Updating my review based on the recent new ownership! I decided to give this shop another try once it was under new ownership because I knew nothing could be worse than the previous owner. I'm so glad I did! The new owner and all the staff are so friendly, honest and hard working. I will absolutely recommend this shop to people I know and I will most certainly be back. The staff was very welcoming when I first arrived, they gave me a quote of what my cost would be ( and a nice little discount on my oil change) the guys working even walked me out to my car to show me the issues I need to fix. This is the worst service I have ever dealt with. My car is 11 years old, and I came in for a simple oil change. After their inspection, they told me I needed to replace the coolant circulation pump. They first showed me a price of $500 for the part but ended up charging me $700 just for the labor. They promised the job would be done in 3 hours. In reality, after spending the entire day there -- I arrived at 9 AM -- the car was still not ready. I only got my vehicle back at 6 PM, and by then I had already missed all my appointments for the day. When I looked at the receipt, I decided to check the price of the part online -- it turned out to cost less than $100. So basically, they charged me over $1,000 just for labor. They also claimed that an oil change for my vehicle would cost almost $500, and for some reason the fuel filter alone was more than $200 -- even though online it costs no more than $40, even from an official dealer. I do not recommend this place -- they will try to overcharge you and take advantage of you. It's unacceptable. I'd also like to add that while I was waiting for my car, it seemed like the mechanic didn't even understand what he was doing. They spent hours trying to refill the coolant, but the engine kept overheating. They were checking the temperature over and over, and now I'm not even sure if the job was done properly. I took my 2004 Chevrolet SSR in for an oil change. I have never had a drop of oil in my carport. The following day, I found an oil leak on the concrete the size of a dinner plate. I returned to Midas and they put the car up on the rack and "cleaned the oil filter and area around". Took it home and the next day I had an oil leak 6" wide. Took it back again, went back up on the rack and was shown it was dry but had oil seeping from the rear of the engine (a different spot). It dripped from the original spot for 2 weeks until I decided to go to 'Budget Tune and Lube' in Napa for another oil change and to check what was happening. I was told the oil filter and drain plug looked properly installed but the leak was fixed after Budget performed the oil change. Thank you Tino, manager. read more

I went here 7/12/25 for an oil change, I had to let them know the last time I was there they wrote the wrong mileage so that started Angel who I was helping me to be rude then, while doing oil change. He gave me an estimate for work needed to be done it was a lot for me, I am a senior on a fixed income, I was trying to let him know I didn't have that kind of money and he just said Yes or No do you want the work done!! I said no I can't right now. And sat down waiting for oil change to be done. I was crying then because of the whole ordeal. I guess Angel saw me crying and then came to me to say sorry for being rude. And then let me know I can do little at time of estimate starting with the most important first. They were unwilling to use a jack to change oil on a low vehicle after finding that their lifts were not usable.

Don't trust them. They used the wrong oil for my oil change resulting in damage. Immediately after they changed the oil in my diesel, the oil light came on. I returned and they said everything checked out okay and assured me they had used the correct oil. The oil light remained on. I promptly went to another mechanic, who changed the oil and used the correct oil for my car. The oil light went off and stayed off. I called and asked for a refund on the oil change at Midas. They refused. Shortly after this, my diesel particulate filter started clogging from fouling due to additives in whatever non-approved, non-synthetic oil Midas used. Super knowledgeable and lowest prices anywhere for all offered services. Plus they do oil changes, tire, suspension, and brake work! We brought our converted van here for an oil change and checkup. They thoroughly inspected the entire vehicle especially the brakes, and tires. As we had suspected we needed 5 new tires and brake work. They helped us order the correct tires through our usual provider and accepted delivery of the five tires the next day. We were able to leave the vehicle overnight in their locked and secure area. The work was done expertly, professionally, and super quick. They installed the new tires after balancing, replaced the brake rotors and pads and did the alignment- plus the oil change. The price was extraordinarily reasonable and the work was done super fast. The van is back on the road safe and riding like a dream. read more

I blew it by coming here for a basic oil change and am kicking myself because I know better. I know how terrible Midas Napa is and how horrendous their reputation is in the valley...but since the trustworthy oil change place (you know if you know) had a 2 hour line, I decided to save a bit of time and dropped into Midas because literally no one was there (because locals understand to stay far far away). Never had issues with my next to new SUV. One week after the oil change, the indicator light comes on. When I see it, I sink in my seat. I remember the conversations I've had with fellow locals about how garbage Midas is. And here I am, have blown it completely, and now with another problem. An awful mechanic has a familiar trick: the duct tape move. Goes like this: 1. Make sure and barely do the job so the car drives off the lot. 2. Make sure and break something, or poke a couple holes so a problem starts slowly emerging. 3. Get a certain % of customers to come back and spend more money to fix the problem you deliberately caused. Pretty simple. Do yourself a favor folks....never go to Midas. If you do, remember this post when you are stranded on the side of the road with no oil in your car after a $100 oil change. read more

