Midas in mentor, I'm extremely disappointed in you. Midas decided to use a crowbar on my car to open my hood latch, without my permission and left this damage. On top of that, they told us me they used a rag on top and caused no damage. How can a rag stop the force they used? I am extremely disappointed. Not to mention, they broke my hood latch in the past and I had them fix it. it still wasn't properly fixed, but managable. Now, they just created more problems. More money and issues coming out of Midas than them actually solving the issue. Do better. If only there was a 0 start option.... read more

The staff was very knowledgeable. They gave me a printout with a visual of the work that needed to be done. They worked with me on a price for the oil change for under $40. They fixed another matter. Then explained and physically showed me other things that needed to be fixed right away. Driver's side front tire. It was done without haggling or cohesion of any kind. The employees at Midas are great, it is the owner "Willy" that is a complete and utter a-hole. We asked him after the work was completed if we had to fill the coolant to the line. We knew from previous experience that the coolant would need to be topped off. He told us no. So when we came in the next day, after losing 65% of the coolant in the reservoir, he started a fight by telling my mom that he did not have time. he claimed she threatened him by her asking if he because he wasn't talking to her. And then when I got involved, he kept interrupting me and would not talk to me, even though I was calmly asking and showing him proof. He kept saying that it was low because the engine was on. So I turned it off and nothing changed just like I knew it wouldn't. He kept lying to us and getting really defensive as if he deals with this a lot because he is an a-hole. He kept sarcastically asking if we were mechanics, implying that we were stupid. read more

on 08/17/2024 i had appointment at the midas in mentor ohio at 8:30 to have a muffler installed was there waiting they had to order muffler it arrived at 9:45 was done at10:16 less than one hour work time in in stalling new muffler 507.00 dollars 300.00 of that was labor what a price for less than one hour of work . what a rip-off will never go back and will tell every one i know about the very high price .i called midas international, llc is an american chain of automotive service centers headquartered in palm beach gardens, florida. in its north American main and home market, midas stores are company-owned or franchised. in the 17 other countries it operates in, the service centers .no help with this matter so buyer be wear out rageous labor rate 3 times what a dealer gets. read more

I ordered tires from tire rack to be installed there. I asked for oil change conventional. When picked up the car was almost 300 dollars. I asked for detail of bill They one over charged me almost 70 dollars on instill. Then gave me full synthetic oil. Granted that's what car ask for. ( didn't know yet never got a call). After showing. Him online price of install. He says to me guess I work for free today. Then I ask him if brakes are good. He responds why would we look at brakes if you didn't ask. read more

This may sound weird but my review is based on when I had my first car in 2017. I went to this Midas consistently for repairs when Mike Jones the scammer was there. I felt like I was taken advantage of in the worst way. I had an 01 Honda Accord that was already in bad shape but when I took it to this place for an oil change (the tale as old as time story) I was told about 5 million other things were wrong and I mistakenly listened and spent the money next time. Then my whole tire came off (I don't place total blame on them here) but I then again took it back to smooth talking Mike Jones who quoted me I think around 800 under the table to "fix" it. It gets better. Then my transmission fluid leaks. I drive from work to home at 20mph. Then again I take it to Midas but Mike Jones isn't there conveniently. I complain and they say "they can't fix it" (laughable I know). I take it to Honda and they say what ever Mike Jones did under that table was the whole issue. Story ends with I only buy new and take my car to certified dealers. I know all places can't be 100% but that whole situation turned me away from corner store mechanics and ones that sound too good. I am unsure if Mike Jones is still there but I'm sure wherever he is there is a woman being told car lies. Stay safe out there ladies, we're these mechanics favorite target. read more

Had my girlfriend go here so that they could take her snow tires off and put her summer tires on An older man checked her out and was being rude to her and charged her 75 in labor and 11 in parts when there were no parts needed for this tire swap. He told her that her break pads were bad and she needed a new rotor and that it would cost 1 mil to replace! And proceeded to say that she could afford that. She then proceeded to say her dad could just do it and he trash talked her dad saying he does t know anything about cars despite not knowing her father at all. Then she went to use her credit card she just got and tried to use tap pay and he snatched the card from her hand and shoved it in the machine and said "it doesn't work like that, it's okay though it was just a dumb blonde moment. Very rude service and very un ethical experience. Would be nice if this business had some class n respect for there customers and place of business. Definitely would recommend supporting a different business that has respectful workmanship and respect for there customers of any gender age race if you are looking to get anything done on your car without having to worry about them taking advantage of you. read more

