Been going to Block Jewelers for about 7-9 years. With all kinds of jewelry & watch repairs. I've always been treated with respect and experienced good quality workmanship. Recently I brought three rings in. One of which needed to be sized down 1/2 a size and all three requiring rhodium plating. Once I picked up my rings I noticed that they don't fit quite right and they were very tight when prior to this they fit perfectly. I brought them back and was told they all THREE were 1/2 a size smaller which was not the order I discussed with the owner Gary. After checking their own paperwork the owner came out to talk to me. I understand we're all human and mistakes happen but he went on to deny that he accidentally sized all three rings down and proceeded to blame me. He kept cutting me off when I tried to talk and tell him what we had discussed when I dropped the rings off. Kept raising his voice and finally after not allowing me to get in a word slammed my rings down on the front desk counter and told me to come back when I want them re-sized. (That's why I was there buddy). I told him that they must have cameras and to check the footage of the day I dropped them off since he won't let me speak. He told me that wouldn't matter since the cameras won't show anything. Whaaaat?! This guy is a bonafide jackass. Instead of owning up to his mistake he belittles and blames a long standing customer. What a gem of a guy! Take your jewelry elsewhere! They don't deserve your time and your money. I assume if I was a man I would've been treated differently. I sincerely hope he doesn't speak to his wife (if he has one) the way he spoke to me. If I could give his business a negative star rating I absolutely would. The ONLY one who was kind and treated me with dignity and respect during the rudest interaction I've ever had was Ray the gentleman that sits at the front desk. Thank you sir. read more

Block was once a fine jewlery store. I have had many things replaced and repaired there over the years. Having not gone there for a year I recently brought a small silver ring that belonged to my mother to be sized up. The cost was high at thirty dollars but I paid and picked it up a week later. Upon inspection I found nasty scrape marks to the face of the ring that weren't there when it was dropped off. The obnoxious and condesending older repairman told me that I was out of luck and that I'd have to deal with it. After getting loud ,Gary, the owner intervened between us and took the ring back to polish it. He was able to get most of the marks off. When I got it home I realized that they had oversized it by a TON. It literaly fell off my finger. I brought it back the next day and had a salesman there size my finger AGAIN and he took the ring back for repairs. This was on a Friday. On the following Monday the obnoxious and condecending repairman called and told me to come get my ring as they weren't going to work on it. This is the kind of "customer service" that these folks offer. You'd be well advised to find another shop for your repair business. I won't ever set foot in there again. I will say yes the place is a small spot but don't be fooled because this place delivers top-notch jewelry/watches/battery replacements & to boot is reasonably priced v. some other jewelry places I know no question. Why you'd legitimately ask me is more or less this let's say you got a watch you need a battery replaced some places would have your watch if it's a special sort they'd ship to another spot for a week or such time & charge nearly $30 but this place can do batteries for your watch & do for $5-10 (way lower wouldn't you agree) & you can get in & out of there easily & your time bit would only be a five-ten minute frame (WAY BETTER). Oh yes if you say hit a lottery win fall or get lucky in a casino or such this place does sell the major watch ones (Rolex/Tag Heuer/Citizen) & I bet you can do I suspect better pricewise & you would know your place is way more convenient to you in the area v. other which I'll leave nameless for my own reasons. Since there is no option to give no stars, I give one star. Gary Block is an a$s hole, plain and simple. He told me that he does not have 15 seconds to explain to customers that watch battery replacement does not include a waterproof guarantee. Does not have 15 seconds for customer service? So the watch I brought in for a new battery immediately leaked, and this is what I was told when I returned with the watch. He was a nasty, rotten person who fully deserves the terrible reviews. I give them a 1 star at best, my husband dropped off a few things that were repaired ok but one thing was a Pearl Bracelet that my Husband bought years ago, it took 1 month for them to get back and the Pearl Bracelet was NOT mine. It was a ugly bracelet and Pearls were darker and on top of that, it broke taking it off!!! A women knows her Jems but the Owner was Very Aguementive and the Jeweler hands looked like s mechanic!! So now I'm stuck with this thing because I had no pics of it!!! Run the other way!!!! read more
