The food and drink here is outrageous. Eating at the bar...priceless...a truly amazing experience. The bartenders are extremely talented and take great care of their customers. I had the Beet Salad followed by Bolognese with shrimp added. The salad is a superb presentation of delicious beets with fresh melons. A refreshing start. The Carbonara was superb and the shrimp were awesome. So rich and beautiful pasta. I thought it it perfectly paired with the salad. A nice glass of Sauvignon Blanc was nice and wrapped up dinner with the bar manager's homemade limoncello. It is a must to wrap up dinner here. Anything I've eaten here is perfectly prepared. I was invited here for a work dinner. The inside space is hip and fun. Our party sat out on the patio and had a lovely evening. The patio is covered and there are misting fans to help with keeping things cool. Our server team was AWESOME!!! I usually remember to ask for names, and this time I totally forgot. They tended bar for us and took orders and brought out meals. They gave fantastic recommendations. My meal was delicious. I went with a petite filet with mashed potatoes. My only disappointment was that my steak was over cooked. I think my steak got switched w my table mate. Her's was a beautiful medium I had requested and mine was the medium well she had requested. The other favorite was the veggie lasagna. Rich layers of ricotta and sauce made for a good meal. The bread pudding was the hands down favorite for dessert. Only room for a few new pics and had to delete some old- my drink, seasonal Burrata, agnolotti, and pork Marsala. Went for a late birthday celebration. Staff was very nice and helpful, always extra staff around to fill drinks and clear plates. Seasonal burrata- with squash, very good and tasty he bread pieces are large/work with it. We did add extra and it was only $2 more (not shown). Gin-e-se-qua- good, refreshing, but pricey at $16. Agnolotti- ok. Just super rich and saucy, but the pasta was tender. Maybe just not what I expected with the wine sauce. Pork Marsala- husband loved it. I had a bite and it was super tender and a good portion. Outside again, this time with fans and spritzers. You will get a bit wet, but better than the alternative. Outside space always great for the kids distraction. Overall a good experience, definitely adds up, so be prepared. read more

LUNCH REVIEW AMBIANCE/SERVICE: Party of 3 and had to wait about 15 minutes before sitting - no reservation and arrived around 1PM on a Saturday. Our server was very attentive to us once we were seated and gave her feedback on dishes and drinks, which is much appreciated! FOOD: We ordered the Soup of the Day, which was a Leek and Potato creamy soup, and the Truffle Fries for an appetizer. The soup was very tasty - I wish there were more potatoes in it, but overall it was really good. The Truffle Fries we crispy however not very flavorful and needed a lot of salt. We then ordered the muffuletta, bolognese pasta, and a hot honey pizza. The bolognese pasta was OK - nothing too special in my opinion but still tasted good. The pizza was missing something, but not sure what - maybe sauce or cheese. The muffuletta was good, but nothing stood out. Overall, the experience was fine. Server was excellent, however the food (Lunch Menu) wasn't anything spectacular. I'd be curious how the Dinner Menu is as it is different from Lunch. read more

Wanted to check out a trendy local spot while my sister was in town and we decided on Midtown Table for lunch. There's a decent amount of parking which is great. Very cute inside and loved the vibe, especially being able to see into the kitchen. Our server was very nice and helpful. We started with the truffle fries ($9) - sooo good!! LOVED the garlic aioli with it as well. I got the fried chicken sandwich ($14) (no tomatoes) with a caeser salad on the side. The sandwich was so spicy so beware if you're less keen on super spicy things. The caeser salad tasted like nothing at all despite having lots of dressing on it, it was kind of weird. Even my sister agreed that hers tasted like nothing except lettuce. Not sure what happened there. My sister ordered the Italian panini ($14) and said it was very good. Would probably come back to give them another shot but would probably be 3 stars had it not been for our waitress and the ambiance in the dining room! read more

