Update: no we will not contact as we no longer need the services. It has been confirmed you are a scam Worst in CT. We left this place hysterical laughing at the twerps. The guys at the front act like they're running a mob business. Complete scam. Online they seem efficient and simple, make an appt, state what you need and a timeframe and they approve it. When arriving they said our 10-12 timeframe was.... Not what they were gona do. Instead they said leave it til END OF DAY to even diagnose. When we were clear we know the issue and were from out of state and had to get home they tried lieing and trying to intimidate us into what we needed. I told them no problem we have other cars to use. They became angrier and angrier when realizing we werent idiots just like 10 yr old school bullies who turn red when their antics dont work on you. We come to find out by asking others in the neighborhood that Midas is known to scam. They present as an organized online and then when you get there they hoard your car for 3 days before "looking" and then triple over charge you for some nonsense. Lastly we reported them to BBB who says they have gotten enough reports to fine them for scamming. We advised a few others and posted a public video hopefully they go out of business soon. read more

Very pleased for the second time. First time with an old Subaru I bought for my niece. Brought it to diagnose exhaust leak figuring I'd do what ever it was myself. Ended up simple gasket on a pipe. $15 is all they charged me. Second time today 96 mustang went in for exhaust manifold. They found a crack in my catalytic converter while doing the work. Didn't even try to sell a replacement. Instead said it was a small easy weld fix. Only $30 charge!! Both times they could have easily tried up selling. I come from a family history of mechanics both my family and in-laws. Usually do my own repairs but without a lift this time around I couldn't. So I know when I'm dealing with honesty. read more

I brought my car in because the front end was loose. It also pulled to one side or the other upon acceleration. I was told that all of my engine mounts were broken and they quoted me an estimate of $1,300.00 I brought it to another auto repair shop only to be told there was nothing wrong with the engine mounts. The mechanic brought me under the car to show me. He pointed out that one bolt was sheared off at the bottom but, that it was still holding as were the rest of them. They charged me $70.00 for the estimate. I won't be going back to them. read more

Got my brakes replaced and an oil change. They did a courtesy battery test and when I picked up my car, my power windows didn't work anymore. I explained that the multimeter they used probably caused a short (I'm a professional engineer) and that a fuse or switch got fried (very easy and small fix). The dude said that it was impossible and that they don't use a multimeter, they use a special battery testing machine. I tried to tell him that the machine he's talking about is literally a fancy multimeter and he still denied that it was their fault. So I guess it's just a coincidence that after testing the high-voltage power source in my car, an electrical component failed. Not a good look guys. Especially when it could mean that you have an ungrounded "battery tester" that you should look at before one of your mechanics electrocutes himself. UPDATE: I took my car to another mechanic that works with my warranty coverage immediately after leaving. I didn't tell them anything other than that my windows had stopped working properly. It took them about 5 minutes to tell me that the battery was recently unhooked or tested improperly, causing a sensor to trip. They reset it in 10 seconds for free. I then told them about my recent Midas experience and they laughed. They agreed that it was definitely your fault. But that's impossible, right? read more

I went in for front brakes and after they replaced the rotors, pads and calipers the brakes felt soft and were making noise. Brought it back to find out they didn't put the bolts back in the calipers. Stay away! read more

Unfortunately i ran into some car trouble this week I started my car and i literally scared myself because my car was so loud so i knew there was something wrong !! I took it to one of the local mechanics who gave me some pretty bad news telling me I needed an entire exhaust system including the catalytic converter and it was going to be over $4000 so i decided to get a second opinion well the second opinion didnt do that type of work and assured me he was going to refer me to his buddy at Midas and he will help me out and he highly doubted it was going to be that much . So off to Midas I go and the great manager there helped me out so much he looked at my car right away he physically showed me exactly what was wrong and said i definitely did not need an entire system but I did need a catalytic converter he quickly ordered the part for me he told me he would have it there in the morning and would have my car sounding nice and normal later that afternoon for alot less then my first quote he also safety checked my car, that was pretty cool of him. He did have my car ready the next day sounding fabulous, he was incredibly honest and so intelligent he knew exactly what he was talking about. I highly recommend Midas in Southington it is now my new go to place!! read more

