I took my car here for years bc curtis was always courteous and respectful. I recently dropped my car off for a simple engine light fix. He proceeded to loan my car out to another midas customer who totaled it. After approaching curtis, he refused to pay for the vehicle, and I'm left me with the tow and junk yard fees. Now that these fees are in collections, I am working with the Deputy Attorney General of California Consumer Affairs against Curtis. All consumers beware of this Midas, and if you have any complaints- file them with the Bureau of Automotive Repair at www.bar.ca.gov it's an easy form to complete. read more

I just wan to say Curtis and staff are amazing at what they do here! I purchased a set of tires over a year and a half ago from here at a great price. Just recently had a flat due to a box cutting blade on the road. At first a tire was ordered and brought over ASAP from Benecia but later not needed as my tire was still repairable. I'll start of by saying it's cool they are open 7 days a week. However this is where things go down hill we brought a van in for some work. These folks charge way to much for what they did to the van. A new battery, alternator, and alignment. Well it came out over a 1200 I don't understand where all the time came from. Granted they knocked 150 off the bill after I argued with them. I normally would not leave a negative review for anyone as I don't have the time. But this place just totally rubbed me wrong!!! I'd like to say I'm sorry about leaving a negative review but I'm not because I feel as if we got taken advantage of. I mean did you charge me for the three hours you tried charging a dead battery or what??? I told you it needed to be replaced!! I'm still pissed about what we paid. The owner listened to me and drove my car himself after I told him it was 'shimmying'. I took it the Mazda dealership in Vallejo, they said nothing was wrong with it. It continued to drive strangely and I took it to Midas. Curtis drove it and almost had an accident after the shimmying started. They diagnosed the problem and now it drives much better. I needed to have my car's fluids checked before a big road trip this weekend. I knew this shop used to have a horrible reputation, but was now under new ownership. Made an appointment and arrived this morning. They took my info, asked me to wait, and they checked out the car with a complimentary inspection. After 20 minutes Doug the Manager came back in and told me my car was fine and not in need of oil or fluids. He refused my offer to pay them something for the inspection and peace of mind. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE! SHADY BUSINESS ALERT Short story is- For my business I do maintenance work, including bringing company trucks in to be serviced. For a few weeks I was taking a few different 2013 F-150's in here for oil changes. Every time I did, they would quote me on thousands of dollars of "absolutely urgent" work to be done. I shopped around every time, and each time I took my trucks elsewhere, I was told that the trucks look fine to them and not to trust Midas. I should have listened. I then took in my bosses 2013 Honda Pilot with a slow-leaking tire. When I got it back it seemed alright, but the next morning my boss called me to tell me it was flat again. I took it in to D'ADAMO's this time and they told me Midas incorrectly plugged the leaks and that they totaled the tire. D'ADAMO was excellent - next time I am going there for tire problems. Midas is a SHADY BUSINESS. Not only is the work they do poor quality, they are also inefficient and over-priced. The owner, (who I won't name out of respect and privacy, but you could easily look up) is a jerk and talked to me in a demeaning tone, which I wouldn't have minded as long as the work was quality (and it wasn't). They also call me and email me with appointment reminders for appointments I never made. They try to make you feel obligated to honor your fake appointments. Another shady technique to get you to spend your money there. Don't be stupid like me and learn the hard way... Learn the easy way by listening to people here on Yelp. I was visiting napa for a day with my gf and realized my back brake light was out. I called first thing in the morning and they said even though they were busy they could squeeze me in. It turned out it wasnt the light but the fixture, but they kept working on it and fixed it within an hour. This was truly exceptional customer service and they didn't overcharge by any means. Five stars for this staff, who were a saving grace being the ONLY place open on a Sunday and willing to help us out. Robert was extremely nice when chatting on the phone and giving us a trick to help get our stuck tire off to switch to a spare and then encouraged us to come by so the team could check out the problem. Met Mohammad when we came in and he was so welcoming and very helpful. He walked out to our car with us and was super informative and patient. They quickly discovered and resolved the problem in under 30 minutes. Tracy was great and very friendly and had our car out to us in no time! I told them I'll wait a little while. I thought I would just go to Midas with a coupon to save some $$$. I dropped off my car in the morning and didn't get it back until right before they closed. They had my car all day and all they did was a break inspection. Then they tried to tell me I needed new rotors, pads, clips, and other things for $1,100. What a joke! My girlfriend took her car here and the next day or too she noticed her car was making funny noises. Come to find out when they rotated the tires they didn't put the bolts on tight and the tires were about to fall off! So she called to complain and they said someone tried to steel her wheels coudn't off been them! Sorry NOT THE CASE MIDAS! Another story is I took my car back there to get oil changed and they of course find 100 new problems telling me my cars not worth fixing because of a terrible oil leak... Well the good thing my friend is mechanic and it was only the rubber seal around the bolt that losens the oil pan. There was a few other small issues but I'm not going into it. The only reason I went back is because I had a ticket for a $5.00 oil change.. And its TRUE you get what you pay for but don't trust this place and don't take your chances.. Ok, so my experience wasn't great but what I respected was Curtis (the guy in the office) and how he managed everyone. A lot of people were working slow or not doing the right thing and I could hear him coaching them while handling customers in the office at the same time. Very fast paced and hectic so I respected his work ethic. Graig did my oil change which came with a tire rotation, break inspection & some other things I forgot. Curtis told me my air filter and cabin filter needed replacing. I only replaced the one that is for the engine (I forgot which it was) for $39. After reading these other review I'm a bit worried I may not have needed that to be changed as I just had everything replaced 4 months ago and have only added 1,800 miles since. Aside from actual employees, a CUSTOMER made a racist comment to me but that's a different story. Anyway, not a bad experience. Employees just need to pick up the pace to avoid long waits. I've been working with other techs that were great & then the manager tried to charge me $88 for a full synthetic oil change (with a $20 off coupon- so total $108) - another Midas told me it should've been $75 and $55 with my coupon. I had a coupon for a $20 dollar oil change, well it somehow turned out to be $59. I had an appointment at 7am and I didn't leave until 830am. I was the first one there as well. An hour and half for an overcharged oil change. They tried to tell me all my tires were bad, when one was just bought 3 and half months ago? Two other customers were in there. They both were not happy either. I will never go there again. I was really shocked because I get great service from Midas in West Sacramento, and for a lot cheaper price. The Midas in West Sac work with amazing fluidity, when I was watching them in Napa, I was really wondering if it was the employees first day at work. Leaving that place is practically dangerous. They park cars that can't let you see oncoming traffic. You live and learn. read more

