I contacted Jeff the owner about a question related to a possible employee issue and unfortunately my efforts were not responded to so I have downgraded my original 5 star reviews to reflect the lack of a basic polite follow up response to my inquiry and efforts. I can no longer recommend this Midas Franchise.We have taken our business to Mike at Quality mufflers of Wasilla with great results! There is no reason for an owner to not politely respond to an inquiry regarding a public and well documented statement that "MIDAS DESTROYED MY TRUCK" and then said person was compensated with a hoodie? That doesn't add up and deserves clarification and follow up in my humble opinion. My reach out was disrespectfully ignored to date! So very disappointing and no longer recommending this MIDAS Franchise going forward, I've tried... I advise go elsewhere!!! read more

HORRIBLE! I had a leaking tire. They told me it would be almost $800 for two new tires. I brought it to the local tire shop and the had me fixed in 10 minutes for $25. This shop is everything that is wrong with mechanics. They suck! read more

I am a veteran that went in to the Palmer Alaska location to get an estimate for a rear brake job on my Toyota Tundra with parts already provided. Your service staff quoted me almost $500 to do the replacement. The total time for parts replacement was quoted around 1 hr 20min. So your are charging $250 an hour approximately? Seriously? why is Midas pinching the community in this manner. I have used the services at this store before and now feel like I am being over charged for simple services. I will have to stop using Midas to service my vehicles. What a disappointment. I always thought that my local Midas shop would beat out any of the competition is why I kept bring my vehicles there. And now you are becoming over priced like the competitors. Will have to travel further for a better service rate. read more

We had a 2 month old truck that we drove from Texas to Alaska. We went to Midas for an oil change and they found a leak in the transmission and A/C. They took pictures and told us we needed to get our truck to a Ford Dealership for them to fix it. We are so grateful that they did! Thank you Midas for your honesty. read more

My daughter's car was showing some uneven tire wear in the front so based on reviews, I decided to take it to the Palmer Midas location. Staff were friendly and responsive. They inspected the car and determined that the front and rear suspension needed attention. The price out the door was just under the estimate and the work was completed fairly quickly. Upon pickup I noticed that a couple small access holes were cut in the plastic fender wells to ease rear shock installation. This was a bit atypical from my perspective so I followed up with the manager. He was very responsive and apologized for not getting advance approval from me for the access holes. He even offered to install rubber plugs so that they weren't as noticeable (which I planned to do anyway). He also offered to refund some of the cost because of the mishap, which I accepted. The manager was genuinely interested in making me happy and clearly took pride in how his garage operated. I think my experience was more related to them being swamped then a reflection of how they operate. I would definitely recommend this garage for future work. Few businesses would go to the lengths that they did to make a customer happy and that tells me that they care about the work that they do. The installation and resulting improvements to the car were great. read more

My daughter took her car in to get an oil change and it started leaking really bad so she took it back and there was oil all over the engine and now the seals are all leaking. We can't prove that they over filled it but just a heads up don't get your oil changed there unless you want to replace your engine. read more

We popped the bead on our rzr tire and could not get it to seat back on. I brought the tire in late on a Saturday afternoon and these guys were busy as heck, but they helped me right away and didn't even charge me for it. I must say that the service and friendly attitude at the Palmer Midas is "top-notch". These guys never fail to I impress me with their willingness to go above and beyond for me whenever I stop in to their shop. I always feel like I they give me the best possible service at the lowest price possible. The demeanor and attitude is also worth mentioning. Trey, Garrion, Dave , and Josh have all been the main reason I am a loyal customer of Midas. They are definitely model employees and are invaluable to the Midas shop in Palmer, AK. So I took my truck in to get my brake pads and break shoes replaced I had already purchased the pads and the break shoes before hand midas told me it would cast 520$ to put them on my truck and possibly need to hold it over night read more

I have multiple vehicles and they exclusively go to Midas in palmer, for everything from purchasing tires to near total rebuilding of major parts, i/e engine/transmission. As I am really annoyingly picky i am surprised they still greet me, and everyone else, with a smile. Excellent personal service, quality, conscientious mechanics and always fast and thorough on maintenance. 10/10 read more

Got me in just before closing to get an oil change. Gave me a referral on tires and said mine were getting dull (which they are.) What I liked most is that they didn't try and force other services down my throat like Jiffy Lube. I won't go anywhere else now. read more

Recently had to use Midas for a cleaning if the underneath of my truck and assess if there was any damage. Yes, I was one of the trucks in a ditch scenario ;) anyway they cleaned it all up and told my husband that there was no damage and nothing leaking. I actually felt like they undercharged us!!! I have been going to this Midas for the past 4 or 5 years now, and I can honestly say this is one of the best experiences I've had with a vehicle repair/maintenance shop. Ever since I've had my first interaction with Garrion, I felt like I was being treated honestly and fairly. He always takes the time to explain the best fix or plan of action for the things I list that need to be done to my vehicles. He's never tried to sell me something I did not need, and he never talks to me like I'm some idiot that knows nothing about cars. It could be months or even a year between maintenance checks, and he remembers me and the types of vehicles my husband and I have without even asking or looking in the system. I can always count on him to take care of our car maintenance needs without worrying about being scammed or deceived in any way.
