Great Place To Get a Smog Check it Was Fast 15 min I was out wow

These guys were awesome. Only place after 6 phone calls that was open on a Saturday. Said they would look at our RV and make sure the breaks were ok. Cleared out their parking lot to make sure there was room for us. Was out in a little over an hour. Nothin wrong! Educated us on what look for or ear for when the breaks actually are going bad Friendly. Speedy. Would definitely recommend. Serko was very, very helpful. read more

Midas - Just made it into the garage! Thanks for taking care of our RV - Auto Repair Near Me - Monrovia, California

I have taken several of my cares to this facility over the last 10 years. They have always been accommodating and provided good service. Non of my cars are new so it is nice to have a dependable shop close by. But now with a change in management a new approach appears. I towed my '94 EuroVan to the shop due to a battery failure. Was quoted and job done. Then I was asked to NOT bring my vehicle back. All these years that shop has replaced multiple parts on my Euro and now they turn their back on a steady customer. Now there is a business model to work from. They will never see any of cars in the future. read more

DISHONEST SHOP. Awhile ago, my wife brought our car here because there was a sign for oil change for $19.99+tax/disposal fee. The guy at the shop calls us and says that we need brakes on all four wheels. When I told him I will come by to look at the brake pads myself, he said "everything was put back together already". When he said that, it sounded very fishy so I declined the service. When we went to pick up the car, he jacked up the oil change price to $25+ saying that the $19.99+ special was only if we applied for a Midas credit card. When I took the car to another shop, they found that none of my brakes needed replacement. DO NOT COME HER!!! Why would the shop put the wheels back onto the car BEFORE talking to the owners first about whether or not we wanted to go forward with new brakes??? The truth is...they freaked out when i said "I want to go there now to see the brake pads for myself". They lied about our car needing brakes, and the other shop i went to confirmed it. Making money is their first priority under the disguise of "protecting customers' safety". No discount or apology afterwards could reverse this level of dishonesty. I will continue to discourage my friends, family, and others on Yelp/social media from coming here! PS. Also false advertising on the $19.99 oil change sign because nowhere in the fine print on the sign did it say a credit card application was required!!! read more

I had previously posted, but now see that the review was never acknowledged and has been removed, so I am going to re-post because I think the public needs to know how awful these people are at this Midas establishment. I had been to Midas of Monrovia a couple of times a few years ago and the service seemed very good and the interaction with the employees was good. However, I went for an oil change and tire rotation in Sept and had a terrible experience. First of all, I am not your typical woman that one can take advantage of. I have spent much time working on cars in my past life, so know what to look for and the language. I sat in the parking lot and watched them change my oil. I remembered that I had not given them the key for the locknut to take of my rims so they could do the tire rotation. I was walking over to let them know where they can find the key, but they were now backing my car out of the stall. I walked in and asked the guy helping me if they had done the tire rotation (clearly knowing that they did not). He said yes we did it. I told him I didn't see them do it, but he said there was a truck in my way and I couldn't see it being done. I explained that I was in the driveway watching, not in the shop... but he insisted that the rotation was done. I asked him where they found the locknut key, and he said the glovebox. At that time he asked the other guy in the shop where he found the key. Apparently, he said in the glovebox too. I asked him to show me where in the glovebox it is. We walked out to my car and he started going through my glovebox very aggressively. I said, wait, I will get it for you. I walked to my trunk and lifted the spare tire and pulled out the key and asked him to have the tires rotated. When he returned to the office, I asked why he lied to me. He got very upset and sharp with me and told me he did not lie and that he was not there when the work was done. I found this to be very odd since he was very adamant that the rotation happened and where the key was, plus he checked me in...so not sure where he could have gone. Then he proceeded to tell me that my tires are bad and I need new ones. I told him that I had just had them changed in 2017 from Big O Tire in Glendale and that they only had 21K miles on them and I rotate regularly, so am unsure how they could be bad. He also told me that the tires were made in 2011 and that Big O Tires lied to me about them being new tires. I told him that I would contact them to see why the tires are bad and why they put an older model tire on my car. He then said that they should be changed now because it will shake very badly when I get on to the freeway and it will not be good. I said that I will take my chances and get it back to the place I originally purchased the tires. Well, I called Big O Tire when I returned home and the manager set me up with an apt asap. I drove the car on the freeway for 20 miles without any shaking. The manager got my car up on the rack right away, and of course, no problems were found. In fact, he said that the tread on the tire was so good that I will probably get another 40K miles out of them. Also, the tires were manufactured in 2016, not 2011 as the guy at Midas told me. So, my advice to anyone that wants to take their vehicle to Midas of Monrovia is DON'T!!! Stay away from this place because they are crooks. I will most certainly be taking things to the next level because I do not like seeing anyone being taken advantage of. I am just glad that I know enough about vehicles to not let someone like this unprofessional joker talk me into something that is not needed. On another note, I highly recommend Big O Tires of Glendale. I have had excellent service from them and they are very honest. Next time I will drive the 20 miles to Big O Tires in Glendale to get my oil changed and tires rotated. Adios Midas of Monrovia. read more

