Asked for a simple oil change and tire rotation. I would not recommend taking your vehicle there

Looking for a reasonable place for an oil change and tire rotation my dealer wanted over $100 crazy found Midas they did a great job quick full synthetic oil for just over $50 definitely recommend these guys read more

Collectively the most clueless group of individuals I have ever handed my keys too. Brought my own oil and filter yet still took 2 hours with an appointment. They also forgot to put air in my tires after asking them too. read more

They fixed my radiator last April. When I called to set up my appointment and told Blake the store manager my heat was not working he told me that my radiator was under warranty. So I made the appointment and dropped my vehicle off on 2/10/26. After a diagnosis , he told me it would cost me$1112.29 to fix my blower motor and resistor that would make my heat come on. And my radiator was leaking coolant and needed to be replaced.That was going to be $900, they were not going to honor the warranty because of the damage that was in front of my vehicle he believes is was caused the leak. I was never told this when they fixed it, the first time the vehicle was damaged then, but he said that repair could wait and that he could proceed\nWith fixing the blower motor and resister , and my heat should work with that repair.So I paid over the phone for that to be done. One hour before they closed the next day before it was time for me to pick my vehicle up his assistant manager calls me and tells me there's another problem that's going to cost me $2,000 more then what I was quoted for some other parts that are not irrelevant to what is wrong with my vehicle that they listed on my receipt.Abd tge assistant manager tells me something different that there is no warranty for a radiator anyway and he doesn't know why the manager told me this. So they're not even on the same accord with what they tell you. I went to O'Reilly auto parts and when they looked these parts up, one was for a trailer wire for pulling trailers and the other was a fuse box under my hood. I have a written letter from one of the employees who is willing to verify\nThat these parts are not needed in order to fix the heat in a 2015 jeep! So I paid them $$1,112 and I still have no heat in my vehicle. I feel they tried to take advantage of me as a woman and overcharge me for parts that I did not need to have my vehicle fixed. I am very disheartened that I even let them touch my truck last year because it has not acted right since they touched it. I had air conditioning before they put my radiator and water pump in , and after they fixed it I smelled fumes coming in my vehicle , and my air conditioning stopped working. So I will never use Midas again, they have lost a customer for life! read more

They have the most incompentent manager and mechanic in the world. Took my 2024 vehicle to have rear brake pads replaced they would not replace the pads because they thought they saw brake fluid leaking from the caliper I returned to see where it was leaking there were no leaks only brake dust on the caliper piston they insisted what they were seeing was not dust but brake fluid. I have 30 plus years in brake design they have no idea what they are talking about and lie to the customers. Do not bring any vehicle to this incompetent Midas. read more

My vehicle was leaking oil from an oil filter housing on my Chrysler Pacifica. The store manager worked with my 3rd party warranty provider and took care of all my needs. He even stayed late for me to pick up my care. I will definitely consider them again in the future if I need work on my cars. read more

I recently went here to get my sons car fixed because of the great customer service I received from John when I thought I needed new breaks on my car but he advised I didn't ( he is awesome)!! My disappointment came when I brought my sons car in. I paid for an engine diagnostic which was $189 ( very high although I did like The detail they provided in it ) but if I got the repair down there it would go into that cost. So I decided to just let them replace my son's radiator fans so that I wouldn't waste money. I was initially told this would be one price and I wrote that down tax included only to speak to the same person and once I advised I would leave off other services the price miraculously went up from what was initially stated! One of the other services they stated he needed was a coolant flush which they were going to charge me $189 for ( I declined) I did my research and called other Midas shops the price I was quoted for this was $115 a huge difference!!! My next issue they quoted new brakes for my son's care at over one thousand dollars ( a ford focus). I once again called other Midas shops in the area and other shops (advising them what this Midas stated and the price they quoted) and every single shop I called ( four in total) were shocked at this price and all quoted me between $430 to $445 to do this brake repair! My son's car is currently getting this work done at another shop as we speak! I would advise anyone not to go to this Midas unless you want to be up charged. I would hope I wasn't taken advantage of because I'm a woman but at this point I feel like this was the case. As a military veteran I am appalled at what occurred and I will never ever take any of my vehicles back to this particular Midas ever again!! I did appreciate the help John provided initially which lead me to come to this Midas in the first place!! However, since I never got to see him after he advised me initially I'm not sure he still works at this location but he was great as far as his integrity I can't say the same for anyone else I dealt with there. Please think twice before you go to this Midas and please especially if you are a woman do your research but avoid this place at all costs!! read more

