Come here with my girlfriend for the first time, we didn't expect them to have like a dining area it was really nice. And the pizza we ordered had a good wait time. The service was great too.

Dined in at Middlefield pizza today. They offer several booths to sit in, with nice bright lights. The new owner is so pleasant and the wait staff friendly. Today we had wings with bbq sauce and garlic bread with mozzarella cheese. The bread was delicious with a nice garlic butter and topped with mozzarella cheese. The wings were crispy and moist with just the right amount sauce. All reviews prior to February 2024 should be disregarded as this place has a new owner.

    Greek salad

Highly recommend!! Had a delicious Greek salad with grilled chicken and stuffed grape leaves- the house dressing is amazing. The salad is huge! I ate about 1/4 of it! Chicken was very tender. Hubby had a lamb gyro with French fries and his meal was awesome too! Will definitely be ordering again! Service was great too!

Great food especially the grinder rolls. Small place with great service. Working my way thru the menu and everything has been delicious.

Max was exceptional, always smiling and attentive. (My daughters find.) She wanted to try a different pizza place. What kid doesn't like pizza right? And she is very particular with her cheese. First bite she approved immediately. Good wings, I would have preferred them less oily, and great mozzarella sticks . As a bonus we brought a large pie for home .

I think I ordered online for takeout and my order was ready within a reasonable time. I ordered a large chicken pesto specialty pizza and a small specialty pizza with standard pizza mozzarella, fresh mozzarella, and piped ricotta. I also ordered a penne all vodka and chicken cutlet. The crust on both pizzas was very good. Good char. A good mix of crispy and chewy. The chicken pesto pizza was terrific. It has chicken cutlet slices, pesto, cherry tomatoes, mozzarella and ricotta. Really every part of this pizza was great. Highly recommend. I ordered the 3 cheeses specialty pizza almost out of curiosity, because I've never seen anybody go all in on those cheeses like that. The good news is, that within that pizza, were the components of a very good pizza. The blend of these cheeses didn't completely work for me flavor-wise though. Also, these cheeses produced a bit too much grease. I'd order just the sauce and standard mozzarella next time and I bet it would be very good. The penna alla vodka was a chunky sauce version. The noticeable chunks were mostly onions. I'm used to more of a blended version. I respect that this dish has its own vibe, but I personally prefer a blended version. The sauce flavor was good. The chicken cutlet was very good. I bet they make a great chicken parm. Service was friendly and efficient. Apizza Heaven won't win any beauty contests. The inside is functional. There were a few tables. The outside could use some attention. There were a few random things around the general area. I definitely noticed them when I was walking in. I think people would have a better first impression if those details are taken care of. Overall, I'd rate my experience 4.25 Stars. But I could definitely see getting up to 4.5 or 4.75 on future visits.

If you like New Haven style pizza, which is arguably the 'esemplare' of all pizza, then visiting The Little Rendezvous is a MUST visit if you live within 90-min. Plan a trip to visit some store you want to go to, a beach visit or whatever, just find a way to circle The Little Rendezvous into the trip! The crust is thin with a crackery-crunch, the sauce is at a another level and the mozz and roni are high-quality deliciousness! Rendezvous stands tall with any of the well known top-3 pizza joints in New Haven. Dave's score of 9.1 (if you are unaware of the reference, then pizza isn't your thing) is right on point, and I'd go as far as scoring it slightly higher at a 9.2 based on my visit. The building is something out of folklore. The building is all of about 20ft. wide, and when you enter, it is immediate, Steve (owner/chef) is all about the pizza. To be clear, most will consider Rendezvous to be take-out only. There is zero decor, less signs made with cardboard and sharpie notifying you that wait times of hours are real..... so be sure to call ahead. You walk past the most basic seating area of 3-4 small tables with bare walls, and then proceed to walk down an oddly long and narrow sloping hallway which leads you to the service counter/kitchen which houses the 130-year old oven! It's honestly something you could only imagine out of a movie...... the hole in the wall that is creating high-quality, delicious pizzas! Why or how you ask? The answer is simple, Steve! The guy clearly has a passion for making pizza and has dedicated his life to doing so. I met the 'man-the myth-the legend' on my visit, and he kindly even took the time to chat with me. Bucket-list item checked off! Overall score = 5.0!!!

We arrived early on, what I thought was off hours and ordered in person, the wait time was 4 hours. I don't live far so it was easy to come back. The dining area is tight and pretty basic, so plan on wooden bench in limited space if you are dining in. I would also recommend calling way in advance with your order. As far as pizza goes, I have had the opportunity to sample most of the high profile places and understand why this place deserves to be on the list. The crust is pretty fantastic and overall a really good pie. When we went, there was no line. The grab and go was super simple, cash only. Order ahead, plan accordingly, and enjoy.