Choose another auto shop. I brought my car in for a walk-in oil change. I told them I was going on a road trip the following day and needed the car lubed and ready. Curtis was polite and helpful. They were able to see me right away, which was great. The job was done in a little over an hour, great. They did an inspection and checked my tire pressures, great. Then they tried to scam me. I was told the seals connecting my axle to the transmission were leaking and had to be replaced. The mechanic, Justin, recommended that I replace the whole axle. According to him, replacing an axle is a normal thing to do around 60k miles. My car is at 55k miles. He said he could do the work right away so my car would be ready for my trip. He quoted me over $700 for parts and labor. I respectfully declined and took the car to an honest mechanic in St. Helena for a second opinion. After inspecting the car, my mechanic determined that my seals weren't leaking and that my axle was fine. The seals did show wear, but nothing out of the ordinary for a car at 55k miles. No work was necessary. Further, he metioned that had Midas actually identified a leak in the seal, they would have had to check the differential oil level, which they had not done. Be prudent when choosing who works on your car. Many mechanics prey on laymen, who don't know much about cars. Shame on Midas for their shady business practices. They're nothing more than scam artists. read more

I walked in for an oil change and they tried to charge me $90 for it. I ended up leaving before they pulled my car in. They tried to charge me for high mileage. Mine is not over 75,000. When they pulled my car around one of the workers was hounding me about I would pay the same amount if I went to the auto store. That's not true because one quart is only 5 to 6 dollars per 5W 20. At 5 to 6 quarts that's only $36 Plus the cost of a filter. I don't like it when people think I'm dumb and try to screw me over. I've heard many complaints about this particular Midas and I will not be going back ever again. read more

Took one car in for battery issues and they quickly diagnosed the problem, laid out what the options were with no surprises, and didn't try and up sell/convince to add on a bunch of extra stuff. So I was experiencing car problems where my care would shake back and forth when braking or going around 5mph. I was desperately searching for help but it was Saturday and I didn't think anyone would be open! Well I call Midas in Napa and was able to bring it in right away. They diagnosed it and fixed it with lung a few hours and even pointed out an issue that I didn't know was a problem (faulty wheel bearing). I was new to these car things, however I was very pleased with the service they provided. They did not put near enough oil in, it was not even registering on the dip stick. I would put this place below one star if possible. My Experience at midas was not very pleasant. I had a check engine light on my car and brought it to midas to get repaired. A guy named Tony talked to me about what was wrong and it seemed like he didnt know what he was talking about and was trying to find an explanation to give me and telling me what I wanted to hear. 37 miles later, the light is on again. If you need an oil change or general maintenance done on your car, then midas is the place to go. Absolutely horrible experience!!! Was quoted $39 for an oil change over the phone. When I arrived they said the cheapest option was $59. I expected the standard call telling me everything was wrong with my car but their call was over the top. I had an appointment and it still took three hours to change the oil in two cars. Do not trust Midas I had to go to Midas to do my initial Uber check up. In the next several months I had a couple thousand dollars maintenance on a monthly check up and oil change I went in end of May for an oil change/ tire rotation and their complimentary check up When they said it was finished they said they couldnt find the checklist for my car but said all was good. I ask every time if the. Rakes are ok and did so several times since they could t find my list they said the brakes were good. The very next day i was dropping off uber riders in Rutherford and the rear wns started screeching like i qas dragging metal i called midas and said I had to bring it in. They put it up on the rack then showed me metal on metal and scratches. They replaced them but obviously they hadn't checked the brakes or rotated the tires or they would have seen them. They did not put the reminder sticker inside my window so i'm not sure they even changed the oil I don't know a lot about car work so all I have is trust. Midas lost my trust and lost my business and lost a customer. They do t deserve your business read more

My car overheated on my way to Napa. I checked and my radiator hose popped off of the radiator neck I guess you would call it. I told them what was wrong before I had my car towed to them. They said they would be able to fix it since I was out of town. I got here they wanted to do a cooling and heating inspection for $150. Okay, cool even though I told you what I came to get. Then they said that will take around a hour to do and they would call me. I left around 2 o'clock. Called three times to check on my car and they say the man was checking it out. At 5 they were still not done and said they won't be able to fix the part until Tuesday. It would have been $571. I am displeased because I called Way before I took my car to make sure that it can get done today. I look under my hood and it's worst then the way I brought it. One of the hose was all the way off just laying on the inside. Like what happened. It was not a good day and end up having to tow my car again but all the way home to Richmond. read more

Wow... All I can say is wow, I stopped by here to see if I could get an LOF service on my Ram and they charged me 230 after it was all said and done. Normally I have my vehicle serviced else where but I thought today hey.. Why not? Once I finally paid these thieves the manager Curtis gave me a laundry list of "services" my truck needs for the 100k interval. My truck currently has 110k on it and I have all the major services done by the dealer, so even though I was told they would check my fluids etc... Obviously they did not.
