I've had a really great experience here, whether it be filling up gas or getting help with my car. I blew my tire yesterday, called AAA, and these guys really came through. I was quoted an hour wait time, but Diego came within 20 minutes of me calling. He was quick, efficient, professional, and even checked the air on all of my other tires to make sure that there wasn't a slow leak in the rest of them. I used to live around the corner from this place, but now go out of my way to get gas here. It's full service and their staff acutally wash your windows while you're gassing up! It's got a flavor of old school gas stations where a swarm of men would surround like you see in old school movies. Very friendly staff. There can be a line though as they can have very competitive prices. Another plus! Oh and free air! Sweet! There is a service station as well that does oil changes and other auto repair. They have a AAA tow truck service out of the location as well. A couple years ago my car died at an intersection near the shop and one of their tow truck drivers stopped and got me and the car out of the middle of the road and to the service station. I love these guys! I always get my gas here, it's full service, and you're still paying the same if not less than the current price. They always squeegee your windows while you're filling up. Plus, they have FREE AIR! You should never have to pay for air. I had also gotten something in my brand new car's tire, and these guys helped plug it. And for only $25! It was quick and easy. I also have their phone number in my cellphone, just in case I ever need a tow. After a horrible clusterfuck of a week, I walked out of the supermarket to find a flat tire. I didn't have a jack, so I called triple-A. They sent these guys. Did I mention the horrible week? Well, I was so at the end of my rope that I was in tears by the time the repair truck showed up. I'm not usually the blubbering type, but I was really worn down and upset. Hence the tears. The repair guy made fun of me for crying. Not in a "I'm trying to cheer you up" kind of way. No. In a "I think you suck and I'm going to mock you" kind of way. We're talking a steady stream of mean-spirited mockery. At one point, when I apologized for blocking his view of my license plate, he told me to "stop whining." Seriously. The kicker was when he capped off the whole delightful experience by doing a humiliating imitation of me crying as he finished the paperwork ("Wah-wah-wah"). Then he laughed at me some more and split. I would put red-hot needles in my eyes before I would ever, ever use this company again. These guys truly saved me when my car dropped its muffler on Rte 95N, and I was 10 miles into a 250-mile trip, in the breakdown lane of horrible Rte 128. They were kind, courteous, and assured me they wouldn't "dump me" at a service station until we knew the station could fit me in that day. That proved to be a problem with the current pandemic-related labor shortage! At my request, Nelson called a former employee of the tow company who now owns an auto mechanic shop, and they fixed my car and had me on my way in just a bit over an hour (for a bargain price, too!). I had never tipped a tow service before, but Nelson was my hero that day, and I gave him and his helper all the cash I had on hand. They are affiliated with AAA, which I think has become hard to deal with (not answering the phone and requiring you to put in your information online, even though you might be some place without cell service). It's rare that I rave about a gas station. I mean, I have no attachment, no loyalty, it's just a place to fill up my car on the way to someplace more exciting. We stumbled upon Pro Tec (I think they leave off the last 'H' for aesthetic reasons) and were greeted by the most efficient, fully-staffed gas station ever. My front and back windshields were cleaned, the staff was directing people to available pumps, and the entire thing was running like a well oiled machine. I've encountered the Pro-Tech tow guys twice now through AAA. The first time was about a month ago and the mechanic that came out in the truck gave my car a jump start. He was polite and nice. Today, I had to call AAA again and this time it wasn't just the battery. Eddy came out to my rescue and actually got the car started! He knew the secret trick to getting old Corollas going, and now I know it, too! Eddy was incredibly nice and good-spirited, despite the rain! I told him I'd call him next time I needed help and he gave me his card with the direct number so I don't have to go through AAA next time. read more

