Went for an oil change was told 1 hours. I called multiple times and and each time they need more time, at 4 pm I called and it still was not read. I told then if it's not ready I will just pick up the car. They told me it was ready and they were about to call me. Tell me why they had the car in the lift when I arrived and told me they were working on it! It should not take all day or multiple calls. Didn't even off to use the coupon that was available. full disclosure, this experience was nearly a year ago but the location was just suggested to me by yelp so I'm writing this up now. They aren't great at sticking to appointments. I brought the car in for an oil change and to troubleshoot a lack of heat on the driver side. They advised they confirmed the heat was working despite not letting it run long enough to possibly get up to temp. I told them I would go run some errands and come back to show them what the issue was. Before I was able to get back I was called and asked to come back becasue the bay the car was in "had some fluid" in it. I asked what kind and they said they would figure it out. it was oil. The filter gasket was cracked and it leaked nearly all the new oil out in my 15 minutes of running around. When it was back in the bay they also left the plastic skid plate hanging by one screw under the filter and I could see the oil dripping off of it. #1. Troublehsoot the customer complaints #2. How are you going to not notice a cracked filter gasket, or did you just not care? #3. If you can't identify that a mystery fluid in the bay is engine oil you should lose your ASE certification. #4. After coming back the following day (and sitting in their lobby for hours, my airbag light was on (new) and I was told they don't touch airbags and I need to go to the dealer. They did fix that when I asked them how they replaced the heater core without taking the dash apart which would have required removing at least the cable for the passenger airbag indicator. That only took them 20 minutes to fix after I told them I would be having the dealer invoice them if I needed to go there. I have the lifetime alignment service so that is the only thing the vehicle will be back in for and only because I'm sure they won't refund it several years after purchase. read more

They deserve ZERO stars because they did nothing for me. I made an appointment for a simple oil change. I arrived early and waited over 2.5 hours. My car never left the space I parked it in. Why bother making an appointment if they're not even going to TRY to honor it? I took my key back and left with no oil change (no apology, either). All in all these people wasted four hours of my day. Congratulations, Firestone, you have permanently lost a longtime customer. read more

So I'm driving home on a major highway when I hear a metallic ping followed by a flapping noise. Turns out the skid plate broke loose and was basically dragging on the ground. Firestone was not my first choice but they were the only ones who had available service appointments for the following day. Brought in my car just before 8AM and received a diagnostic phone call about 90 minutes later. After I agreed to additional work, I received a second phone call a couple hours later informing me that my car was ready. The price, while a bit high, was exactly as quoted. It's always a bit shocking to see the labor charge, but it is what it is. My only minor complaint was the wait; no one at the desk at drop off or pickup, and it seems the only way to get anyone's attention is to either stare at them through the window or walk around to the service bay. read more