Went here for happy hour with a friend and loved it so much I went another time for happy hour. The place is nice a spacious and well decorated with a shaded outdoor area that has heaters. For the most recent time I went, Nate our waiter was very kind and kept making sure we were doing well. I ordered the mule for my drink and it was perfect. I also ordered the garlic truffle fries to share and it has a perfect taste and crispiness and the garlic aioli to go with it added to it perfectly. read more

A couple more visits has me sold on this restaurant for drinks, apps, pizza, and desserts...but not so much on the pasta. Service continues to be friendly, and my praise for the bread and ice cream remains high! Both are delicious on each trip I've taken. I've recently tried the white pizza, which was great, and the carrot fries. These "fries" were entire carrots in a fried tempura batter; the carrots were soft despite being whole, and the batter stuck to them well. It is a very heavy dish, though, as you'd expect for something fried. The disappointment came again in the pasta department for me. On my latest trip, I tried the tortellino. The accompanying sauce and vegetables were fine, but the pasta filling was gritty and the entire tortellino was way, way too salty -- it's rare that something is actually too salty to even eat for me, but both pieces I tried were just not edible. Maybe the third time getting pasta would be the charm here, but in future visits, I'll probably stick to other parts of the menu. read more

I have always heard good things about Midtown Table since they are part of the Medure brothers restrauants. I came here in December for a holiday party on a week day during lunch. We were seated outside and despite it being quite chilly they have plenty of heaters to keep you warm regardless of the season. This is a very nice touch! I had the Pittsburgh Pastrami. I loved a good pastrami sandwich and was surprised but not upset to find that this one came with fries ON the sandwich. Fun! Fries are definitely my weakness. I had it served with the house side salad. The sandwich was served on a very tasty sourdough bread and I loved the flavor of the pastrami. The side salad was also very tasty! We were a group of 7 and honestly - I found the service to be lacking which is the reason for a 4-star review. It was difficult to get a server while seated outside. Multiple appetizers and drinks were forgotten without an apology after. Our mains were served at different times which might not be a big deal to some but it's a pet peeve for me. I'd go back to midtown table to try them again if someone wanted to eat there but I'm not actively seeking them out. read more

I think I literally got the last spot in the parking lot on this recent lunch visit. I love their happy hour! $5 dirty martinis and $4 house wines?! Yes please. The seasonal burrata is amazing too! It comes with fresh focaccia and is a large size that's good for sharing. I would also recommend the truffle fries. I'm so happy I got to finally try their pizza. This place will definitely be added into rotation for pizza nights. The white pizza: whipped ricotta, stracciatella, pecorino, parmigiano-reggiano, arugula, chili flakes was INCREDIBLE. I especially loved the crust. The truffle cauliflower pizza: roasted cauliflower, truffle oil, fontina, pecorino was awesome too. Next time I'd love to try their red sauce. John welcomed us a first timers, and off we went to experience Tuscany in Jacksonville. Nice vibe, but not impressed with the food, the service, or the old fashion drink. Stopped in for lunch after hearing good things. We were sat immediately. However, it seemed like it was between 5-10 minutes after we were seated before anyone else came to the table. We were a little ahead of the lunch crowd so this was odd. Ordered the Sweet Calabrian Shrimp as an app and had the Prime Rib French Dip and a Caesar salad as my entree. The shrimp could possibly be the best shrimp appetizer I have had. The Calabrian sauce and pineapple relish really made the dish. My French dip was delicious as well and the au jus was was good although just a tad salty for my taste. The prices are good and standard for the food quality at lunch. Overall, the food was excellent while the service was average (never really saw our server). I am waiting to dine here for dinner and will update the review as needed. We went to Midtown Table for an early Saturday lunch and we requested a table outside. The outdoor seating was definitely the more popular option and within 30 minutes of our arrival it was nearly full out there. Equipped with fans and misters, the seating was very pleasant. They have a small play area for children on turf with a large connect four or tic-tac-toe board and mini golf. The menu is simple, relatively small, and consists of basically pizza, pasta, and sandwiches. We got one of each - a marinara Sicilian slice, radiatori, and the Italian panini. They also have salads and soups. We substituted the side of chips or house salad that came with the panini for the white bean and sausage soup. The breads here are excellent! The panini and focaccia crust on the Sicilian pizza were outstanding. The pasta was well-made and al dente but just ok in taste. It was a bit bland despite the bolognese. Even a little salt and pepper would've helped it. My dining partner loved the soup and said it was very flavorful. We decided to order the midtown ice cream at our waiter's suggestion. We also got the chocolate torte. Honestly, I wasn't sure about combining olive oil, fennel pollen, honey, and salt with ice cream but we loved it! It turns out that that is a unique combination that really works. The torte was thick and fudgy. It actually went well with the ice cream. Service overall was pleasant, but slow. It took a very long time for our desserts to come out. The dining area inside was also inviting. I look forward to returning here. read more