I have never had a bad experience here, and the guy who runs the shop is always good to me. I never feel like he's screwing me price wise. I bring my car in for all my oil changes, and last year, I had to replace tires/brakes, etc, and I paid a decent price for all the work done. This is the worst experience I have ever had with any company, hands down. I had a tire blow out and called AAA for a tow. They dispatched these guys. After an hour they called and said they were on the way, after asking my location. I waited almost an hour more and then called back to get an ETA. The guy answering the phones asked me to hold and then hung up on me. I assumed it was an accident and dialed back. He then screamed at me, saying I had called 1600 times (it was only my second call, the first being the one where he hung up on me) and then he yelled at me that they couldn't do it where I was located (which was factually inaccurate- had he listened to me instead of yelling he would have been able to figure it out) I reported him to AAA customer relations and will be following up. AAA should terminate their partnership with these jerks. read more

At noon I handed them my new alternator and a serpentine belt asking them to slap it on my 2003 corolla. I had to call them at 5pm because they never called me saying it's done even though somebody made sure to jot down my cell phone number, and they said it was installed. I walked over and somebody sheepishly carried over the slip to the convenience store portion of the shop for me to pay, and they charged me for 2 hours, $150! In what universe does an alternator install take 2 hours?! I was attempting the install myself and the Russian guy who explains how to do it on youtube only took 12 MINUTES. Ridiculous. They are clearly out to make profit on unsuspecting car owners, please avoid this place's auto service & repair there are plenty of great shops in Waltham this is not one of them. read more

My favorite gas station. There are always a ton of employees, so you never have to wait for someone to pump your gas. They squeegee your windows while you wait, which is wonderful! Their prices are low and their employees are friendly. They also have a convenient store which is always very valuable! Definitely worth the five stars. read more

so heres the deal..I drive a 1991 volvo 240 wagon with close to 200,000 miles on it. Its a daily driver in boston and it shows. Its been hit and run a number of times and I practically have to bribe inspection stations to pass this thing. Over the winter it started giving me trouble starting up and one day it just stalled out and didnt want to start up. I had it towed to a place in Newton that kept it for two weeks. They were shady with details about their diagnosis and told me I needed parts I had just replaced and then eventually gave the car back because it just started up one day. They gave up on it and never actually fixed the problem.....So here my girlfriend is, a week ago driving my car that was never actually fixed and it stalls again and this time there is no hope of it starting up again. she calls AAA and the protech guys show up. They are super nice to her and they tow the car to the shop where the guys say they'll take a look at it and that he knows the deal with these old cars..keep em running as long as its worth it to, so he'll keep price in mind as he looks. Next day we get a call. The service manager's name is Paul. Hes got bad news, the problem is definitely electrical, a number of things are at work and it might not be worth it...I thought my volvo had finally seen its last day, that another shop would give up on it and it would end up costing me more than the car is worth to get someone to put the time into to figuring out whats wrong with it. BUT he says if you dont mind leaving it for a week we can poke around at it whenever we get time and more head will better than one. and not worry THEY WONT BE CHARGING ME for the all the hours of diagnostics!...Two days later I talk to MIKE the service technician looking at my car. He has taken it on as his project and is determined to breather life into my old car. Hes pretty much found the issues but its still stalling. Two days later, Paul says they figured it out!!! There were four different parts all contributing to the my cars misfiring. So Im happy but Im thinking Im in over 500$ and my car is only worth 1000. He tells me it took about 16 hours of diagnostics....I get the bill and they charged me for the parts and 1.5 hrs of labor!!!! What? It cost me 270$ out the door. These guys are seriously the best. Paul and Mike both took me out to the car and showed me all the work they did, explained exactly what was going on and were happy to inform me that I would probably get another 100,000 miles out of it. These guys are honest, friendly, and legit. The protech shop itself is quite large. They have an awesome full service gas station with like 5 dudes working and washing windshields while they are filling tanks. The have a 24 hr tow dispatch office and all the mechanics seem like seasoned veterans of the automotive field. Mike was proud he got the car to work...he said everyone was bustin his chops about it asking when they were gonna junk it and told me "its just a car, I knew I could get it to run." These guys are awesome. In a city with so many automotive and towing places its hard to tell which one is going to screw you and which will save you. I know Im always skeptical but protech is my new jam. I'll be back for a muffler and an oil change. read more

