Thursday they said they couldn't look, would bump it to top of priority for Friday. Friday afternoon said they'd do it by end of day or first thing Saturday. Saturday morning they said they may or may not get to it that day. called mr lube a few blocks away. they said bring it in, they'll look right away. went to kal to get car. started to put on spare. they said that's not allowed. I asked them to do it. they said no, best they could do is give air so I could get off their parking lot. I went to mr lube. they looked at it right away, found nail near sidewall (not repairable). put on spare for me, no charge. now I need new tires. won't be from Kal Tire.

Today though, I was beyond impressed. Last night I discovered that one of my tires had gone nearly flat, the night before I was to leave to the interior, to go to my parents 40th wedding anniversary party. I contacted Paul at Fountain Tire first thing this morning, and was told to bring it in so they could have a look. They got my car in within 10 minutes of me dropping it off ( without an appointment) and discovered a hole in the interior sidewall which meant it had to be replaced instead of repaired. They popped the spare on so that I could be mobile and continue packing up all my things for my road trip while the new tire was on its way to the shop. Exactly at the time I was told the new tire would arrive, they took my keys again and got the new tire on, within 20 minutes of the tire arriving. So, without an appointment, I was able to take my car in, get a new tire, and be back on the road in under 4 hours. I was even able to make my ferry reservation and now I'll be able to make it to my parents very important celebration. Thank you all so much, I can't tell you how much I appreciate your speed and efficiency this morning! Beyond excellent customer service!!

We just moved here from Alberta and I was not looking forward to the inspection in the least. When moving into Alberta I was scammed and ripped off getting it done there a couple of years back. I Googled local repair shops, landed on Searles Auto Repair and their reviews were outstanding. They booked me within 2 days and I dealt with Blake. I had a good idea in mind of what the cost should be going in and there were no surprises ... Blake called me after initial scans and preliminary check. He called again with final estimated costs and at the end of the day came in under his quoted amount. It was interesting that the first thing catching my attention was that the windows in the building were spotless. The shop and grounds were pristine. Clean shop = clean work on my truck. Read between the lines on the negative reviews ... these guys are top shelf. Trustworthy, honest and certainly not out to gouge (lol!) They could have really split hairs on my inspection and simply made me bring all required items legally up to provincial standard and pass. I had a slight irritating rattle in the front end and have taken to 2 different shops who could not find or fix it. Blake fixed it .. smooth as silk now. I would never consider going anywhere else. Prices are fair, quality of work is excellent, and above all, Searles are professional, honest and trustworthy.

THEN they made me wait for a few more hours only to wait for their call they hadn't even looked at it again they were waiting for me to say yes to the part before they looked any further . Total waste of time and a tow this is such a bullshit shop They didn't even look at it for 20 minutes before they try to charge me $1000 on top of what the cost is not to mention all the labour on top of that and then God knows what else they would've told me I needed replacing too. after I told them I know how much a new carb costs they were so rude to me didn't even put my doghouse back on properly and damaged my rug I custom put in there that I specifically asked them to please be careful with. it's a custom boogie van. do not let these guys scam you especially if you're a woman. they should be ashamed of themselves . All the guys at Lordco laughed when I told them that and said wow what a joke as well as the other mechanic shops I contacted too. that is outrageous he said the PART ALONE 1300$. not cost of labour and then adjusting it would be all on top of that lol fuck these guys . They did my brakes, pads rotors and calipers…read more Within 6 months a caliper was leaking going down the highway. I went in for them to inspect and then repair for free, but they told me there was no problem. I went to parkside (I recommend them) who confirmed the issue. I went back with the confirmation of the issue and now they agree and repair. At the 13 month mark my other caliper starts leaking. I go in, and they'll do the repair but I'll have to pay labor because it's more than a year. I don't even trust them to do the work. I could have and should have done it all myself initially, I'm paying for my laziness still. This is all on top of their general untrustworthiness. I would expect that if you went in to a mechanic for an issue and what you thought was wrong was not actually wrong, then they would tell you and not do the work and charge you for it. Speedy are not a good mechanic like that. They'll happily take your money. They changed my steering pump at my request when the issue was actually the shaft bearing being rusty.