I am from Windsor, Canada. My car broke and I towed it to Midas to fix the issue. They charged me $794 for 2 hours labor which is atheist $350 more than any other shop. I requested to reduce the price but no success. I had to go to Windsor on the same day that's why I did not have an option. Not recommend for the over price. read more

Liars. Went in for an oil change and caught them lying about the condition of my cars' brakes, tires, struts, air filter, and even wipers. Now I can only wonder if the oil they put in is the full synthetic they claim and if the oil filter is of the quality they claim. They're a disgrace. read more

Currently talking with Midas as admittedly there was some miscommunication on both ends. To make sure I'm not just bashing a business for no reason I'm going to be going over the paperwork and updating this review later. Great place to go the people there are very honest and make you feel like your a part of their family

My rear brakes were nearing the end of their life and finally bit the dust on a trip to my ancestors home of Michigan from my current home in NYC. I decided to give this Midas a try after several other places were booked up. My experience was mixed. Todd, the service manager at the time came across as really condescending. Not cool. The price I paid (nearly $600) was really high for replacement of rear brakes and rotors. I would pay this in NYC where prices are typically 20% higher than what I pay in Michigan. Overall, I'm satisfied with the quality of work, but definitely wouldn't go here again unless I was out of other options. read more

Recently moved to the area and hoped to find a shop that was as reliable, honest and trustworthy as the shop I moved too far from to still patronize. Was lured to this shop by a great deal coupon on the Midas website, with this shop being the one closest to my new house. My first clue should have been that there were no cars in the garage or the lot overnight leftover from the previous day. My second clue should have been having to sit in the parking lot waiting beyond opening time for someone to show up. The coupon included, among other things, a front-end alignment. I was told the alignment could not be completed because the ball joints and sway bar links on my truck required replacement. I was also told that my rear brakes needed replacement. Bottom line: $1100! The $1100 included new rear brake drums at $120 each. I asked if the drums' thickness was measured to determine that a replacement was required. The guy hesitated, and when prompted, acknowledged that he had "just assumed". Light bulb finally went on for me to get the heck out of there! I went to another Midas shop near my office. Night and day difference! Every stall full. Cars all over the place. At least 5 mechanics working. (Original place had 1, maybe 2?) Didn't mention previous diagnosis at other shop. Just said I had front-end noise, and please check the brakes. Bottom line: BALL JOINTS WERE FINE!!! Did need sway bars fixed. Rear brakes replaced -- but recommended new drums were only $80 each. I've been coming here for oil changes and every time my car seats end up smeared with oil. It obviously shows me that they don't care about keeping my car clean. The stains won't come out either! They tried to hike up the price to $200 when another place offered a deal for $125. I asked the manager to explain to me what was wrong with the car and he talked to me in a condescending tone. Not friendly, left my car seats dirty, tried to cheat me with the price, never coming back here again. read more

brian is always very knowledgeable & helpful, and he has a great memory. i don't know anything about cars, so i appreciate it each time he explains things in terms i can understand this is my go-to place for oil changes bc there's usually a coupon, it's close by, right here located within walking distance to places where i can go kill some time, they always check my whole car over and let me know if there are issues, and they're efficient. that's why i'm a repeat customer! read more

Midas - Lobby - Tires Near Me - Rochester, Michigan

Called over the phone for a quote to remove and replace a water pump. The attendant ask me why I thought that the WP needed replacing, I explained to him that it was over heating, making a specific and loud noise that I was able to isolate directly to the water pump via stethoscope, and it was leaking coolant from the pump. I then provided all the necessary information the attendant requested, Year, make, etc., and the verbal quote was $650 (roughly) I arrive at the shop, and he tells me it will be an additional $100 on top of the $650 ($750 plus Total) due to the $100 diagnostics test that they had to do. I explained to him that it was obvious, and I wanted to waive the diagnostic services, and simply have the water pump replaced, as originally quoted. He refused, rather than drive it to another shop, risking damaging the engine, I eventually agree to the unnecessary, BS diagnostic charge they wanted to charge. He prints the estimate via the computer, and asked me to sign, I did. He pulls the paper that I just signed back and says "we'll call ya".....I asked if I could please have a copy, he looked at me like I was speaking outer space language. I repeated me request, and he said NO, I CANT DO THAT????? Obviously I'm not comfortable with this, but what options do I have? The following day I received a call from the same attendant stating "the water pump part number I quoted you, and planned on using for your replacement is not available" he then tells me that He did find another water pump that is the same pump, but the cost of the pump was higher. I ask how much higher? He says the new cost to you, out the door is $1250 (roughly) I asked to speak to a manager, Todd gets on the line and feeds me the same BS story, and adds that the part number quoted was discontinued. This is a flat out lie, because I've already searched it myself, it's available all day, everyday! On my way to pick up the vehicle, and take it elsewhere. I stopped in today shortly before closing because something was hanging off my exhaust system. They dropped what they were doing and put my car on the lift. After diagnosing the problem, they showed me the problem and offered a few potential fixes - either remove the hanging metal piece or they could use metal straps to secure it. They also told me that my exhaust system would eventually need repair - but it was still good for the time being. They did not charge me for the diagnosis or the minor repair. I appreciated their honesty. I would trust these guys with my car and plan on returning when I need to replace my muffler. (By the way, I was impressed with their COVID protocol.) read more