It was a Saturday morning when we were on the 15 north fwy hauling feed for my animals that I got a flat tire and my battery died. Called AAA and for the first time they couldn't fix my flat :-( They did start my battery! I had to call for the big guns. I called Mike at Midas. Thank God for him and Midas he saved us. Brought a 4 ton jack, changed my tire and off we were. In honor of his help I named one of goats Midas. Thanks again guys! read more

Quick online appointment. Reasonably priced. Will definitely be back. Great customer service.

I was pleasantly surprised by the service I received today. Sure, I was expecting a big-name auto chain to be pleasant and maybe even trying a little, but I called this Midas location anyway since I had one day to figure things out with my brakes. Greg, who is obviously a long time employee, was professional and very interested as soon as I told him my name. I told him I may be by in an hour or so so I could eat lunch there and when I arrived, Greg told me to get comfortable, eat my lunch and he'll see what's going on. Sure enough, I was metal to metal (as I thought) and he was very honest about the shape I was in. I could do front brakes or both brakes, but he would come up with numbers to see what I wanted to do. Either way, he had time today to get me fixed up. Sure enough, the price was right for both sets of brake pads and rotors and I agreed to it. I couldn't have asked for a nicer guy to be in charge of my needs today, especially since I only had today to do this (otherwise I would be back in a month). I highly recommend this Midas location and I look forward to bringing the truck back when I need any other service that they provide. Well done Greg! Also, thank you for being normal, and not a pushy salesman (which I was worried about). I felt like my truck was in good hands the whole time. read more

Just a heads up, definitely ask what is going on with your vehicle. I came in for preventative maintenance check up on a Lyft fleet vehicle. I was told when I arrived that my vehicle would be done in 1.5 to 2 hours. I left on a walk and returned. After being here for 3.5 hours someone finally communicated that they were waiting on parts and approval from Lyft. No one communicated the time or that they would be performing anything besides a check up. If you don't want to be here all day, I suggest being very persistent on finding out what is going on with your vehicle so that you are not waiting around. Unfortunately I will not be coming back to this location due to poor communication and a large waste of my time. read more

We moved to California three years ago and ended up bringing our Sentra here pretty soon after moving. The staff here have been so great we decided to bring the car here for everything from an oil change to new tires. The car hit 100,000 miles about a year ago and then we found out that we needed to be able to do daily round trips from Pasadena to Victor Valley College, which is about 80 miles one way. So we have racked up a lot of miles very quickly in the last several months and have brought the car in for service every month. They've serviced the AC system, fixed the transmission, and we will need to service the brakes soon. We like bringing the car here because the staff are super attentive and honest about their recommendations. They don't try to sell us anything we don't really need. The prices are reasonable. We feel like they care about our car as they would care for their own! The car is at 130,000 miles and still going strong thanks to the staff at the Monrovia Midas. read more

Midas of Monrovia really saved my bacon. I needed work done on my car and they were fast and thorough.

