The owner pays himself 335k a year and spends his days shopping and making up errands. He personally damaged customers wheels and dropped another customers brand new truck off a lift. Didn't admit it to either customer. Tried to blame the damage of the wheels on the tire man who was off. Tried to blame the dropped vehicle on his 17 year old son. Sent them back to Louisiana or Mississippi where their mechanics found the damage. And he lied to every present. Turns out being former usmc doesn't require integrity or honesty. We had a catastrophic transmission failure in our Subaru Forrester, something that is unfortunately common with that model. The cost if replacing the transmission was very nearly the entire worth of the car. Jenski worked with us to put in a transmission that we were able to source ourselves super quickly and with professional and great customer service. Not many shops are willing to put in customer sourced parts and by allowing us to do so Jenski saved us over 4,000$. Highly recommend. Super down to earth and easy going family shop that is willing to go above and beyond for the customer. These guys are great. read more

I would like to make a followup of my 1 star review: Even though a mechanics mistake was made in my oil change and clean-up mitigation was performed by Jenski, I was not comfortable with final out come. So, to settle my mind I took my vehicle to the dealership in Anchorage to have them do an inspection. They did a final cleanup of the engine compartment and the inspection. During the wait time for this service the owner of Jenski (Randy) called me to see if I was able to make my appointment with the dealer. He also told me to have the dealership call him at completion of service and he would pay for bill. This he did with apologies for my inconvenience. It was a very good ending to a disappointing experience and his concern for my car and the shop experience completely changed my opinion of Jenski and is the reason I changed my review. Horrendous experience with extremely condescending front desk girl, was told to go to a dealership for an oil leak they supposedly found but couldn't speak about nor relocate. I asked to have the shop manager make a follow up call, no one ever called. About 300 miles after the alleged oil change my oil is black and filthy. The overpriced oil change where a supposed leak was located was clearly never performed. NEVER doing business with these crooks again. read more

Save your self money and the headache and go elsewhere! We took my 17 year olds vehicle in for a tire swap. No oil change was due. (over 4000 miles before it was needed) they did it anyway and charged for a service not requested. then wanted to argue over it. read more

Subaru (oil leak)- I was hoping it wasnt the head gasket. Was told a diagnosis was required to proceed- asked the cost- told it didn't really matter because it is usually taken off the repar cost. Dropped off car the next day. They contacted me and reported that the car was leaking from every gasket and seal on the engine. The "quote" was new engine- at a cost of $7000 of something like that. Asked what R&R (remove and replace) would be if I gave them a engine. Was told that they would not install customer supplied parts- picked it up and paid the $75 "diagnosis" fee. Next I pressure washed the engine to remove as much oil as I could & took the car to another mechanic who primarily works on Subaru. The result- Crain main seal replaced- $141 for the repair- (gave him $200). I can not recommend Jenski. read more

The good: nice staff, they were able to fit me in when my normal mechanic couldn't, and they have a convenient drop box for keys so you can leave it before they open The bad: recommend unnecessary & costly "tune-ups" vs simply fixing an issue, ended up having to take to normal mechanic anyways after their "fix" didn't work, family member who is a mechanic in another state said DO NOT GO BACK THERE! read more