Fantastic I wish I could give them 10 stars Dan is the man to see here at Midas. He helped me get my new quick struts when my warranty company was trying to screw me. He spent way more time than he had to and he got the job done. In addition he let me take his own personal car to get to a from work because my car was in all day. In the end he saved me $400 by getting part quotes from the ford dealer and telling the warranty company their low ball was a joke. They folded right there! Today I called because my truck was riding crappy again and making the same noises before. I called Midas at 12:45. Dan answered and said come in now. They took my truck in with no appointment, then Dan dropped me off at home. My truck had a new sway bar installed by 3. Free of charge!!! The only place I will ever go for auto issues. read more

I absolutely would recommend this place and I will be going back myself. I had a large skid bolt in my tire. Brian the Shop Manager was awesome and able to get me in right away.. Being a holiday weekend every other business was 3 hours or more. Some even said to bring it in on Tuesday. Very pleased with Brian's help and I will be a returning customer. read more

I wish I could give them a zero star. I took my car in last week with a damaged wheel. They told me that they could get a new wheel from the dealer within two days, and would be getting it back the afternoon the wheel would be in. Not only did it take an extra day to get the wheel, they would t have told me about it if I hadn't been hounding them about my car. So, after I got my car back, I realized my alignment always off; so I left my car with then for ANOTHER day for them to tell me it wasn't their fault the alignment was off and that they can't fix it. Okay. Mind you, they had me pay extra for the alignment, but never refunded me my money for this inconvenience. But then I had to go back four times the day I got it back because the TPM kept coming on to tell me my tire pressure was off. The last time I went in, the manager, Brian, told me it wasn't his fault, and if his guys said the job was done, why shouldn't he believe his guys? He was the one I told to go check the tire pressure with me, and mom and behold, my tires were over-pressurized. My tires were supposed were supposed to be at 32 PSI, but were at 36 PSI. Needless to say, these people are never at fault and there's nothing they can do about anything. They are unprofessional and careless. read more

My car had an indicator for an engine check, so I called Midas and they told me what it most likely was, and we scheduled an a for a diagnostic check. I was told it would take 30-90 minutes, but did not receive a call about the vehicle status until 5 hours later, after calling the store two times for an update. They said it would cost $630 to replace the oil pressure sensor, which would require a new part, an oil change, and 3 hours of labor. My dad contacted his dealership he does maintenance through, and they told him it would cost $395 for the same service. He called Midas and questioned why the price was $235 more, and they said they "messed up the estimate" and it would actually only cost $385, after being called out for overcharging a 25 year old woman, who they likely assumed didn't know any better. I will not be returning to this store and wouldn't recommend to anyone who is inexperienced with car repairs. read more

Today I went in for an inspection for another company and was told the wait was about an hour and a half. They got me in within a half hour. Come to find out I needed new brakes and rotors. They gave me a quote and I told them if they can get them there today that I'd do it. So they called a part shop and got the parts there and installed within an hour and a half. However, my tires were bad and they couldn't do that today and quoted me $250. No thanks. But overall it was good service! read more

I dropped by Midas to get my oil changed and tires rotated. They were able to get me in right away even though they seem more like a "make an appointment" place. I had an average experience overall. Nothing bad, but nothing that stands out either. I didn't get a reminder sticker here which is unfortunate for me. They also told me I had a broken spring and gave me a quote... Waiting on a quote from my normal repair place to see how it compares. read more

