I've come here several times (for body work and for service) and had stellar experiences. Ron is warm, professional, and very honest in his recommendations. He did a major repair of a dent/scratch in my roof and it came out looking brand new. He doesn't take advantage of his customers like dealerships usually do and only recommends what actually needs to be done. Charged us $135 for a diagnostic on a 2005 Corolla. The car was brought in because it lost power steering. They had the car for three days and no repairs were done on it and they couldn't figure out what went wrong.They gave us a huge laundry list of stuff that needed to be fixed (all of which we new about before we dropped off the car). Roy at Midtown Auto Care did a very nice job fixing my Toyota Tundra. I needed the antenna fixed, a mirror replaced, and some dents removed. I had previously been told by other shops that these dents could not be removed. Still, they all came out and my truck is looking much better. Also , he does superior repairs , is quite friendly , & is very reasonable in his chargers . I had spilled an entire bottle of windshield washer fluid in the trunk of my car, and despite having cleaned it thoroughly, there was still an odor. I took my car into Midtown Auto Care so that they could access the situation and carry out the best course of action. Eventually it was decided that they would shampoo the trunk and the carpet of my car. After their work, I have not noticed any offending odor. I have taken my car here to get inspected for the past two years. The first time, the guy at the front desk was very rude, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt and came back this year. Again, he was very rude. Another customer came in while I was waiting and he was so rude to him that the customer just walked out. The guy at the front desk mumbled "so stupid" about him after he left. The technicians are quick and nice, but I'll take my business somewhere else next year. read more

I take my cars there when they are out of warranty and find that the repairs are just as good as the dealership would do but for a heck of a lot less. Ron Harvey, the owner-manager, is super. As a female that has to take care of all car maintenance for her car, it can be hard to find a mechanic or auto place where you feel like you're not being taken advantage of, but I've found that at Midtown Auto Care. I felt that Ron and his team were upfront, honest, and trustworthy. The price was also great. Midtown Auto Care provides the best customer service and knowledgeable maintenance of any auto shop I have ever visited. I recently had body work done on my BMW X5. The owner, Ron, got me in right away, helped me file the claim with my insurance company and even played phone tag with the adjuster until all of my questions were answered. He explained the repair to me, took me to get my rental car (and waited with me while it was being prepared) and gave me a fair price on the work. The shop detailed my vehicle as a gift for using their service! And I had my BMW back in my garage in a timely manner, even considering it was the holidays. This is my second time working with Midtown, the first, I needed some upholstery work completed. They have a phone book of experts they can call for interior and specialty paint jobs so he got me in touch with the right guy and they did the work at the Midtown shop. My car (Nissan) had a problem not starting three times over the past 6 months period and took the car to this shop. Ronald (a staff in this shop) said he took care of the problem and paid over $500. The car ran fine for the next few weeks. My wife drove this car to Austin from Houston with her friend and the car stopped in the middle of freeway - a very dangerous situation. Luckily a good Samaritan helped her take the car to a nearby Toyota shop but the car started fine there and they could not find the problem. Anyway, Toyota advised her to take the car to Nissan. We drove to Nissan and found the problem to be a sensor. They replaced it and fixed it. I showed Nissan we already got services for the same problem from Midtown Auto Care and showed them the service items. But they said everything Midtown Auto Care did was just a regular maintenance service not solving this problem (car not starting and stopping). Few days later, we called Ronald and explained the situation but he became very defensive. He said everything he did was right and they could not find any problem with it (even though I clearly explain the problem). At that time he said the fuel additive will clean the tank and fix the problem. I said then why didn't you tell me at that time you could not find the problem and solve it so that we could have taken the car to a Nissan service center. Now he said he never told me that he fixed the problem. He did not apologize at all and only defended him. I thought they were good people and we have been going there for the past two years. We are not going back to them. read more