This was my third time eating at Midtown Table and as per usual, it was PHENOMENAL. We had a party of 5 and FEASTED! We ordered a ton of food but there was not a single bite left at the end of the night. We got to the table right at the end of happy hour and I enjoyed every sip of my delicious $4 wine! For appetizers we ordered the Margherita pizza, truffle fries and burrata and devoured each dish. We decided to order two Midtown Agnolottis to share and then had the gorgonzola gnocchi, hanger steak and tofu scallops. I was SO excited for these tofu scallops! It's a new dish and boy, I loved it. With my shellfish allergy - all I have ever wanted in my entire life, is SCALLOPS. This dish was the next best thing and the textures were beautiful. It was a dream come true for me and I think everyone would enjoy this entree. For dessert we had the chocolate torte and ice cream... it was so good, we literally ordered a second round to share. I'm not joking... The drinks were on point - I'm obsessing over the Sunglass at Night - as a bourbon lover, this was the right choice! Overall - a great dinner, great service, great atmosphere. Maybe I'm just getting bored, but this kinda joint makes me want to drizzle hot sauce on everything nowadays. The tomato soup has a nice consistency, but is otherwise generic. Not much to comment on, not even any herb. I will say that I've never been a fan of little bread crackers like this either. The hummus is good, but once again.....the bread. I don't like this hard focaccia bread for hummus; makes no sense to me. Maybe if it was a sandwich. Or, it could be served with the soup instead. And then the pizza...eeeehh. So bland and unsatisfying. Perhaps I'm supposed to appreciate the subtle umami that was overshadowed by the pepperoni and mushrooms I added, but both the crust and cheese have basically no presence. As an additional irrelevant rant, I don't like the American restaurant habit of serving soup as an appetizer before everything else, especially something like tomato soup, which in my mind is just a sauce for bread. The food is decent quality; I'm just extremely underwhelmed. I doubt I'll come here again, but if I do, I'll try the pasta instead. read more