There is a reason this place is always empty when every other mechanic in town is booked full! Price gouging at its finest. My car was having alternator issues (I knew this from previous experience) and I brought it in to have the alternator looked at and replaced. It took them TWO HOURS to call me telling me it was the alternator (even though I dropped it off and told them that's what was wrong), and gave me the outlandish estimate of $570. I told "shop manager" Todd that that seemed awfully high. He told me "No, that's the going rate on the alrernators these days." After calling around to several other local shops, I got estimates (out the door) ranging from $307-$375, including at Belle Tire just down the road. When I called and relayed this info to Todd in hopes that he could price match or at least come down some so I wouldn't have to make another trip, he told me I could come pick up my car. He tried telling me the parts on the alternator was $330 even though I know the parts range from $125-$180 depending on vendor! The most ridiculous part is he still forced me to pay the $48 diagnostics fee even though I came in already knowing what the problem was. I will never be back! Too bad because I've had good luck at other Midas locations in the state. I guess things have changed. read more

I took my daughter's car in for an oil change. Midas literature said that a tire rotation would be included. I asked that the tires be rotated, and the manager assured me that it would even through it was not written up that way. When finished, I asked again if the tires had be rotated and was assured they were. Later that day, my daughter attempts to drive the car and the front is wobbling all over. She gets it home (less than a mile thank god) and it turns out the lug nuts on a front tire were barely hand tighten! I complain--my kid could have been killed, right?-- and the other manager tells me that they didn't perform the tire rotation. So, someone there is clearly lying. The better lie for them, is that they simply did not rotate the tires, so that is what they went with. So magically, the lug nuts loosened themselves!! I talk to corporate and they merely decide to refund the money for the oil change since they hold, they forgot to rotate the tires. A different manager goes one further a couple of days later--they were going to rotate the tires but noticed the tires did not need rotating!! Do not have anything ever to do with these lairs and incompetents!! read more

So my son is a college freshman at Oakland University and he told me he was hearing a grinding noise in the front. I told him to take his car to a local shop. He took it to this Midas shop. He called me and gave me the number. I called them (I believe I spoke to Todd). I was told the car needed one tie rod end, new pads, rotors and calipers. I was told the Caliphers were frozen, the rotors were pitted and the cost of repair and an alignment would be almost $1,400. I declined and decided to drive 10 hours one way to see for myself. I found a place called Gearheads rent a stahl (they were great) So, when I removed the wheels I found that this shop, in my opinion lied to me. The caliphers were fine, the rotors were like brand new with one side of one rotor that was only a little rough because the pad on that side had worn to the medal. The one tie rod end did have a cut in the boot so that did need to be replaced. The parts cost less than $150. I replaced both tie rod ends. Car is now fine. My advise is to go somewhere else and or get a second opinion. I complained to Midas Corporate headquarters and I got a call from the regional manager who told me he called the shop and was told the rotors were pitted. I told him I kept the rotors and would be more than happy to send him a picture of them but he declined. He said he would talk to the shop. I am writing this review because I am concerned for others who might find themselves in a similar position. Funny because even the person that ran Gearhead looked at the parts, their condition and agreed that there was nothing wrong with the Caliphers and that the rotors could have easily been cut. Further, I stand behind my opinion. By the way my time in my profession cost me more than the money I saved, but this is about the principle, the public should not be gouged and the estimates given should be for only what really needs to be done. Have taken my car there annually for 4 years to have new brakes caliber and rotors put on. There is no explanation on why I have a continuous problem. There is always a charge and the brakes last less then one year. Have taken my car to another brake shoe. Terrible reliability read more

Im not sure who all of you worked with but I found the customer service excellent, maybe because of new shop mgmt. I came in for an oil change and tire rotation, shop manager brought me out to my vehicle let me see that my brakes and tires and exhaust were in good shape and showed me that I had a broken sway bar link and my air filter was dirty. He brought me back inside got a written estimate within 5 min and I got them fixed. He didn't even pressure me just talked through the estimate with me and gave me a couple options. He didn't have to sell me anything, the service sold itself. Thanks Midas you are my go to guys now. read more

WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN. My car was stalling and had acceleration issues. They had no idea what was really wrong with it and kept guessing and racking up my bill. After taking it back twice for the same issues, they said they would fix it for free on them. Left it with them for a week! They said they were leisurely working on it in between other orders. They never called with any updates, time tables, or what was actually wrong with it. I had to keep calling and they kept saying, "maybe tomorrow." I finally gave them a deadline or i would need to have a rental. I showed up today and the car won't even start now. They took it on a 30 mile joy ride to make sure it was running correctly and they ended up breaking something else. So after three weeks, the original issues have not been fixed and they broke something else on it. They refunded my money and basically washed their hands of me. They won't pay for the tow i need, or fix what they have now broke. The engine won't even turn over. AWFUL SERVICE HERE along with AWFUL CUSTOMER RELATIONS. I will be getting a lawyer. read more
