Nice, hardworking young men. Welcoming staff. My car goes immediately into a stall for oil chsnge. So, what could be the problem? Young man tells me my car must have synthetic oil, brcause all the new cars require it. I had my owners manual in my hand, so i show him where that is not a requirement. He then tells me they go by the oil cap, which says s.a.e. i lose it laughing and stop him. He then says they dont have the weight i needed. I advised him that as a young man, he might not realize that lying to customers will make them go elsewhere. He confessed that the boss makes him push synthetic and if he doesn't, he loses his job. Great service all the time. Came in here to get my brakes checked and the mechanics are very helpful and always explain what needs to get done before doing it. Very busy on Saturdays unless you get here before 7. And even then it can take a while. Customer service is awesome and they make you feel like family everytime I've came in. read more

I came here based off of the reviews I saw here on yelp, and it was close to Ewa Beach where we live. I was not disappointed! Customer service is amazing the woman at the desk greets everyone as if they were family, and she seemed to have known every single person who came through the door so they obviously must have loyal clients. She was super nice, I had my two kiddos with me and she changed the channel to cartoons so they had something to watch (I didn't even think about asking) she was really good at checking on her customers to see how they were doing during their wait. She was very fast and efficient at her job no one had to wait on her and from what I could tell everyone seemed comfortable and welcome. My car needed a safety inspection and an oil change, was in and out in 45 min. I actually had my bag packed full of snacks and activities for the kids because I thought the wait would have been longer. I had a few people who were there before me but they were in and out so fast one right after the other, all safety inspections. I wish I could give them 0 stars. I called them at around 3:33pm today and told them I had no power steering that I had my power steering pump and hoses changed a couple of years ago at the pearl city Midas, than I asked him if he could look up my info on the computer he tells me he can't cause the pearl city midas has a different computer system and that I can bring the car in mon-sat and that they only take cars till 3:30 which he say it was 2 min ago so it's too late. I than call midas in Pearl city and right away Romel tells me to bring the car now I get to pearl city midas and told him what the guy told me at the Waipahu midas and he say that's not true that they have the same computer system. I guess the guy I was talking too was too lazy to look up my info. I guess I'm not going to bring my car here anymore to do my safety check which I usually do every year bad customer service I'm just going to stick with the pearl city midas read more

In the past, I've utilized different car service/repair companies for oil changes. At those places, I have had to wait at least two hours (if I was lucky). Not at Midas! By the time it took me to walk across the street to the ATM machine and grab a quick snack, my car was done and parked in the lot below. Went in for an oil change, took about 10 mins just for them to get my information in the system!! The guy who helped us didn't even know what he was doing on the computer, so took about another 10 mins, so total, 20 mins! Unreal!! Then bad enough, they leave oil on my hood!! They don't wipe down their hands when finished with thee oil change!! And to top it off, they bundle the paper floor mat and leave it in my car! That pissed the hell out of me! Terrible service. They are high priced and do not stand behind their work. I spent $1200 to replace an air condition compressor and accumulator. Compressor failed in 50 days. They refused to warranty. They did nothing. I would not recommend them to any military people or anyone else for that matter. read more

I recently had an oil change and although the service took less than 15 minutes, I was disappointed with the quality of work and the overall process. First of all, I had to remind the receptionist that the tire rotation was not completed. Moreover, I did not receive an actual Midas checklist to verify the point inspection (I always get a check list at any Midas location to confirm any deficiency, etc). I asked the technician if my car needed some type of attention, but he replied as he was walking away without any eye contact that 'eveything was goood." In addition, reminder sticker was incorrect in terms of next mileage and next scheduled maintenance. I used go to Midas Dillingham, but because of my move this Midas location is only 5 minutes away. I will most likely take the drive back to Dillingham location for future services because they have always been professional and are very thorough with the overall maintenance. Sometimes speed of service is not always the way to go. read more

I was amazed by the customer service I received today from aunty lisa. I was having a hard time watching my 15 month old child and figuring out how to get my insurance to show that it really is in hawaii for the safety check and get my oil change and air filter changed. It ended up taking awhile to get everything done but aunty Lisa was so sweet and came over and comforted me and waived my safety inspection fee. She did not have to do that and as a young mom I was so grateful for her generosity and great customer service. ABSOLUTELY love love the service!!!!!! I went to get my little sister's car safety inspection done after I got off work and called Midas. The lady on the phone was extremely sweet!!!! Told me to come down now because last call was at 4pm. When I got there I finally got to put the nice lady voice to face and Lisa was just delightful!!!!!! I waited only 30 mins because the guys just went to lunch but I didn't mind at all. They got venting machines and had the preseason football game playing too, time flew by quickly! Definitely recommend this place to get your safety checks done!!!! The gentleman who did the inspection parked my car right in front from the door and hand me my keys right after I paid. The only bright side to this place is the manager Lito and Aunty Lisa up front. Been going here for service and safety checks but won't be coming here anymore. Was insulted by Gordo and Gary numerous times. Even on my last safety check. Gordo told me that my rims and tires didn't match up with my recon paper. But helllooooo! My stock rims were on. And I was told by recon that stock items don't count. So why would that make a difference? He ended up saying "well that's my problem." Is that how you treat loyal customers? Forget it. read more

Whenever we needed an oil change or worried about our car they always are there to make sure everything is okay. I also love that they don't make up stuff about your car if nothing is wrong or nothing needs to be changed then they will tell you up front. Decided to go get my oil changed on a whim and I know some friends who go here to have work done on their cars so I figured I'd check it out. Since it was a Saturday I figured I'd be there for a while. Not at all. Went through the speedy oil change area and wow it was speedy. Changed the oil, tapped off the fluids, checked the tires, vacuumed the car and this was all done within 15 minutes. Everyone was very professional and polite. I asked if they found any other issues because the last time I went to get my oil changed (won't mention where) they told me my clutch is going out and so is my battery. I was told everything looks good and they found no issues. I was impressed with the service and the speed. I definitely will continue to do business with midas. I had my car towed to this place because it didn't start. They charged me $1149.00 for a fuel pump assembly replacement! The price they charged me for the pump was $779.96 and $250.00 for labor.After I looked up the part online and called another garage for a price quote, I went back and requested the owner explain to me why the part is so expensive. He tried to tell me that "that's how it comes up in our system" and told me that they can only match someone else's price if its the exact same part number. Then he tried to get me out of there by telling me I needed to bring a written estimate from a different garage.Only after I argued back and forth and questioned why I should have to do this when they can pick up the phone themselves and get the estimate or have it faxed they finally called and the other garage was nice enough to fax the estimate there.In the end they finally matched the quote from Capitol Auto Service which is where I am going if I ever need another car repair while being stationed here. I've been going here for quite about 2 years or so(mostly simple stuff like fluid replacement and safety checks because it's close to my house). I went in to get a coolant flush, tune up and oil change. I pulled up to the service area and was greeted by a friendly service technician. He did a initial assessment and estimated it would cost about $500. Because i wanted to see the overall condition of my spark plugs, I requested THEY SAVE THE USED SPARK PLUGS(they didnt, even after they specifically wrote it down on the initial service order). They called me about an hour later and said it will cost an additional $400 because they discovered my vehicle has a distributer cap and rotor(2004 nissan frontier). When I get my receipt, I see that my vehicle was charged for 5 quarts which I know from the service manual and personal experience that my vehicle takes only 3.5 quarts to fill.(they charge $14 a quart of synthetic oil). The cashier was really nice though. Overall, my experience there is ok. They need to tighten up their shop a bit. Would i come back here again after this last experience?...no. read more
