My nails look great! Lisa did an awesome job. The salon itself is a little aged in appearance and didn't seem to be the cleanest. I didn't see any UV sanitizers or barbicide. That is what's making me rethink going back here. read more

I love this place seriously! Was recommended by a friend to try this nail shop out & forever loyal. I have had a hard time finding consistency when it comes to my nails. I love that they are all friendly and do an awesome job with my nails. They do an awesome job with nail art don't forget to ask for Lisa! Even Sophie is great with French manicures! Love the prices here too! Make sure to make an appointment ahead of time. Walking in can take a bit of a wait. I personally would prefer to get my nails later in the day whenever everyone is headed to dinner like 5:30 to 6 pm due to the wait times. They have good parking spots too which is a plus especially in this area. This is my go to place whenever I need my nails done when I go up to Charlotte. read more

My bff recommended Lisa to me so much, I was almost forced to come here. Pros: Lisa is a real pro. She's friendly and does an awesome job. I'd recommend her especially for the ladies who are looking for a more naturally glam look. I got tips and SNS done here and they looked very pretty and natural. Cons: Plan to spend a couple hours here. Not too many nail techs available and they work on more than one person at a time. I hated this. Also, they could spice up their color selection just a bit. I've never been one for getting my nails done much, and always really did them at home. I started going to see Lisa in December, and it's been the best nail experience I've ever had. The nails never break, they hold up and look great for 3.5 weeks. She doesn't shy away from designs or make me feel rushed. My favorite nail salon I have found in the clt area! I'm a nurse and am pretty rough with my nails, however I can get at least 3 weeks out of my nails vs 1 1/2-2 weeks at other salons. They are quick and precise and truly do an amazing job. 10/10 recommend read more

This was my first time here, and definitely not my last. Phil was my nail tech. He was quick, but very detailed. This is the first time a salon has worked with me and didn't turn away my design! He was committed to making my experience a good one, and that he did. Everything about the salon was great. I waited about 20 minutes before getting serviced with two people in front of me... are you kidding? That's FAST. And I have to add that the playlist was poppin. I tried my best to like this place because it was referred to me by a friend. However, the owner has no people skills. Especially for paying customers. She is rude and demeaning. She constantly talked about her Wi-Fi and why it was slow and not having money. That probably explains why the place is outdated and very dirty! I mean to each their own... if you want to go, but there are so many other nicer salons who provide a great service for their clients that you can go to before this shop. I found Midtown Nails, when I was in the middle of a nail crisis from one of Charlotte's "Upscale" Nail Spa's. 11 days after getting my nails done there, I had 3 broken nails & I was loosing more daily. I'm currently into the SNS trend at this time, even though my last attempt didn't go so well. I did what any nail addict would do... I went to IG to find the best SNS I could find in Charlotte! I came across the Midtown Nails pg & saw some of the most beautiful ombré SNS nails in Charlotte. I called and set up an appointment w/Lisa at the Kings Dr location. I can't lie, I was nervous & excited about getting my nail life at the same time. The morning of my appointment, I looked at my broken nails & said "it can't get worse than this" lol. I arrived at Midtown Nails & received a warm welcome from everyone there. All of the ladies are very friendly & knowledgeable about the products. This immediately put me at ease. The SNS soak off I had was the best. I really like the hand warmers. The color & shape for my toes was beautiful & I was excited about finally getting SNS ombré. I let Lisa pick out the color that complimented my skin & she picked such an amazing natural color. A lot of places aren't good at that. She also put tips on my broken nails & did the SNS. A lot of places I've been to told me that 1. You can't ombré SNS, & 2. You can't SNS tips, I guess they don't know what Lisa knows, because Lisa did all of those things very well. One of the many things that made me happy about Lisa is she used quality professional products (no MMA there) & she has a large selection of them. She's a true knowledgeable professional & she does an awesome job, without taking all day doing it. I stopped in today to get my dip polish removed. The nail tech was rude and rough with my hands. I sat with the foil on my nails for 40 minutes. There is zero reason for this, all the polish had soaked off long before that. Their prices are unreasonably high considering the place has no sanitary precautions, is extremely dated and not kept up. I will not be returning here even though it's walking distance from my home and I would encourage others to think twice as well. read more

I always receive fast service and consistently good manicures here, but the thing that will keep me from coming back is the lack of sanitation at this salon. Nothing is sterilized. The cuticle cutters come out if the drawer dirty, like they have clearly been used on other people all day before getting to your nail beds. Same with all other instruments and files. The anxiety over possibly being accidentally nicked by an unsterile instrument is just not worth it to me. Such a shame, this place would be amazing otherwise! read more

Very dirty nail shop. They reuse the SAME file all day, buffers, tools. I literally saw the girl rinse it under water and use it on someone else. Prices are high for an unsanitary establishment. They should close down due to how unhygienic they are. Not worth it!! Do not go!!!! You have to pay $5 to have them scrub your feet with a USED pumice stone and $15 to get your cuticles pushed and cut. Waste of time and money. read more

I Absolutely love midtown nails. I originally found them through Instagram by looking for someone in Charlotte who does SNS nails. Best nail find ever! Whenever I walk in I am greeted by name and made to feel at home. Lisa and everyone that works there are so sweet and kind. I am a very picky person when it comes to my nails and Lisa does a wonderful job every single time. I really don't have to nit pick about anything because they are always perfect! I get complements all the time and refer everyone to midtown nails. The attention to details and the quality of the service is top notch. I could make my nails last 3-4wks or more if I really wanted to and never have a problem with chipping or lifting or looking awful. It is a small salon, which I love, so making appointment is a good idea or you will probably end up waiting, which is totally worth it. read more