My boss took his brand new Honda Civic there for an oil change an some suspension work. Mind you my boss lives in Hayward hills an Commute To napa 5 days a week. On his way to to work one morning he came in an had to go back out to his car for something an he noticed a big huge oil puddle under his car. This Midas here in Napa forgot to put the oil plug back in his car! Talk about poor customer service an workmanship. Luckily it didn't happen on the freeway coming into town. A friend of mine called me to rave about the services that they received at this facility. My guy was stuck in the middle of nowhere with a flat tire, ending up calling Midas and took the tire up to their facility. He got there and was taken care of in an exceptional way. At first, the shop stated they didn't have his size tire but thought they may have just saw one...and they did! They put the tire on for free and sent him on his way just so that he would not be stranded! This is the commendable service that should be offered up to people that just need a helping hand sometimes!! I would recommend this place to anyone and I don't usually do that, but for someone to brag on the business of a mechanics spot, that's sometimes to be said about the staff and their vision for their business and customers. Midas broke my truck, denied it and is now refusing to pay for the repairs. There isn't enough space to write a full review, but I hired these guys to do an oil change and fuel filter swap. They did and, in the process, they broke my truck and caused $700 in damage. Despite PROOF from a mechanic that it was their fault, they are refusing to pay the bill. They have been rude, unhelpful, argumentative and shady the entire time. In case Midas is reading this, this is Owen with the F-350 in Napa. Just so you're aware I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and leaving you negative reviews absolutely everywhere I can find. I'll also be following all of that up with a small claims suit I'll be filing with the county. Do the right thing, pay up for your mistake or I will see you in court. read more

Their printer breaks down in the middle of the day , someone leaves to get parts for the printer leaving frustrated customers waiting so they can't leave because " no one can leave until we get signed estimates on everything " no we're sorry or anything. If you want a good backyard mechanic go here. I could get better knowledge and service from A Cracker Jack box. Between Vacaville and Napa I brought my truck to them 6 times for a brake job. NAVI the owner is very arrogant and uptight. He thinks people are stupid apparently. If you read this and still bring your vehicle to this shop god help you. They are supposed to be the brake specialist and don't know the first thing about brakes. After 6 times And a visual flashlight inspection from Midas of my brakes . I took my truck to Dodge, Dodge told me MiDAS used cheap aftermarket parts and the incorrect ones at that. Needless to say NAVI and his team are incompetent and I would never go back ever. Dodge fixed my vehicle right the first time. NAVI tried to say dodge was only after the money And did not know what they were doing. What a joke. Also NAVI only offered to show me the video of the brake job if I agreed not to sue him. NAVI you are a pathetic piece of shit. All you care about is money and screwing people over. read more

Horrible I went to get an oil change and for them to check my breaks out the price for the oil change wasn't to bad, but they told me my front and back rotors would have to be replaced so I asked for a second opinion and when I went to the other place they said there was no issues with my rotors at all. I don't leave a lot of reviews for non-food places, but big props to Midas for changing my oil for cheap! They've got some killer coupons online and for the price, really can't be beat for a full synthetic oil change! What really made my visit better was that they're still open after I get off work (working til 4:30 makes it hard to book appointments most days), AND they have free WiFi. I was able to get some more work done while I waited and once my oil was changed, I was more or less done with work stuff for the day. It's nice to be able to knock two tasks out at once. Makes me feel extra productive. If you end up dropping by here and don't need to do any computer work, there's a ton of stuff nearby. You can find taco trucks on the street, Walmart across the street, and a handful of other eateries like Round Table and Subway within walking distance. If Midas keeps it up with the coupons, I'll definitely be making this my go to place for oil changes! read more

This place recently changed owners, and seemed to have greatly improved. I 'd been in the past and had hit and miss experiences, ending in a big miss where they tried to get me to replace stuff I didn't need replaced and gave me a ridiculous quote. After seeing there was new ownership, I figured I'd give them another shot, and was pleasently surprised. Got an oil change, it was quick, good price, and they even got me some new lug nuts because I'd lost the key. My elderly mother had a coupon for an oil change for $19.99, but Curtis said her Ford Escape didn't qualify and estimated it would be $59.30. She returned and the Curtis told her he needed her to approve another $750 to fix all the problems he found on her car. She agreed, intimidated by his tactics. I went to the Midas to speak with Curtis for an explanation. I showed him the service tag from Ford (from just 3 weeks prior) that proved Ford had done a full check and found none of the "problems" Midas somehow uncovered. He tried to rip the papers out of my hands and when I wouldn't let him steal them, he demanded I that leave his shop. He said he would only speak with my mother and I was not allowed to step foot on his property again. My sister accompanied my mother the following day since Curtis had charged her for a part that still needed to be installed. My sister asked for a refund but Curtis said too bad. He owed nothing and didn't care about my mother as a customer because she and her daughters are all the entitled Napa people that he hates. Let me just say that my mom is retired, and my dad was a retired firefighter who just died last month. The worst service experience I've ever encountered. read more

