My car needed brake pads and rotors; after calling four places for price (yesterday) - Bernardi Toyota in Natick, Hogan Tire in Natick and Midas in Marlboro, I chose Midas in Natick. They were by far the best price by almost $200.00. Hogan Tire in Natick was the most expensive by over $275.00 compared to Midas in Natick. Of course quality work was a consideration and I was not disappointed. Tim who performed the work walked me through everything as he did it and explained the reasons behind it. Melvin at the front desk is also wonderful. Midas in Natick is a great place to go for excellent customer service, quality work and very reasonable prices comparatively speaking. I got a very rude email a couple of days ago saying that I should've asked them to do the rotation even though it's part of their job... at least that's what you guys advertise... it should be the other way around, not customers asking you guys to do what we're paying for, but us asking you to not do the rotation... if it's part of the package we're paying for, we expect it to be done without asking for it... and don't tell me you guys measure to see if the rotation needs to be done because I don't buy it... if I were there just to do the rotation and pay just for it, nobody would measure my tires, we know that. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. They absolutely took advantage of me being a young woman. I called ahead and asked for them to check my tire, as it had a screw in it. I mentioned that because I have all wheel drive, if I needed a new tire- I couldn't afford all 4, and they responded "No problem, we'll try to plug it." I bought it in and within 8 minutes my car was done and my tire was "plugged." The next morning (less than 12 hours later) I woke up to a flat tire. Upon looking closer, I could literally lift up the so called "plug" from my tire. No wonder it was flat!!! I called them and asked what the deal was hey the VERY RUDE salesman said "We told you it might not work. Looks like it didn't." I asked if they knew that it may not work, why not just replace it in general? The guy said "It's expensive to buy a new tire." I NEVER ONCE said I didn't want to replace the tire. I don't know why they assumed they'd just plug it when they whole heartedly knew it wouldn't work. Because I am a young girl, they tried to scam me out of a measly 30 bucks. TLDR: Midas called. They said nothing was their fault. This Midas location called to address my concerns. They said that they had recommended the coolant & transmission flush based on the mileage alone, they hadn't actually checked the fluids [the person I spoke to specifically said that my fluid looked dreadful, and really really needed doing, even after I had explained to him that the dealer had done it at the 60,000 mile checkup]. Even if they did recommend that service based on the miles and not actually looking at the fluids, that doesn't seem right. About the ruined oil drain plug, he said that Midas "doesn't double gasket" and I had probably had it double-gasketed somewhere else. I haven't had an oil change anywhere but Midas in years. So even if they hadn't damaged the gasket themselves, it's odd they never mentioned the poor shape it was in. And it wasn't just double-gasketed. It was multiple-gasketed! It was in such poor shape the mechanic thought I probably would need a new oil pan. And Midas claims they never noticed it? They offered me a free oil change for my trouble, but I declined. read more

I think they had a change of management. Came here for almost a year with great service, the last two times, however, have been horrible. First I was told I needed change the timing belt in my car when my car has a timing chain not belt. In the past 2 years I've been to 6 separate garages trying to find out why my Jeep steering wheel and front end shakes like crazy when I put the brakes on when going over 40 mph. All the other Mechanic ever did was look at the front end and brakes. This mechanic DROVE the Jeep, what a concept :) Finally a mechanic who actually knows the answer. The rotors were warped/ not round any longer. Apparently 2.5 years ago when I had the rotors replaced the garage I used in Millis put in cheap rotors and this is the result. Been there twice now and wanted to share that they provided me with the best customer service I've ever had with an auto shop. Mike and the repair team are honest, and experienced. Got my tires replaced, cabin air filter replaced, and they did a full maintenance check on the car. While I was waiting, the day before the July 4th, they provided the customers with a free bbq lunch! I got to know the mechanics and learned they are really kind, honest, hardworking family people. Torn between giving 2 or 3 stars...I guess "Meh. I've experienced better" is a more accurate representation of my experience than "A-OK", so I'm going with 2. I went here for a brake job. They seem to have done a good job with the brakes themselves (hence my desire to give a 3 star rating). However, I was upset by two issues: 1. I arrived earlier than other customers, one customer in particular made a fuss about having had an appointment, which they hadn't remembered to record (I had one as well), so they essentially let him skip me in turn. As a result, my car sat in the parking lot an extra half hour because all the service bays were full. It seems to me that it should be first come, first serve rather than better service for people who complain. 2. When I was initially given the estimate (more than $400 for rear brake pads, rotors and labor), I asked if they had any coupons I could use for the brake job. The front desk person said they didn't. After I paid, I heard another customer turn in a $30 coupon that applied to service over $300. I of course asked if I could have this applied to my bill as well, and they said no, because I'd already paid. I think that they should have told me that a coupon existed, and also that they could have offered some sort of recompense--maybe a free oil change--since they didn't give me the discount. I hate writing bad reviews of anyone in the service industry because it's hard and thankless work much of the time but we had a very poor experience that consumers should be aware of. - car needs 4 new break pads and rotors - quoted here for well over $900 - made 1 call elsewhere and received a quote for $700 - when Midas realized they were going to lose the business they agreed to match the rate. They had the car so they had the leverage. - we declined, not wanting to support that sort of business practice, and indicated we were going to come pick up the car and take it elsewhere Here's why I'm writing the review: They call us back while we're in the lot staring at the car sitting in the parking spot, and in a last ditch effort to save the sale, the salesman says, "you can't drive this car, it's unsafe. We have it up in the air right now with all four tires off. I'll show you if you need proof." I don't mind or take offense to service providers charging different rates for the same product or service. I recognize there is value in skill and labor, I also can appreciate that many need certain margins to make the work worthwhile. You have the right to charge whatever you want, just don't blatantly lie to a customer in an effort to either scare or force them in giving you the business. read more

