These guys have great customer service. It's a small locally owned business. Hard working staff. They also are very quick with getting the job done. We had to get a safety check done and on our other car we had to change out the alternator. Had it in stock. Told us to give them a day but they ended up doing it within the same day. Car jobs are usually expensive. But there guys have good deals and quality work. Recommend this place. read more

Excellent service! Highly recommend! They are very trustworthy and friendly. All the workers that I came across with are the best!

Tai is amazing. I initially failed my state inspection because my registration was expired. So they gave me the forms and I got everything taken care of. But when I went back, I didn't have a new appointment. He squeezed me in because I'm going out of town. They are amazing and their appointments are the way to go. I did have one the first time, so you definitely need an appointment. But they are very kind. I'll be back. Bring cash for your inspection! $27. read more

Waipahu Auto Care - Safety times - Auto Repair Near Me - Waipahu, Hawaii

OMG why have I previously been going to places that do walk-ins only?! Waipahu Auto Care experience was so much better! Got an appointment one week out no problem, took me in right away (10 mins earlier than appointment), and literally was in and out within 5 mins from inspection - paper work/sticker - payment! Since it was quick, it was obviously a very brief interaction with Tai, but I could already tell he's friendly and great. Thank you Waipahu Auto Care for making this tedious annual thing so quick and painless! read more

This place is awesome! If you need a safety inspection for your car, this is the place to go. You can make an appointment or go on Saturdays (if you're willing to wait). The workers are so friendly and always ready to answer any questions you have. My wife's A/C was getting hot and she couldn't handle it anymore because of all the rain that was happening recently. Called and spoke with Ty for an estimate. He said come down and he'll take a look at it. Went down and he did a quick diagnostic and found the compressor defective. Quoted me parts and labor pricing. Gave the go ahead. They asked me if I had a ride home but I said I'll hang around for a bit in the waiting area and walk down the road for breakfast. Sat down and checked my emails and watched the Olympics on their tv. Next thing I know, Ty comes and tells me the car is done! Hahaha wth! I didn't even get to eat breakfast/lunch! That's some quick work! Paid my bill and took the long way home! It was a nice and cool drive back! I highly recommend Waipahu Auto Care! Great people and the best service! read more

I called them at 8:00am. I was told that it was a crazy morning but I would be able to come in at 10:00 am. To check my car and see if it could be fixed. Long story short they diagnose the problem and gave me a quote. I decided to have them fix my car. The quote was reasonable. They called me in 3 hours and my car was fixed and I'm so happy with them. They were very friendly and courteous. I have just found my car repair go to place. read more

They had to figure out what the problem of shaking steering wheel on our truck. He couldn't find anything loose so suggested we try to get wheels aligned, which he doesn't do. He did not charge me anything although it took awhile for him to do the diagnostics. Excellent service and terrific integrity and honest! I will go back for any future repairs. read more

Fantastic service! Quick and easy! I needed a safety inspection done right away. Did a walk-in on Saturday and was done super fast! Since I was late registering my car, I had to return on Monday for my appointment to finalize my safety check. It was done in a heartbeat. My tire pressure low light was also on, so I asked them to take a look and Tai was happy to oblige. It was done in no time flat, and Tai told me what to expect as far as the light going off. This is my go-to shop in the future. Tai and his workers are very hard working and I get the sense that Tai has a passion for helping people. I love that about this place and will keep coming back because of it. Mahalo nui, Tai and team! You guys are a rare find! read more

Always our first choice if we're having any car troubles. Very reliable and good people!