I should have read the reviews before going here. I went for an inspection to get a sticker and I don't have a front plate, never put it on and I wanted to keep it that way. Honest shops would either tell me my car won't pass when they see it without a front plate or just take it and pass it without the front plate on. The mechanic that took my car approached it from the front and clearly saw I had no front plate. He took it in and failed it and then told me I have to pay for the "work" which consisted of him standing next to my car for ten minutes and printing out the failed inspection sheet. That tells me all they care about is grabbing people's money. I used to go here for gas all the time but no more. This clown show will positively never get my business again. read more

I trust them for their knowledge, their approach, and high quality service based on my towing experience this morning. Paul arrived and first asked me about my car (an Acura) and what issues it had (coolant and antifreeze leaking - which are the same, which I did not know) and took me and the car to a service station. Mind you it was not Pro Tech but another group who is my mechanic, and he was pleased that we were taking the car there - that is the kind of business that this group runs: they are honest and do excellent work, and not above telling you how good someone else is. I would not mind taking my car to them based on my experience today. I began with a tow and left with an education about my car and the kinds of things I should think about to take care of it correctly. I have been here many times for gas, but lately I have found other local stations to have cheaper prices. I don't happen to be a blonde, so I guess that is why I don't get that type of a reaction. That's ok though, I like my hair (and myself) I don't need a bunch of gas jockies hoarding around my car to make me feel good about myself. They also need to teach their employees to speak English. (This is America !!!) There have been to many times when I have had to repeat myself several times in telling them how much gas I want. I do have to admit that the two times that I have had to use my AAA, they were quick to respond, but again the language thing aggrivated me. Every driver knows what they are doing, their trucks are clean, new, have all the best equipment and are always willing to drive us where ever we need to go. WARNING: BE AWARE OF THESE PEOPLE: THEY ARE THIEVES: DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!! I called Pro Tech to discuss the charges. I spoke with a female first who said she would call me back and never did. Then I spoke with a male dispatcher who was very rude to me when I explained that I was not told the charges start and end in Waltham. I told him that I could not believe that Framigham to Leominster was $262.50 He kept explaining that the charges start and end in Waltham but when I tried to explain that nobody told me that, he didnt try to be accomodating. I was under the impression the charges were from Framingham to Leominster. The dispatcher hung up on me. I called back three times and was hung up on each time. On my fourth call, he answered and remained on the phone and I told him I was going to file a compaint with both my bank and insurance company. His response was "Ok, whatever" and then hung up the phone. This was very unprofessional and rude and I dont feel I was treated appropriately and am upset that the charges were placed on my debit card after they had told me they were only holding my card incase the $100 from my insurance didnt cover the tow, but they anticiapted it would. I think that $162.50 on top of the $100 that my insurance covers is excessive and abusive. It is only 27 miles from Framingham where my truck was picked up to Leominster where it was dropped off. This has been needless aggrivation that I have to go through and very stressful when I am already stressed about having to tow the truck to begin with. It is unbeleiveable to me that a company would treat their customers this rudely. read more

worst company ive ever had the displeasure of dealing with. they towed my car from a lot in the garden crest apartment complex. the lot had no signs saying residents only also all spaces were un marked and there was plenty of open spaces to boot. I looked at other vehicles parked in lot non of which had and sort of sticker or parking pass and after asking my friend who lives across the street and numerous other drivers in the parking to make sure it was visitor parking all of which replied yes and added that they were visitors as well. I drive a brand new Toyota Tacoma which now has several scratches on the hood and chips out of the rear bumper. upon taking picture's of every angle of the space and parking lot I ended up having to take a Lyft to the establishment and after going in and talking with the rudest staff I've ever dealt with, they told me that I had to pay $145.00 charges? (tow was under a mile) and the after finally caving in before I got more furious than I already was, went to give him my debit card to which he said it was cash only, so I had to go waste money at the atm paying a $3.50 charge and told them I was going to get the cops involved and that if they wanted to handle this the hard way im going to get all my money back one way or another. needless to say il take this dump of a place to court. sketchiest and worst auto place in all of Waltham.
