A local strip mall burger place with lots of sauce options, great fries and tasty burgers. Onion rings were good too. I notice a lot of smaller restaurants in Eastern NC have canned soda in a refrigerator instead of fountain drinks and many of them that have the fountain soft drinks many don't have ZERO like ZERO Coke or ZERO Pepsi, even in the drink case. This is the kind of place to come back over and over so you learn their system because I felt like there were oddities I was missing. Like not realizing there were sauce choices until we were nearly done. We will have to come back and try some of them and have another great burger. read more

Came around 12:30. I believe they just opened for the lunch crowed. The unsweet tea was freshly brewed. Little bit of a wait for the food but lots of seats for hungry dinners. Inside seating, bar seating and outside tables. Food can be to go too. Theres a chalk board and magnets for kids to play with while they wait too. Fun family place for lunch! Bathrooms are clean too. One person to a bathroom. I didn't see changing tables however. There food is awesome. Burgers are tasty. They would of gave 5 guys a run for their money for sure. The french fries are super crispy and the onion rings are great! They came with homemade sauce as well. I think its homemade ranch with a very small amount of hot sauce. With a toddler i chose to do a tail gate lunch/ picnic with it and it worked out great! All the burgers are customizable too with toppings. Best burger I've ever bitten! Seriously! Ten seasonings are spot on! Every single bite was a delight. We also shared onion rings, which were battered and fried to perfection. This place is a great burger place but they also have non beef selections as well. Their burgers are pretty daggone tasty and I am sure they use a nice beef selection for their burgers due to the great flavor. The other awesome thing about this place is the half and half option of fries and onion rings. Their fries are good but onion rings are awesome. To top it off, they have their own special sauce for their burgers along with a dipping sauce. This place is a great lunch or dinner stop while in Morehead City. You won't be disappointed. On the other hand, my husband and daughter had the firehouse double cheeseburger but they weren't a fan. They thought it needed a little more flavor. Definitely was meaty and maybe that's took away from the flavors. Overall, great lunch and average/fair pricing. Staff and store: Arrived at 1pm, sitting area was at a full capacity so we ordered to go. Counter person was really busy but she kept her cool, did a great job keeping the line moving and was patient. This is the second time I've been here and it was just as meh as the first. Ordered a tuna burger; the sandwich was small with hardly any coleslaw and there was too much salt in the blackening spices on the tuna. The fried pickles I ordered were soggy. It was takeout, but I picked it up at the time they said and it was only a 3 minute drive to where I ate. Never been but had a coupon so I tried. The price was different than what was printed in the coupon book. Covid increased prices so i understood. I got two classic hamburgers and one order of onion rings. Hamburger was huge but absolutely no flavor. Definitely needed salt. Asked for mustard and ketchup and only got one mustard and two ketchup's. Not enough to add flavor to the burger. So very disappointed in the onion rings. They were the thin kind and WET. The flavor was good but since they were so wet and soggy I just could not eat them. The cashier was very nice and we had a nice conversation. This place has some of the best burgers ever and I love going here, but the reason I'm putting 3 stars is because they feel like they don't have to follow their hours, at least once a week they have some excuse on their door about being closed, some of these include: "not enough staff" "ran out of patties" "freezer broke". So if you come here, just know that there is a chance they'll have some excuse to be closed. read more

We picked up takeout from here. We got shrimp burgers, shrimp basket, Mahi basket and blackened Mahi. The shrimp was typical fried shrimp. The Mahi bites were dry but tasty. The grilled Mahi was great. We will try this place again and eat in. read more

Good burger, AMAZING onion rings! Right across the way from Wal Mart, it's a pretty tiny place with a few outside tables. Decided to stop in for a quick lunch after doing some shopping in Morehead & I was not disappointed. Had the pimento burger, half fries & half onion rings with a drink - $14. The side was big enough to share with another person so I ended up bringing quite a bit of food home. If you go, get the onions rings, seriously so good! The burger was also really good, I would've liked more pimento cheese since it didn't stand out much to me but it was overall a solid burger. Good quality patty & ingredients. This place earns burger bragging rights. The burgers are fresh and made by hand. They have an excellent selection ranging from a basic meat patty on a bun to daily specials for the food adventurous. I had the Goulda Apple Burger (Gouda cheese, grilled apple, onion rings), hubs had the Firehouse (2 Pattie's, bacon, mushrooms, onions) we split the 1/2 & 1/2 (fries and onion rings side) and a side of fried pickles. Had to chuckle at a few of the reviews.....lower stars because is isn't fine dining? Really? It is exactly what it is called....a burger joint and an excellent one at that! Eat here often and it is consistently a great burger...so much so that it is hard to try variety because I love what I've already had. We finally got our food after they gave it to the wrong table and the people put their hands on it so they tried to give it to us but we asked they bring us another burger. This place is meh. I expected a lot more, it looks like a legit burger place, but just wasn't that good. Workers and atmosphere were very nice, but they failed at the most important part of a restaurant: GOOD FOOD. I'm usually a high grader as you can see from my history, but the burgers here are extremely greasy, and very bland (even though the menu makes you think they would be strong flavors). We saw a lot of people going in, and based on reviews, decided to try. We had the classic cheeseburger. My cheese was smeared all over the wrapper and had melted completely off the burger. There was so much grease on the bun, and the bun broke into 4 pieces. I couldn't eat mine, it was too greasy. My husband had a hotdog, which he said was good, and his cheeseburger was in better shape than mine. He said his cheeseburger was ok. Their fries aren't even real French fries! They're like mashed potatoes that are formed into French fry shape, and then fried. Imitation. Horrible! This was an expensive disappointment. read more