Went for a simple oil change and tire rotation and was told I needed over $800 in repairs. They recommended repairs include new rear brakes and new battery. After declining the repairs I validate the battery was good with the Subaru dealership and a local auto parts store. I also confirmed the brakes had 5mm left on the rear pads. They said less than 3mm. This is a clear bait and up sell strategy that should be illegal. Please be aware this up selling and alternate selling is a common practice at this Midas shop. Did a great job!!! Just had my front brakes and rotors replaced, I waited so long to get them fixed that I froze up my calipers. I know cars (worked at a dealership for a few years back in the day), these guys told me exactly what I thought/ knew what was wrong. They didn't try to " screw" like other reviews say. I've been bringing my 2 Subaru's and Trail Blazer there for several years and have always received great service. Never cut corners, and workmanship has always been good. People need to remember getting your car repaired is like going to the doctors, you're most likely going to have to wait longer than expected, and just be glad they fit you in instead of telling you the next available appointment isn't until next month. Nothing but bad experiences at this place. I've given Natick Midas several chances but they managed to screw me over every time. The prices are outrageous compared to nearby competitors. $80 to investigate check engine light? Check nearby garages they will do it for free, takes one minute. The service isn't any good either. They can't even replace a rim properly, had to go somewhere else to get it done right. There is no hard sell or pressure like other reviews said but many surprise charges when you pick up your car. Be ready to pay more than what they quote you at the beginning. read more

A great place for regular car maintenance. I've taken my car ('02 Explorer) to the dealership, Jiffy Lube, and a local place, and this is by far the best. There's no hard sell - if you go in for an oil change, they won't try to convince you that you need new tires,windshield wipers, & transmission fluid. On occasion, they'll make recommendations that are completely reasonable according to my father and the mechanic who does my inspections. I always get in and out fairly quickly (and usually go on the weekend) They give you coupons for your next visit, so the price is great (less than $20 for an oil change). read more

I went in for tire repair and they charge me $32 for it. After a week, I noticed tire was still leaking. When I came back I realized they repaired wrong tire, and did not even attempt to remedy the situation! Later they claimed that my tire need a new sensor, but the quote for replacement was way too high. Was able to perform sensor replacement in another place for $100 less. Also I think their receptionist could be a bit friendlier. read more

This branch plays tricks on customer and threatens to not give the keys of car if you don't comply with their demands. Yesterday I dropped of the car to check the problem. I was not told about any charges for the checkup and I did not sign any paper. Today, a different person (Tim, the manager) gave me a huge estimate ~1300 and asked me to make a call right away. Or he will bring my car down and I need to pay money to get my car released. This is calculated scam where they don't advise about charges upfront to snatch your business. I paid the ransom and took my car to another shop. Turns out they were inflating the repair work too and i am getting it all done for ~$700. Waiting to her back form Midas on Facebook...my next stop - filing formal complaint with Massachusetts Consumer Affairs. Went there this past week after the dealership recommended I change my rear brake pads but that didn't need to change my rotors. After hearing their price I decided to shop around and found that midas was having a coupon for brakes. They were very honest with me. They recommended I change my rotors now anyway because it would probably only last me another 5,000 miles then I would have to do everything again. They even came out and showed me how bad my rotors were. So I got them done and I have lifetime warranty on the brake pads. They could tell I was a student and the price was high for me so they threw in a oil change and tire rotation whereas my dealership would charge me $50 plus over $200 more expensive (I shopped around other mechanics were around the dealership range).
