I recently visited the Interstate Battery Center in Killingworth Ct. I was in need of a generator…read morebattery. The clerk came out with two. He wanted $90.00 for the one that would have best fit my machine. I asked if he had anything less expensive. He answered that this particular battery was usually sold at $115.00. When I explained, in a very nice way, that I had seen a similar battery on line for $30.00, his answer was, " Well, why don't you just go and buy it on Line? Have a nice day." I am at a loss as to how a company can be allowed to treat customers Like this. The first clerk I had handed my battery over to someone eled because he didn't want to deal with it. The clerk was rude. I was lied to about the closing time. Maybe they didn't want to stay later than 5:00? The others in an adjoining office were foul mouthed, and very derogatory to women. The office was not dirty: it was filthy and obviously hadn't been cleaned in quite some time if at all. There was assorted parts and pieces strewn all over the desk and floor and there was nowhere to even sit down. The place needed a thorough cleaning both inside and out. The place exhibits none of the seven tenets of operation that are listed in Interstates web site. I wonder why they are still in business. Bottom line, I walked out because I was not going to get gouged by this guy. The only reason I give a 1 rating is because there is no opportunity to rate a zero or negative numbers. This whole establishment needs a bunch of work. How to treat customers would be top on my list. If you are ever in need of a battery, go ANYWHERE rather than Interstate In Killingworth. In fact, run as fast as you can in the other direction.