I'm not huge on manicures because I've got my own UV lamp at home, but a couple of months ago I decided I wanted the potentially-still-in-fashion "claws" you see on stylish people these days. Wanting to make sure I'd do it the right way if I was going to commit to something so different, I started my research to find the perfect place that could deliver what I wanted. Enter Lisa at Midtown Nails. She's quick, she's super friendly, professional, and makes sure you're happy no matter what. I changed my mind at the last second on what style I wanted, and she adapted, no problem. I had stiletto nails and she made sure I knew how to take care of them! I went in about two weeks later for a fill-in where I changed my color and style (this time an almond shape), and she was just as great. My first time I had no appointment and I got in under the wire, but two people who came in after me were told there was about a 45 minute wait (if this happens to you, it's worth the wait). I made an appointment when I went back for the fill-in, and she was able to see me right away. Not only that, but it was 2.5 weeks later and Lisa remembered my name and details of our last conversation! Everything looked clean to me; all the nail techs were super friendly and speak English to the guests and to each other. I recommend this place to everyone now! read more

The staff here is very friendly and the inside of the shop is very cute. I love how calm it is in here. My nail tech was very nice. They offer you a drink with your service. Though making an appointment is your best bet. They have great service, a LOT of gel and SNS colors and can even do designs with the SNS. Like marble, gold foils, chrome powders, Ombré, etc... My nails last 3 weeks! I always get SNS. LISA will give you life! read more

My first appointment with Phil was great. The second visit the young lady that did my nails not so good. I noticed the owner and staff only engage and conversate with certain clients. Very disappointed given the magnitude of positive responses... The only reason for 1 star is the woman who was doing my gel manicure/pedicure was nice and not overly talkative. That being said... I had to tell her to correct the nail shape twice.. and was still done incorrectly. My nails were filed too short, the French gel manicure looks sloppy and to top it off.. was $25 more than my usual place (Tiptoe Nails in Plaza Midwood)... Definitely will not be returning to this salon. Side note- there were ants crawling over the manicure table, no toilet paper in the bathroom, urine all over the toilet seat and the bathroom sink clogged. read more

Horrible. You can see thru my nails. Gel neon. $45 for a gel fill in! Guy doing my nails got powder in my wine that he didn't want to offer. Then didn't offer me more. Had to ask a different employee for it. Don't go to this shop. Didn't get a hand massage like I watched everyone else get. They don't do the best job or care if your nails look crazy. read more

Let me start by saying that the guy that did my nails did a great job. However, from the moment I walked in I got the sense I wasn't welcomed. I felt like I was being watched. Kind of like when your shopping and one of the store employees are hanging around pretending to be working it their actuality watching you to see in your stealing. The one girl Mimi, kept staring at me like she expected me to run out the shop without paying. The whole vibe was off. Wouldn't recommend people of color going to this shop. read more

I called & was able to push my appointment time back and add polish removal to my service. I requested polish removal, manicure, Dazzle dry, & a design. Right before the polish removal started, I informed the nail tech that there was only gel polish on my nails. The gel polish was a little stubborn during removal. Imo, the polish just needed to be filed down a little more. The nail tech made the assumption that I had hard gel on my nails. I didn't. She then put a stronger polish removal that was applied the same way nail polish is applied. I had started removing some of my polish before the appt. My left pinky had the least amount of polish, but the same amount of remover was applied to that finger as was applied to fingers with more polish, and she started with my right hand. We'd discussed possibly switching to a gel mani. By the time she made it to my left hand, she was mentioning how my fingers were red, not considering that I'd mentioned the tingling. She thought it was best to stay with Dazzle Dry; not a problem. By the time we were towards the end of polish application, she mentioned that the designs used with Dazzle Dry would be different than the regular designs. I still had nail art as part of my requested service. She decided that my polish color choice didn't need a design. I was given the nail files & lotion used during my appointment. I'm still looking for a new nail salon, unfortunately. After this $80 appointment, I didn't believe Frenchies would be my new nail salon.

During my first visit, I requested a design the nail tech said she could do, but ultimately could not, so I settled for a simpler design and paid without issue. For my fill-in appointment, I arrived on time for my 5:30 PM appointment, but my service did not begin until 6:00 PM. I showed the same nail tech the design I wanted, and she confirmed she could do it. Unfortunately, she struggled throughout the service, repeatedly removing and restarting the design. By the time the salon was closing, my nails were still not finished. After nearly two hours, around 7:45 PM, I politely asked for the design to be removed and a plain polish applied instead. I did not raise my voice or cause a scene, and I even apologized for the tech having to stay past closing. I paid in full and left calmly, although I was unhappy with the service. The following morning, I received a text from someone claiming to be a manager, stating that I was BANNED from the salon like I'm some kind of criminal. I found this unprofessional and disappointing. At no point was I rude or disrespectful. I was patient, communicative, and understanding, even when the service could not be completed as agreed. I would have appreciated an apology or accountability from an incompetent nail tech rather than being dismissed for calmly expressing dissatisfaction with a service that was not delivered as promised. What I received instead was deflection and lazy management. Sounds like a lawsuit for discrimination. Be blessed.

My then 92 year old uncle only wanted every other month appointments so I paid $620 for 2024. Unfortunately, my uncle died before using his 2024 appointments. Although Melissa asked me to give her two months for a refund, which I did, and she sent me a photo of the refund precessing a month ago - still no refund and only long, dramatic diatribes instead from her. This was my experience and I would not recommend this company and would not want other customers to fight for refunds and deal with all of this nonsense. I believe she just got back from a month long vacation which makes it worse. I hope this helps others who may be thinking of using her services.
