We've tried pretty much everything on the menu. This is an older establishment that has kept its old charm. One aspect we appreciate about it. Very simple ordering process and great customer service. Simple menu with plenty of options for everyone. The food is cooked to order and doesn't take long even when it's really busy. Plenty of seating and a large parking lot. We have enjoyed every meal here and will continue to do so. Recommend dining here. Interesting note: if you search for the best burger restaurants in NC, they are on the list.

I joined the Marine Corps and left the area, but I would always stop there when home on leave. About 15 years later, I was so disappointed when the store was no longer there. Well, I have finally found the closest thing to what I enjoyed over 50 years ago. Awesome dogs with thick meat sauce, sweet onions and mustard. They also put coleslaw on them, but I had to go with my boyhood passion, so no coleslaw for me. A friend told me that he had never had a dog with coleslaw before, but he thoroughly enjoyed it. The shake was pretty dang good too. I will be back this weekend again!

Conveniently located in the center of Topsail Island, it was a 15-minute drive from our 2022 Airbnb stay. With our stay at Saltwater Suites in 2025, the drive was less than 5 minutes. With four mornings between the two stays, we dined in at NY Corner Deli four times. It had everything we wanted. My son and I are sticklers for routine. In every visit to NY Corner Deli, we ordered the same thing: 2 scrambled eggs with toast & potatoes for me, and pancakes for him. Orders were placed at the counter. Then we went upstairs to the dining area and waited for the orders to be served. There were no issues with the order, food or service in the four visits. In both 2022 visits, I had coffee; in both 2025 visits, I had Mountain Dew. Refills are free for both coffee and soda. My order tasted better than a similar one at Tick Tock Diner in NYC. It was great value for money. I always felt that I ate enough to last me through lunch. There was no reason to try anything different. Unlike Tick Tock Diner, NY Corner Deli did not have any TVs in the dining area. We go to the beach to get away from the world. TVs keeps us connected to the world and the negativity that comes with it. Furthermore, there weren't many people in the dining area whenever we were here. I had only seen up to two other tables that were occupied. If you like a decent breakfast and a quiet atmosphere, NY Corner Deli is the place to be. I'll be back the next time I'm in the Topsail / Surf City area.

I can totally understand on why but my visit today felt like it didn't match. Just everything felt weak; both quality and quantity. Service has always been a real hit or miss too. You either get okay service or they just don't care, whether on the phone or in person. It used to be a really great place to go to for food but now just feels below average. It's a place I can only really go to every once in a while because of prices. I wish it was a place I could frequent more often.

I don't know how this location gets five stars. No apology first, no explanation, just rudeness. They were not actually out of chicken, when we got to the counter, we could see chicken in the serving bins, so we asked about it. The clerk whispered that they had chicken, but they just failed to cook enough for the night and would likely have more in an hour. Something this manager could have said. The fact that they leaned over the counter and whispered and how they said it made clear they were in a hostile work environment with a poor manager. That information should have been told to the staff, not yelled to the whole restaurant without completing the information with "Hey, we're sorry, but we are running low and won't have more chicken ready for an hour," Or "Sorry, we screwed up and did not make enough chicken, but here's a coupon for making you wait in line instead of closing" Or close the store if you're out of food and not waste the customer's time. How you deliver bad news and how it's received is a matter of how you state things. A little humility, looking us in the eyes, waiting for a second to again show some empathy, or communicating with the customer-facing staff first isn't all that hard. There was no effort made to steer us to the chicken in the bins, which apparently was being held back for the drive-thru despite displaying it out front. What kind of Chicken joint runs out of chicken at the dinner hour? If this was the first week of operations, I could understand, but it's not. We don't even know if we would like Bojangles, as this was our first and probably only experience with this chain. Terrible customer service, terrible planning, terrible management. Why would we come back?

The customer service that I experienced was friendly and courteous. Upon trying my food, I found that it was tasty and freshly prepared for the most part. It was also warm. 2 out of 3 of my chicken pieces came out this way but I did have 1 piece that was dry and not fresh. My dirty rice was yummy and flavorful and so were my green beans! My sweet tea was also good and had light ice in as instructed. Overall, I had a good impression of this location.