I dropped my car off on a Sunday via their nice little key drop box and heard from them by noon on Monday. There was a multitude of problems with my Subaru Legacy that I already knew about but they were able to get it drivable and mostly fixed for under $150 by Tuesday afternoon. They did a full inspection and even test drove it to ensure their work was done correctly. I already knew that my vehicle needed several thousand dollars worth of work to do but they broke it down in lamens terms and walked me through everything that was needed and what I could get away with. There was absolutely no pressure to use them or their service, they were very upfront, informative, friendly, and extremely professional. The most honest car guys I've ever dealt with! Yesterday, (Thursday 3/14/2019), I had an appointment for a 45k mile tuneup maintenance at Jenski's. First, my appointment lasted from 8am - 1pm. No one, who has an appointment, should wait that long for a routine maintenance! Second, I wanted to do maintenance "by the book." It's my vehicle, which I bought new. It's my choice. Yet, my choice in maintenance seemed like an inconvenience for the Jenski mechanic, who questioned doing "unnecessary" replacements. Eventually, he agreed but not without needless questions. Third, when I scheduled the appointment a few days prior, I told the desk worker that my vehicle requires special filters, and that, he needed to pre-order said filter(s). He treated me like I didn't know what I was talking about and assured me there are plenty of parts stores nearby, if indeed the filter is special. GUESS WHAT, Jenski's did NOT have the filter I told them they would need to pre-order. It was no where in the Valley but in Anchorage. The desk worker tried to blame this in the computer's inventory. Fourth, it seemed like the Jenski front desk & mechanic did not want to go over the list of services at check out. It felt like they just wanted me to pay and go. I insisted they talk over the work, given their earlier mess ups and poor service. GUESS WHAT! The VERY FIRST item on the maintenance list I provided them (the owner's manual) was to rotate the tires. It was NOT done! Also, they initially did not list out their 45k mile service checklist or status of milestone maintenance items, like remaining brake life and tire life on my receipt. Again, I had to insist they make notes of what had been done and status markers, so that I could verify. Fifth, WITHOUT asking me, the Jenski mechanic decided to put Sea Foam carburetor cleaner into my carburetor. Not only was this NOT called for by me or by the owner's manual, but it would never be my preference. I would have said no, since it is not technically a fuel additive as the owner's manual requires, and since I TOLD the front desk worker that I run 90 grade fuel (with Techron)... but I was stuck with the charge after the fact. At checkout, I was left with a $700+ BILL!!! That was after the removal of a charge for the rotation of tires. When I spoke with the owner, he apologized for all the poor service I'd received but said the bill was "very accurate." He did not budge to make the Jenski reputation right. I told Mr. Jenski that I would pay his $700+ bill to keep up my end, but that, I WILL NOT RETURN! read more

Honest mechanics are hard to come by in the valley and these guys are honestly the best! They have worked on several of my cars for me and i've always been impressed with the fast and thorough service. They'll do a full check up for you if you want so you can find out what all your car needs currently, and it doesn't take them long at all. There's very little they can't do at their shop and they will recommend somewhere else for you to go for those things (alignments are one of the few) Awesome!! read more

I am very impressed with the honesty and the way both the gentlemen here treated me and my family. They looked at my Kia Rio and, instead of pulling my leg and saying they could do what they couldn't, they informed us what they thought the problem was and recommended we take the vehicle to a dealer. They let us keep our car on the lot until we could get it towed and even handled the key transfer to the tow driver without even the slightest hint of a gripe. The car was taken to the dealer and the dealer said the problems were EXACTLY as the mechanics said and they even quoted us a price that was well within the price Jenski said it would be. I am, statistically, in the bottom 1% of earners in the U.S.A. and every penny counts to keep my family going. These guys did not rip me off and take advantage of me. They talked to me like a man and told me very honestly how to fix the vehicle. If you want a mechanic you can trust to do the right thing, Jenski is the place to go. I now need an alignment and, when I can afford it, I will choose no other place. They have earned my business from now on. read more

We are so happy we found Jenski Automotive and have been loyal customers for quite a few years now. They are honest, extremely helpful, and they do exceptional work. We will drive or tow our vehicles three hundred miles to have Jenski's mechanics work on them. They have worked on several of our vehicles and have done everything from oil changes, shocks/struts, transmission services, to an entire engine swap for us. Wish I could write an actual review based on service I received here but I have never managed to get past an initial phone call with this place. I first called to see about getting an oil change a few years back. The person who answered the phone was rude and said they were way too busy to do oil changes. I thought I would try my luck again here again today and called to get an estimate for labor and parts on a fairly routine procedure (I had already called two other places and received estimates over the phone) The person who answered the phone at Jenski's said they would need to inspect the car before giving an estimate which is fine but AGAIN with the rude tone. It's almost as if they are trying to push business away by deliberately making you feel stupid for calling. Here's a hint to this business, you may want to try being friendly and welcoming to customers over the phone and in person no matter how stupid you feel their questions are. I would not recommend even trying to call this place, there are too many others out there who are glad to have your business. read more