See previous reviews. This is my 3rd review for Midas Monrovia I'm sure we've all experienced the difficulty in finding a mechanic that not only meets our expectations but to exceed is almost unheard of. I've tried various repair shops that keep my relationship only because I have to go back over and over to get them to correct the service that I've paid them for. The day i drove into my local Midas and met Robert was a great day! He was not only the Manager but a Technician/Mechanic and was so knowledgeable, so efficient, so ethical, so fair and such a kind man. I brought my vehicle to him and Robert did not disappoint! I then took my other vehicle and again and his work and service was perfect and I knew I finally found my mechanic. Our business relationship has been building over the past year or so. I then began referring Robert (not Midas) new customers... my brother, my mother and I referred any friend that needed work done on their vehicle and I or they were never disappointed! Being a local resident of Monrovia made it so convenient to drive down Myrtle and pull into Midas and know that I can count on Robert to take care of my cars. I went to go see Robert the other day and was struck with shock and huge disappointment when I informed by another technician that he is no longer employed there. I will be reaching out to whoever the owner of this location is to find out why that is. As for now I will no longer be bringing any of my vehicles, nor my brother, mother and friends to this location because I do not have the confidence in the other technician at this location. Until further notice I would be extremely cautious or leery of having your vehicle serviced by a mechanic that is not ASE certified. When I find out where he is you'll see my review so you'll know where your car can be taken care of and in be in the best hands. David Perez read more

Greg Licerio is a true good guy. My daughter was moving and started having car trouble on her way to her new place. She was already hours from home. I called Midas and spoke with Greg. I told him the situation & asked him to please help my daughter. He spent time diagnosing and troubleshooting the car. He was very honest and took care of her. He got he back on the road quickly. I called to thank him and he said said "your welcome, I have kids also." From one dad to another thanks Greg. Awesome guy. read more

Very helpful staff, extremely friendly and understanding. Mechanic informed me that the shop that I had previously gone to did a terrible job on my brakes. Not only did he give me a great deal on my rear brakes, but he fixed the problem caused by the former shop I went to in the front brakes. Refreshing to see such honesty and good work ethic these days. Definitely will be going back. read more

Mike the owner and his team are down to earth people, honestly loyality and very respect people is what they are. I needed a brake and light inspection on my 2012 Maserati GT. They put my car on the jack took off the wheels and found my brakes where very low. Omg this is going to cost a arm and a leg since it's a Maserati is what I thought. He qouted me a very reasonable price which I couldn't refuse. My car was done within a hour and back on the road. Thank you Monrovia Midas. I will be back for a tune up soon! read more

This is the second time I've brought a car to Robert and he's been extremely honest with me on what needs to be fixed and what can wait. He doesn't beat around the bush and is always looking out for your best interest. I called to schedule an appointment to have my car looked at before a road trip and worked around my schedule to have a mechanic available when I had a limited time slot to bring the car in. Again, he is very honest and I recommend his Midas shop to anyone who feels like they get ripped off anytime they have car troubles. He truly just wants his customers to leave happy, which I have both times! read more

Thank you Robert for the honest customer service I received yesterday I'm sure the day was not very pleasant due to the heat but you still educated me on the issue and suggestions to take care of my car in an enjoyable way. I feel reassured my car will have no near future incidents after your diagnosis. Thanks for helping me replace my wheels! read more

First time coming to this Midas, I was driving in from Vegas and was losing power as I was accelerating. Robert was able to diagnose the problem right away, even though there were some subsequent problems that came up throughout the day, he made sure I was satisfied with everything he planned on doing before he did it. He kept saying he was looking out for me and my best interest and was doing everything he could to make sure I was satisfied before driving away. read more

Service was friendly. They price was good. I did make an appointment and they did quite 60/90 minutes which was the downfall. Not only that I was the only one there and the gentleman was working in my car then some man came with a tire issue twice and the gentleman stopped working in my car to help this other individual . I think it's great customer service for the other person but not for me when I'm the one with the appointment. I get the gentleman was the only one there and I appreciate the help, but isn't an appointment the sole purpose so that time is set aside for me and get a what I need done ...otherwise what is the purpose? read more

Unfortunately, I had to take my car in due to it dying on me. I had to call for a tow service and really had no choice where to go but glad I went here. The employees were great and very friendly. Always fast and reliable service from these guys. We take all of our vehicles there for everything. Been going there for years!!!