We are not often in Middletown, but we will definitely be back. This is a great place to stop, and I 10000% recommend it. Of course, I had the gluten-free veggie pizza, and I added pineapple because I am a pineapple-on-pizza person. Sue me, I am an islander. My partner had the shrimp pizza, not gluten-free, and ordered a medium. The size was honestly obscene for a medium. He kept asking to drive back down there every day after because he wanted it again. They do offer a free lot in the back, but judging by all the cars, Mondo is very popular on a Friday evening. Sure enough, there was a big line of people picking up orders, but we walked right in and were seated immediately. We started off with a beet salad, which was surprisingly delicious, combining candied walnuts and sweet orange and green apple slices with salty feta and tangy balsamic over a mountain of mixed greens. We then moved on to paninis, generous portions of meat and toppings on freshly baked, crispy bread. One of us chose more mixed greens tossed with dressing while the other chose crunchy French fries. We also ordered a third panini to go, the Mondo combo. We asked for fries; the kitchen accidentally gave us a salad. Our server, Heather N., saved the day by noticing the error and giving us both side orders. Mondo is family friendly, and there were plenty of children during our visit. As such, the volume was a tad loud and boisterous, but nothing obnoxious that would prevent us from returning.

Over the past 2 years the service & food quality has been in steady decline. My most recent visit was inexcusable and I won't return. We decided to visit for "reverse happy hour" as an alternative from our usual thirsday night visit to Esca. We had Michael for our server and sat upstairs in the lounge. We were brought menus as we were sat and we ordered drinks to start, but weren't sure on food yet. Our server then proceeded to visit our table 4 times over the next 15 minutes to ask if we wanted to place a food order. It felt rushed. The vibe : awkward. The music was so loud I couldn't hear my server, my date or anything else besides the droning voice of Amy Grey. She had no spacial awareness and didn't know when to shut up. Incessantly talking over every song and not realizing that a bar gig is inherently different from the radio. The food : mediocre. We ordered steak frites from the happy hour menu which noted that the steak was "marinated". The 4 piece of tepid steak that came to our table were covered in this cloyingly sweet sauce that tainted the entire dish. Since the steak was served atop the fries, this sauce caused the fries (straight from the Sysco box) to become soggy and absorb the sauce which made the fries not so appetizing. We followed that up with a Cheese Pizza which was pretty good. The pizza here is their saving grace, and this place would do much better as just a slice shop. The drinks : abysmal. I started with a Skittles fruited sour from Transcend Brewery that Sicily had on tap. I was excited because it's rare to find their beer on tap outside of the brewery. It was served in the wrong glass. The F&B manager at Sicily needs to do a better job at making sure the bar is properly serving drinks. Teku glasses are essential for fruited sours. It didn't taste the same as it did in the brewery, however, for $6 I decided to just chalk it up to inexperience. I followed the beer with a Paloma, which was advertised as $5 for happy hour. When I ordered from my server I pointed at the menu showing the tequila listed for $5. As soon as I tasted the drink that was brought to me, i knew it was way off. I asked my server to ask the bartender what was in the drink because it didn't taste right. He told me that the bartender said "grapefruit juice", which is not the proper mixer for a Paloma. A Paloma only has 3 ingredients - Grapefruit Soda (Squirt or Jarritos are acceptable), Tequila & Lime Juice - it's a very simple cocktail. If you didn't have grapefruit soda, which is the main ingredient in the drink, just tell me that... I would have picked something else. The service : Impersonal & rushed. When i sent back the drink, the affect of our server visibly changed, almost as if he was angry or insulted that I would send back a drink that wasn't made properly. He asked if I would like something else, but my confidence in the bartender to make a proper drink had waned and I stuck with water for the rest of the night. My date continued with a 3rd glass of wine. About 10 minutes after this, my date got up to use the restroom, and our server came over and handed me a box for the remaining pizza, without asking if we would like anything else or if my date was done with her wine. He whisked away the half full glass and dropped our check effectively ending our visit. We weren't ready to leave. My date came back to the table and asked where the rest of her drink was and I explained the our server cleared the table and dropped the check. She said "I guess it's time to go". The nail in the coffin was when I picked up the check to see that I was charged for a $16 "Casamigos" cocktail. So i suppose if i had continued to drink the Paloma he would have been happy to charge me $16 for a $5 happy hour drink. The whole experience was off-putting and we didn't feel welcome. It felt as if our server was just trying to turn tables as fast as possible. I won't be returning and recommend others to stay far away.