Called for a safety check appointment but there is no slot until next week. This place is probably very busy. I can't comment about their service and staff friendliness because I haven't tried them yet . I can't wait until next week for a safety check appointment so I'll try another place. Some review says they accept walk ins but wasn't told that I can walk in read more

Looking for a place to get my safety check done. Noticed the great reviews this place has, I just called to make an appointment and I can tell already that this is a great place. The man on the phone was very friendly and polite I didn't feel rushed, he very calmly took my appointment and information. I will update my review once I go in for my safety check. Although I don't love having to bring my vehicle any where, this place makes it all good. They are to the point and very kind and understanding that we all have to include the cost into our regular routines. Work provided is high quality, high value, and they are straight up about if they're able to do the service you are requesting and the estimated amount of time. Highly recommend! Hard workers, local small business, honest people. I've went to them for brake jobs as well as well as routine maintenance and some other mechanical issues as well. read more

Tai & Sharon were very professional & friendly. I tell everyone that Tai is an "engine whisperer." He diagnosed the idling problem right away and was able to fix it. I had to wait a bit to get an appt but it was worth the wait & worth driving to the shop from town. Not only is Tai excellent in his work but he is someone l can trust fully. I was referred to him by a friend who knows a lot about car maintenance/repair. I also felt like what he quoted me was much less than what l have expected. Overall, l feel so lucky to have found a trustworthy mechanic & l will continue to support their business. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Thanks, Tai & Sharon! read more

Mahalo to the staff for squeezing me in for a safety check. I didn't have an appointment, but I drove up and they said they were booked two weeks out. But they looked on their books and was able to squeeze me in. I've always driven past here as a kid coming back from baseball practice. The other safety check places were kinda rude. The staff here was so friendly. Mahalo! See you guys next year, with an appointment! read more

Everywhere needs an appointment for a safety check, during the hustle to find a spot we called Waipahu Auto Care. They answered immediately and were very clear around appointments and needing but they had availability, in and out within 15 minutes. The quality, service, and knowledge here is awesome. The value is great and they always let me know if something needs changing soon.

There is nothing bad to say about this place! Other than I don't want them to get too busy! Tai is the most honest mechanic I have ever met. As a female, we are always skeptical about taking a car when it breaks because there's a good chance we'll get "ripped off" for the lack of knowledge. But not Tai, he is honest, will fix only what needs to be fixed and he even fixed my car quicker than promised! Second time around I got stuck on the side of the road 5min away from the shop and be was going to send someone to come and help me! The whole team is amazing. His better half who runs the cash register is friendly and always happy. This is the only place I will take my car from now on! read more

Fast and simple. Have to schedule but once you're there it's simple and quick! Always take all my cars there for safety checks.

This is the second time I have taken my car here. Very friendly and honest. I'd definitely go back. Always try and support local businesses.

Have taken my car there for several years and have never been disappointed. They've always been upfront regarding what the problem was and what it would take to fix it. It's no more expensive than other shops and you definitely get what you pay for. Quality work and parts, no cheap foreign imitations. Even if it's an emergency and you didn't schedule an appointment they have always tried to squeeze you in. Highly recommended, very difficult to find OG repair places anymore who stand by their work. Definite shout-out to Tai and Ricky, really appreciate you guys. read more

One of the hardest tasks in life is to find a trust worthy mechanic. Luckily, I stumbled upon Waipahu Auto Care center, just a few minutes from my house. I initially took my daughter's vehicle in to get a safety check, but being anal about car maintenance, I decided to have the vehicle's freon checked since it already had 127K miles on it. When the owner Tai checked the freon, he also checked the interior cabin filter on his own and found it a mess. I pride myself in making sure I keep my cars maintenance up to date, but I guess I missed this one! Tai ordered the filter and had it by later that afternoon. I drove back to the shop later that afternoon and he replaced the filter at no extra charge! This was my first visit to Tai's shop, but it will definitely NOT be the last! read more

I can't believe I found the BEST mechanic right here in my back yard, Waipahu! Tai Nishimura, owner, of Waipahu Auto Care is the friendliest, most caring, and the most honest mechanic I can ever imagine. He treated me like family despite me being a "first time customer." His service was immediate and explained every step to me. He even recommended for me to go a "cheaper route." Seriously, who does that? Thank you very much Tai for the best service I have ever experienced from a mechanic in my life! I will forever be a loyal customer for life! read more