Worst shop I've been to. There employees need to learn some respect to customer and do their job right the over change me and other people for tires and I can go some where else for a way cheaper price . The manager here doesn't care about customer satisfaction. read more

I took my car for oil change I was there for about an hour and 10 minutes I took a coupon that Include tire rotation They told me it was included before I signed the papers after that guy was done with the oil change he told me it was not included that I needed to spend more money in order to rotate my tires I don't think that's right they should've let me know before I got the oil change. Great service here at Midas! I let them know that I went to a competitor company and they were estimating a very high price for back brake replacement. They were very reasonable with their prices and their staff even found important issues with my car that the other company didn't. Also, with Midas, I get a lifetime warranty for my back brakes!! Christina & Braulio made sure to not sugar coat anything with prices and offered other price options that fit my budget. Thanks so much!! read more

Our entire fleet gets serviced there. This place operates like the "good old days" Mike and his amazing crew are the most honest, skilled, kowagable, polite and caring team. They have multiple work bays that speed things up! I live in reseda which is an hour drive from Monrovia so I call often with questions and advise. I have been to many automotive repair shops, this place not only is thorough and uses quality parts, but it also makes one feel welcoming and comfortable while waiting if one chooses too like I did. This place has very very clean and very pleasant restrooms with a very nice decor. As a woman I greatly appreciate a nice cleAn restroom. This is my go to place for all my car needs. The staff is amazing. They always get me in and out as quick as possible since I have a busy schedule. I met Braulio first about a year ago and he was so helpful in going over what was needed for future car repairs. We broke it down with name, parts, labor and cost just so I could plan ahead. Since then I have worked with Kristina in making my appointments or asking a quick question. I always build relationships prior to committing to long term service. Quick and good service. I recommend this place to fix your tire in Monrovia. Great customer service and good price.

I love this place! I was first introduced to this place by a friend - mainly because Mike (the manager) was known to be such an upstanding guy. Well, he didn't disappoint. I used to take my car to the dealership for work and found it way too pricey. I shopped around and found that other places seemed to really up-sell things...I suspect because I'm a younger female. Mike doesn't do that in the slightest. He is extremely trustworthy, has never pushed me to go for unnecessary work and really tries to work with you on the price if you're getting a few things repaired. Every time I go to this Midas, they always (ALWAYS) find what is wrong. And since I know nothing about cars, my descriptions of what I'm hearing/feeling the car do aren't always the most helpful. I've had multiple occasions when I've taken my car to other shops that haven't found the problem. I take it to the Mike at Midas days later and he easily finds the cause of the problem and finds a reasonably-priced solution. I never write reviews - pretty sure this is my first one on here - but I had to because Mike deserves some kuddos. He's the only person I fully trust when it comes to my car. read more

Two times I've brought my 2001 Pathfinder here AFTER not getting problems fixed at other garages and two times, Mike (the owner at this Midas) has made sure my problems got fixed. On my most recent visit, my "check engine light" would keep coming back on after they worked on the Pathfinder and each morning, I'd bring the car back to them to tell them. They kept working on it (mostly Mike, I think) until finally the issue was resolved. It is somewhat of an inconvenience, but I work up the street from them, so as long as they could drop me off at work and pick me up later in the evening, it wasn't that much of an inconvenience and so far, they have never not been willing to drop me off and pick me up. If my check engine light kept coming on at other garages that had serviced my Pathfinder, I would get one of two responses: 1. they keep charging me as they keep having me buy more parts 2. after they have me buy all of the parts they want, they act befuddled that the car still isn't working and look at me as if I know what to do. Mike and his mechanics at this Midas are my go-to guys moving forward. read more

Absolutely amazing! Daniel did an excellent job in exceeding my expectations. I had a horrible experience with the Midas in Norwalk and Daniel went out of his way to contact the manager at the Norwalk Midas to see if there was anything that they can do to help me. While Daniel was on the phone, he stated and I quote "well the customer is right here, is there anything that we can do for her because the customer comes FIRST". Needless to say, the Norwalk midas was not willing to cooperate, but Daniel helped me at a great price and allowed me to see the work he has done for my peace of mind. This Monrovia Midas has the CREDIBILITY and TRUST from me and I highly recommend to use their services. Thanks again Daniel, you truly understand the concept of customer and business relationships.