I had my vehicle for almost a year when I saw a screw in the driver side tire one morning at work. I already had a drill bit removed from the other front tire, not sure what is going on but I suppose it's not my bad luck with having objects in my tires that is the topic of discussion here. I stopped here after work to have the tire patched. I was told this should take about a half an hour and be about $20. This sounded great to me so I let them get started. Almost an hour later I was told that the patch was not holding so they were going to try again. You know those thoughts that go through your head, you're wondering if they're serious or if they just want to sell you a new tire when the tire really could be fixed. Anyway, I ended up being there for about 2 hours, right up until they were almost ready to close, but the second patch held and it was just about $20. The store is clean, there was plenty of seating for the few of us waiting, and the news was on to occupy our time (you know, when everyone doesn't have their heads looking down at their phones). I would go here again, and if you need anything that you know up front will take any length of time, you can head right through the parking lot to Bonefish and grab a quick bite or a drink, not an option you have at most places where you're stuck in the waiting room. After becoming verbally upset after showing up four hours after dropping off my truck to see it was just getting started, they proceeded to rush and intentionally damage all of my wheels. I say intentionally because if you are unaware that is happening, you must have no training or be completely oblivious to what you are doing. The techs here don't look to be the most skilled by any regards.1 After leaving my vehicle on the far end of the lot to make we walk the furthest distance to get to it, I'm also disabled with a valid handicap permit, that was IN THE TRUCK,I had the manager come out and assess the damage. As he realized they were in the wrong he offered to cover the cost of resurfacing the wheels. I asked for something in writing which he refused as he was hoping I would accept his offer and leave. I called the police to file a report to which I was informed I have to pursue it in small claims, civil court. After the officers arrival and creation of a case number. The manager had me trespassed from the property. I will be following up in small claims court to get the cost of my wheels, and downtime covered in the ordeal. See all my photos of the damage. I have more that we're not posted. If you care about your vehicle and want it done carefully and quickly, I would stay FAR away from here. Pretty embarrassing coming from a massive corporation/franchise. Why I got upset. I dropped the vehicle off and paid 1,372.31$ up front for this work at 12:20 per the receipt. I was informed it should take about two hours. After getting a ride and arriving at 3:45 to see it was no where near completely I became upset, even more so when the service advisor asked me if I was aware my 2022 ram, has "aftermarket suspension." He was referring to my helper air bags, as to why It was taking so long because they could not lift the truck without risk of damage, which is incorrect. That was clarified and confirmed by the store manager who said the service advisor had no idea what he was talking about, and that it was due to the length of the truck. (100% accurate, that's a common problem.) You should of informed me once you realized so I wouldn't show up, after double the time you told me (2 hours) As a service advisor, if you are unaware, don't speak, you'll potentially give incorrect information to a customer. Good thing I'm mechanically inclined and I called BS on the aftermarket suspension inaccuracy. This shop is very dirty and the equipment isn't up to standards as the store manager let me come in and see the tire machine. The employees don't look like they should be anywhere near an automotive shop either. God help anyone who is unaware of the condition of their vehicle entering this shop as it' will most likely get damaged. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. Went to simply get my brakes done on my vehicle and next thing you know my brakes were not working. Hard brake pedal. They claimed they bled the brakes which it turns out they did it wrong. Vehicle now stalling when it comes to a stop and turning off. My vehicle was much better before I brought it to these wannabe "mechanics." All they are good for are changing out tires. Other than that, DO NOT GO HERE. I was trying to get an inspection done for my vehicle so that I could try out driving for Uber. I was turned down my several places that said they couldn't do it or they wouldn't do it. I even went to the DMV and got attitude from them. I ended up going into this Firestone just to see if they could do it and without hesitation they did my vehicle inspection. Quick,easy, and only $19.99. Very professional and educated staff. I was listening to one of the customer service representatives explain to a customer about his vehicle issue and it was well explained to the customer. In general I like Firestone. I feel like you get really friendly, helpful service. I probably helps that I know a good deal about cars, so I generally feel really confident when discussing automotive issues, and can usually detect B.S. I have used the Southington Firestone location for years and find the employees there really genuine and helpful and honest, and now that I moved to the Hartford area was looking for a closer one. I called this location about a car issues I needed addressed, and they were able to get me in the next morning. They found a coupon for me to make sure I got a discount and a free oil change with the service (their price was lower than other shops and much lower than dealership prices for the work I needed done), and they called me throughout the day to give me updates. They did offer an upgrade option at one point, but when I declined (it was for a part I knew was relatively new already and really didn't need replacing) there was no pressure on their end. A friend and I made a trip down to Bridgeport last Wednesday. My 2010 Ford Escape started to sputter and shake and would not accelerate past 10 mph no matter how much pressure I applied to the gas pedal. Luckily after restarting the issue went away temporarily and we were able to make the drive back to Southington safely. I took my Escape to the Firestone on the Berlin Turnpike. I described the issue to the associate. After the diagnostic was performed he gave me an accurate description of what the issue was with the throttle body sensor. Then the proper maintenace was performed. The associate went out of his way to get the price down as far as he could since I have been a loyal customer. My escape noticeably runs smoother post repairs and I appreciate the quick turnaround with service. My only complaint although Im being nit picky is that I find the price of the diagnostic a bit steep but, the old saying remains true you get what you pay for. Incredibly disappointed with my service here. Had my front tires replaced a couple weeks ago, no problem there, and was told my back brakes would need replaced. So I bring it back to have them done, and hours later I get a call that, wouldn't you know it, now the front ones need replaced too. So they're so obviously bad they need replaced right away, but no one noticed when I had it in the first time when those tires were being replaced? This is either a scam or gross incompetence, and I'm not sure which is worse. If they had told me the first time, I could have budgeted, price compared, etc. Will be telling everyone to avoid and go somewhere else. read more

I have a 2005 Volvo S80 2.5T AWD which alot of "shops" are just simply uncomfortable working on. This Firestone location is simply the best service, the most honest and the most pleasant Service Center I have ever experienced. They know how to work on my car, the location is always clean and the staff are overwhelmingly professional. I had a Low Oil Pressure Sensor light/text warning come about, and on an S80 with the Turbo, that's a frightening thing to see. Parked the car, called this location the day before giving them a head's up that I would be AAA'ing on a flatbed the following morning. Did that today and the car arrived around 11:15AM. By about 1PM I had a full diagnostic, a full determination that it was a faulty sensor, and it was replaced. I also ordered up an alignment, tire rotation and tire balancing due to a shimmy at 50-60MPH. Everything was DONE and ready by 5PM on a Saturday! I was in here yesterday for an oil change - it was actually a pretty great experience! I booked it last min and they took me right in and had my oil changed and car ready in 20 mins time. The facility was clean and actually pleasant to sit in (didn't have the nauseating tire/rubber smell that many shops have) and the employees were super nice and efficient. I put off doing oil changes cuz the filthy freezing smelly shops annoy me and waiting two hours also, annoys me. But this place avoided both. They also didn't try to get me to fix a bunch of crap that didn't need to be fixed so that's another nice change from all the places on the pike The only thing I can say is for the better exp. you are def paying. I was actually kinda shocked when my bill for the oil change was over 40 bucks. I don't recall ever spending a dollar over 20-25 bucks at any other place I have ever been to change my oil. So be prepared for that. They didn't have the prices listed anywhere so it's my fault for not asking but everywhere else it's half the price. read more

Awesome shop, clean, friendly. I went here after having a horrible experience at Connecticut Tire, where they over torqued my lug bolts by +100 foot pounds. I have alloy rims, it is important to torque them to the exact tightness. I called first, and Ray explained their process: They take the tires/wheels off, then when putting back on the car they tighten each lug to 55 ft/lbs. Then they lower the car, and hand torque the lugs to the factory spec. Then a second technician double checks torque with a second torque wrench. They don't use torque sticks, which is awesome. I had him look up what their computer said for my 1996 Volvo 850, and it was dead on at 81ft/lbs. Highly recommend this shop, they won't ruin your lug studs/nuts. Thanks! read more

just got back from having these guys install tires i bought from tirerack.com. this place is super clean and bright.. and the guys at the desk were super nice.. they gave me the exact price for mounting and balancing tires that was on the tirerack website so i didn't have to question any extra charges... the waiting area had a view of the car bays so i could make sure they did what they were suppose to do with my wheels/tires.. my car was in and out within 20mins.. old tires given back to me in plastic bags.. i would def be back if i need anything else done.. read more