Hands down the worst experience at a mechanic shop I've ever had. I got a price quote on the phone for a routine service (oil change) and came in for my appointment. Once the car was already up, they had my keys, and had started work, the front desk manager told me that the cost would be double. WHAT?! At this point, my hands were tied and I felt so helpless so I had to let the work continue at a rate 2x what I was quoted on the phone. Long story short: if you're a woman with a nice car, or if you just want to work with ethical, not-sexist business people, take your business elsewhere. Last year I was on a road trip through napa and sprung a radiator leak that was pretty bad so I was forced to come here. The woman was friendly and helpful but the quote they gave me was horrific, 1200 for a new radiator with labor. I had little choice though and she touted the service and the benefits of a new radiator etc so I went through with it. JUST over a year later when it was out of warranty the radiator they installed failed! Not only that but when I brought it to my local mechanic he said it was installed improperly and had damaged other parts. I called Midas and they wouldn't do ANYTHING about it. Liar from Midas: 45 mins if you come in the next 15 mins. 10 mins later, we start filling out paperwork. 10 mins after that: OK, we'll get that started for you. it'll be ready in one hour. Me thinking: 15mins longer? Fine. 45 mins go by; I can see my car the whole time. He finally pulls it on the rack. Another hour later... With my car hood open and my air filter sitting out, Guy tries to upsell me on a new battery and 4 tires. Has it all written up on invoice ready for me to sign, even though I've mentioned I am (now) late for work. This experience wasn't just bad, it was predatory. I just changed my oil with them and as usual very fast service and the courtesy check is one of my favorite things they do they basically tell you what you need to change on you car and make several test checks on brakes,filters ,etc. then they send you message with the result and while still there you can choose if you want that service done or no! Thank you to the person on the front i am not sure his name, but he is always there to help (i am not sure it may be Robert) and my technician today was Anibal Hernandez! Great job! I have been here a couple times this past year and it was ok. I recently went there for an oil change and they told me my cabin air filter needed to be replaced and my tires were bad and I needed new tires and alignment. First of all they replaced my cabin filter 6 months on a prior oil change. They showed me my cabin filter and it had a few leaves on it. I said I did not want it replaced. So I left, they didn't reset my oil change my monitor and they didn't rotate my tires as it is included with the oil change. I believe they were upset because I didn't have my cabin filter replaced. My Girlfriend brought her car in for what sounded like a loose muffler. 7 hours later, we still hadn't received a quote for work. We stopped by later that day to check in and they were trying to tell her that the problem was in the engine. They were looking for an exhaust leak and not the muffler problem. When they couldn't find the exhaust leak they started making up crap about the engine. They tried selling her on new tires and we just took the car and headed out. She took the car to another (reputable) car mechanic and said it needed new muffler hangers ($10) a new hood strut (probably broken by Midas) and needed some routine fluid changes. Nothing with the engine. Midas is supposed to be a muffler specialist and they missed this one. Very poor service and we'll never go back there again read more

Needed a broken heater repaired. They charged a $69 diagnostic fee and diagnosed a broken thermostat and quoted $455 for parts and labor. We agreed. They did the work, then informed us that the heater still wasn't working. They advised we needed an additional fix costing $1500. So it was a misdiagnosis. They want us to pay the $455 cost for not fixing the issue. I respectfully acknowledged the labor they put in, but asked if they would cut the bill in half since it wasn't fixed. Doug waived the original $69 diagnostic fee (which was clearly a useless diagnosis) and gave me $65 off the repair cost, and said "that covers the cost of the part". Now our total cost for having NOTHING repaired is $396. I don't know much about cars, but a quick google search puts a new rav-4 thermostat replacement at $200 to $250. So not only were we way overcharged to begin with (my own fault for not researching) but they were not very reasonable or accommodating after they couldn't fix the issue. Was really hoping the new ownership/management of this place was going to be an improvement from the previous. Never again. Please don't take your car here. read more

Worlds slowest oil change. Repeatedly told them lights and brakes were done last week. Saw them removing lug nuts, they were going to rotate the tires. That was done a few months ago. Oil change almost done after sitting for almost 1 1/2 hrs. I was one of 2 customers there at the start, 5 of 6 bays empty. Need to work on communication skills! Zero stars! We walked in to have the tire pressure checked. We didn't want to come here based on their low rating but they are pretty much the only shop open on a Sunday. There were quite a few cars outside so we expected a wait especially since we didn't have an appointment (although judging by the other reviews, an appointment doesn't seem like it guarantees you much here). We were politely told that we would only have to wait 15 min and they would check/add air to the tires for free! That turned out to be way too good to be true. 45 min later we tried to get an estimate of how much longer it would take, and were rudely told to simply "wait your turn." I understand that we were probably low priority since they promised a free service, but maybe give an accurate time estimate (without the attitude)? We ended up leaving right after that without checking the tires and after having completely wasted 45 min. Thanks a lot! read more

Could not be more happier with the service I received here. Came here to get oil change/new tires/brakes/wheel alignment. While there I asked if they can perform an inspection since my Honda wasn't running as it used to. The owner and the technician were straight forward and guided me with the details without any sales pressure. I highly recommend this place. Called them to explain and their only answer was to bring it back. No way will they ever touch any of my vehicles again.
