable! read more

It is an easy company to work with. Instructions for check-in and out are clear. The condo is as described on their website. Great view of the Diamond head and ocean. it is clean. The location is great. Easy 5 minute walk to the Waikiki beach as well as most stores and restaurants. Everything is close. We had to cancel our trip to Oahu Hawaii in March for our trip in July in lieu of Covid-19. We received some refund but lost ~400, now the ridiculous part about this was that fee included cleaning, cleaning on our part that never happened. There should be some flexibility in refunds. We had full refund for our Maui cancellation through a different management company. My brother n law canceled his trip to Oahu just recently this month July for September and received full refund (different mgmt co). I'm very disappointed and would think twice if this was the management company. read more