I've done oil changes, mounting/balancing of tires, and i'm about to go back for much needed pads and rotor replacement! There is ZERO pressure to do any work that you didn't go in there for. Claimed to have done an inspection on brakes, only took off driver side tires. Gave estimate of parts needed. Car was supposed to be done around noon time, stayed overnight. Called throughout day and got excuse after excuse why a 2 hour brake job taking so long. Requested every part taken off car to be placed in truck of car. Parts in truck were still good and "meat" on brake shoes were good for a good length of time had they not removed them. Brake drums get rusty unless painted, no rust or gouges inside drum either. Picked up car and invoice had additional parts listed that were not listed on original repair order. They didn't advise me of these additional parts and I never approved additional parts. No one ever called me about additional parts needed as required by law where I live. We got in car to leave and found parking brake wasn't working. Midas said they never touched the parking brake which is untrue. You need to disengage parking brake cable and remove parking brake lever in order to put new brake shoes on car. Driver's side front seat was slammed all the way back and won't move normally. Had someone help get the weather moved up to shirt leg position and it still will not slide backwards or forward without some reaching under seat to play with some cable underneath. Contacted Midas Consumer Complaint which was no help. Waited their 72 hour period for someone to follow up with me only to find out complaint got closed because someone at Midas said they talked to me. Case reopened and still no one contacted me so I gave up dealing with anyone from this business and put in a complaint elsewhere and looking into legal remedy. read more

So about a month ago I sent in my BMW to get a simple exhaust gasket replaced in between the exhaust pipes below the cab. They said that they could get the nuts free so they has to heat them up to see if it would loosen, they then just cut the bolts out retapped the holes, and replaced the gasket/bolts/nuts. The first one blew away in a matter of 2 days, then I went back and they did another "replacement," which then the tech said "the exhaust was bent causing the gasket to be destroyed," left it with them for some time to get it back and have the gasket screw up yet again. The next date I got to go back ended up not sticking due to them not having the part in stock, wasting more of my time had to schedule another time to get it done, mind you this is in the course of a month that I went through 3 gaskets that should've lasted longer, the original lasted all 16 years of the cars life. So then one of the managers I presume, wanted to look at it and fix it himself. He said the pipe was never bent, he then said he had put another gasket in with 2 longer bolts and 2 nuts on each bolt to make sure the gasket stayed where it need to be. I thought okay cool it's going to be good now. I haven't had any issues yet however had to replace o2 censors because of all of the time without having that gasket in there for having to drive my car because it was my only transportation. So the o2 sensors had to be replace, did so with my own time and money, while I was underneath I noticed, they didn't put a gasket instead they put some orange paste that isn't worth the $200.00 I paid for a GASKET replacement. I would not recommend for exhaust work as though they spent about $5 and 5 minutes of their time throwing this orange paste, something I could have done but I wanted it done the correct way. Mind you there still isn't a gasket just some orange heat paste or something. Very unprofessional especially lying to a customer, on top of which I've had to replace the o2 sensor because the computer was kicking up so many codes and my car wasn't running right. If you're having car troubles I'd prefer PN Auto Body & Repair which is on the other side of Queen St. Zibby the owner is very helpful and is always wiling to show off the work he has done to my car, however when I asked Midas they seemed a little hesitant. read more

This guy makes you think more than twice about giving Midas your business-- he's that incredibly unprofessional and prone to anger problems. Doesn't know even the basics of sales or business. Rob and his team are amazing! They picked my car up from work for service for an oil change. This saved so much time , no waiting. They called me and kept me up dated on the car. They also found a problem with one of my tires that saved me from probably having a blow out. I also needed just the front brakes done. The pricing was so reasonable. They checked my car out from top to bottom and made sure that I was safe. I went in for an oil change and was so thankful for the service that they gave me. They are my go to for anything car related needs. Today I needed a new battery for my key fob... so I messaged Rob and he got back to me. Dropped my Jeep off for A/C service and some performance issues. Ed was great! He gave me an honest assessment, kept my budget in mind by not throwing in a boat load of extra optional services that I really don't need, and all of the work turned out even better than expected.