Midtown Table Olivia ( Olive) Lydia Car troubles had me pinned down to the Southside this week. The old backup Dodge Ram simply doesn't have the legs she used to so I had to keep it close to the hood. I'd been mind-hyping a glorious return to Texas Roadhouse for their Chicken Fried Chicken (not reviewed because too erotic ) and was well on my way until the final stop light off Gate. At that moment, like a Mike Tyson left hook under a flurry of jabs, my dine-local instincts kicked in and I hung a hard right to Medureville. Luckily I had a backup UK hat in the floorboard. I had picked a lot of brains and read countless comments and reviews about Midtown Table. Most that I trust were all positive but a few randoms poo poo'd their reviews. It wasn't just chicken and gravy I craved that day, I also craved Mom's lasagna. A trusted regular of mine (Mr. Parker) hailed Midtown's as one of the best. Surprisingly I've never visited a Medure Brother's concept but recognize their reputation for exceptional dining. From the back parking lot entrance there is no way to see what you're walking into. Just inside is a foyer type area with host stand and sitting area leading into the dining room. The hostess offered a smiling greet and explained it would be about 20 minutes for a table. I gave her my name and headed to the bar to wait. On the right was a food expo area separating the brick oven pizza and Sauté line from an elegant dining area. The smiling Chef was working several entrees as well as 3-4 Neapolitan pizzas. I stopped and watched impressed for a few minutes. At the bar Olivia (Code name Olive ) was shakin and stirrin some cocktails . I ordered a Bloody Mary and after a little small talk decided to stay at the bar. Olivia explained that all of their pastas, sauces and bread were made in house. Over her shoulder was a great view of the large outside patio dining area complete with a BYOP putting green. It was hot but the patio had plenty of diners. Lydia joined Olive behind the bar and both explained menu items and offered suggestions. The choices were all brutal. I was pulled in so many directions like Barbie in a bikini shop, but I stuck to my guns. I ordered Truffle Fries with Garlic Aioli and Parmesan-Reggiano as an appetizer. My entrées were the Cured Meats Neapolitan Pizza and the 8 Layer Lasagna with Bolognese Sauce. For dessert I went with Lydia's White Chocolate Bread Pudding suggestion. I had two Bloody Mary's, one by each bartender and both were equally delicious. With my entrees I ordered the Daou Vineyards "Pessimist" Petite Syrah . It had a little attitude but still humble enough to compliment my red sauces. I must say that I loved the flavor of the shoestring style Truffle Fries and Aioli, though I generally prefer a larger fry cut. The Neapolitan pizza was delicious. Fresh from the oven, piping hot and generously portioned with toppings. The center part of the crust could have been a little more done but I know it's characteristic of this style pizza so next time I'll simply ask for crisper crust. The real Don of the gang was the Lasagna with Bolognese. Layer after layer of Sicilian Sauce, Ricotta, Basil and mozzarella immersed in an eccentric meat sauce(additional cost). Props for the Vegetarian and Bolognese option here allowing more guests to enjoy. The Bread Pudding was excellent and sweetly to the point. I wish it was a few ounces bigger, I couldn't help compare it to Ruth's Chris which is huge. I added an order of House Bread and extra side of Bolognese to take home with leftovers to make sure this meal would stretch through the week. I look forward to my next visit and encourage anyone on the Southside to treat themselves to a casual yet elegant meal in a beautiful setting with exceptional service delicious choices and overall fair prices. -- eating dinner at Midtown Table. read more

I loved that the ice cube in my drink had a frozen flower in it. Super cute! The burrata was so good, I highly recommend that as an appetizer. I ordered the Gorgonzola gnocchi. I wasn't super hungry that night, so it ended up being a great portion size for me. If I had been hungry that night I don't think I would have filled up on it and would have needed a salad. Though the dish was smaller than I expected, the taste was amazing. You can tell they make their pasta in house. The bar area is pretty small so if you don't have a reservation, it might be hard to grab a last minute bite to eat here. If my girlfriends asked to meet here in the future I'd gladly accept the invite and explore the menu more. read more

I've dined at Midtown so many times, I can't believe I haven't reviewed it. And I can't believe I never signed up for the loyalty program. The thing I like most about Midtown is that it is so much more pleasant than most other restaurants in the Town Center area. We usually opt for the outside seating area. This can get somewhat cacophonous from all the children imitating screech owls. But it feels nicer than sitting next to a parking lot in the shopping center. The food is great as all Medure restaurants are known for their high quality cuisine. The fish of the day is always excellent although a little pricey depending on the market for today's particular species. The pastas are all great and made in house. I like every pasta item I have selected. The apps, soups and salads are all top notch. The white bean soup with veggies is really good. The cocktails are all very good. They have cask aged batch cocktails which are very delicious. They also have frozen cocktails which are fun. I have had some of the best random conversations at the bar while waiting for a table. Wine selection is pretty good. I like the Poggio chianti. So avoid the ant hill of the so called town center and go to Midtown. read more