I got a flat tire on the way to a baby shower coming in from out of town. I was planning the shower and had all the decorations and favors in the car. We had our dog with us too because we are in the middle of moving. They helped me immediately. They let our dog come in and even gave her water and got my car up and fixed the tire right away. . And it was free!!! What!?! I guess that's the "Midas tire promise". Best place ever!! read more

I was recently f***** over by a backyard mechanic that ran with my $ and parts and left me with absolutely NO heat or anything. I came to Midas and they checked it out for me. Unfortunately it was a little more damage than it should have been and would have costed me more than an arm and a leg to get fixed. Luckily, I got sweeped up and saved by this AMAZING guy named Mike, that was willing to do what he could do to help me SAVE MONEY and have at least some type of heat for me in this 30 degree weather. They charged me twice for the labor, when I contacted the corporate office to explain what happened, I didn't even get a response. I will be relentless until I get my money back. They ordered a part for my car but ordered the wrong part & had to reorder it & I had to wait extra longer for their mistake. I asked for a full synthetic oil change but they gave me a conventional oil change instead. The idiot working the service counter acted like it was a good thing because I paid less for an oil change. Steer clear of this place they did my transmission I got the transmission from another place and they put it in the transmission was warranted and their labor was warranted I then brought it back about a month later not even with issues when I brought it back they had it from June 2 until a week ago and then they found out finally what the issue was once they found out what the issue was it was that they ruined the transmission when they put it in and they were blaming the place I got it from once I retained a lawyer they would not talk to me anymore now I just got it back today and there's water leaking out the back door from either the window being down to the door being open they do not take responsibility for anything read more

I was totally ripped off at this place. I dropped my car off for an oil change, and before I even handed over the keys I showed them the coupon I had for $29.99 that included a conventional oil change, tire rotation, and brake inspection. When I showed up to pick up my car I was told the total would be over $60. I explained that I had showed them the coupon and the man just responded by saying they did a high mileage oil change instead of the conventional. First, I was never asked about it, and second my car only has 51k miles so I'm not sure how that counts as high mileage. The best they could do was offer me a $10 discount. So I ended up paying $51 for an oil change I never asked for, and I noticed my tires hadn't even been rotated. I understand mistakes happen but this just seems like a situation where I was totally ripped off. read more

I just moved into the area and went to this place for the first time. The manager, Mike, was great! I was sent there by the guys at advanced auto parts to get my headlight bulb changed. Mike did not have the bulb in stock so he called advanced auto parts and told them I was coming for the part. When I arrived the part was waiting for me and went back Midas and Mike put it for me. Going to update my review because the rude man I talked to on the phone at Midas apologized to me in person the next day when I came in for an oil change. In his own words he said he was being an "ass". I give credit to anyone who can own up to their mistakes/bad behavior and apologize for it. Took my daughter's car in for rear rotors and pads. I picked it up and drove it home. I noticed that the brake pedal went almost all the way to the floor also noticed a thumping noise in the rear driver's side tire. I didn't want to drive it. I was waiting until Monday to bring it in although I was to return it to my daughter at college on Sunday. I just happened to look at the rear tire and tried to move the lugs nuts - they ALL moved! I could turn them ALL with my fingers. I jacked the car up in the driveway and tightened them. I test drove it down the driveway, pumped the brakes and the pedal came up from the floor. I called them this morning and they told me the car had been test driven and that the lug nuts were all tightened and checked? I'm just glad while I was driving my tire didn't fall off and cause an accident or worse...or for that matter while my teenage daughter was driving it. I wouldn't jeopardize my safety or a family member, double check their work before you leave. read more

Everytime I go there, they tell me something new is wrong with my car after the inspection. When they told me I needed new tires, I decided to wait and check elsewhere for prices. When I came back next time with my exhaust hanging, they didn't even mention needing new tires (I hadn't changed them yet) after the inspection. They did, however, quote me for $700 to change my whole exhaust system under my car. I said I can't do that. They said how about $300 to change one part. They showed me under the car and said it was rusted and needed changed. Mind you, nothing was going wrong with the car other than the tailpipe was hanging low, no actual problems. I said I couldn't do it. Got the estimate and left. I called my uncle who lives an hour away and drove to see his friend who owns a car repair place. All that needed done was the part needed welded back under the car, no problems with the actual parts. He did it for free. Ladies, especially, I have been ripped off so many times dealing with my car. If you feel like you can't trust who's doing the work, don't go there. If you feel like they are giving you a bad deal, get another estimate. I'm no longer willing to be taken advantage of at these car places. I will say the staff was friendly, I just didn't trust them. read more
