Went here for an oil change, they took my cabin filter out and said it had a snail and acorns on it. They put it back in and left the debris in there. When I turned my heat on the whole front of the car vibrated and it sounded like a plane landing in the front seat. TLDR: Shit Service, Shit Attitude, Shit Management. They scam people and don't take responsibility. Possibly one of THE WORST experiences I've ever had with this place. Was told I could bring my car in around 8am to get tires installed. Was told the car should be ready by 12-1pm. I showed up at that time and the guy at the front desk told me he was going to call me to ask about other services. I already stated what i wanted to be done to my car when I showed up the first time. I thought they were already done with my car but they finally started working on it after 15 minutes. The workers don't really work, all they do is talk and wander around. A few minutes after, some guy came in. He stated he dropped his car off at 8am for a simple oil change. The guy at the front desk told him they never started and was a bit back up. Guy took his keys and left. Another customer came in complaining that he had transmission issues after visiting them. The guy at the front desk assisting the customer got offended and was raising his voice and attitude even though the customer only needed a simple request. Around closing time, they finally finished putting new tires on my car. So about a 4-5 hour job just to onstall tires. Talk about pathetic service. Horrible service and horrible management. Have use this Midas service on the Lynnway in Lynn a couple of times, and was never really very happy. It's usually a long wait they high price in the last time I was there they told me I needed a new catalytic converter for my Kia SUV. quoted me a crazy price I brought it to another muffler place and the technician they told me all I needed was the pipe to be replaced that will just going into the catalytic converter. He slid a small piece in there, welded it up and for $100 I was out of there in no time I've had this fix on my vehicle for many years now, and they be quite honest it's not about the price that I paid. I was even thinking about it was whether or not it was fear and people were taking advantage of me for this reason I will not go to mitis even for an oil change there are too many other places that I could trust and believe in, maybe it's the management or maybe it's just a company itself I don't know. Each time I go to MIDAS I am greeted by Ivan at the front desk with care and professionalism. Regardless of the size of the city, Ivan still seems to recognize his regular customers and makes them feel welcome and taken care of. To be fair, it's on me for never scheduling my oil change in time and by the time I have a day off Midas is the only one left with appointments. I just wish for once that when I schedule an oil change for 1 o'clock it meant that the car got put in at that time instead of 2:15. If i had wanted my car worked on at 2, I'd have scheduled it for two. And yes I know it can get backed up from time to time but there was no alert given about any kind of delay or backup. OK, I know I'm a girl and know nothing about cars, but that is no reason to take advantage of the situation. I needed new front brakes so I took it to midas for repair. Not only did it take them 6 hours to get back to me about what was wrong and how much it would cost, but they told me I needed new front and back breaks as well as new rotors and would cost like $600. OK NOT COOL!! I may be clueless when it comes to cars but I can tell whether my front or back breaks need to be fixed. I only had them fix the front, which took another 3 hours, although they strongly recommended that I fix my back brakes. 5 months later I took it to another location to have my back brakes fixed and they told me it wasn't necessary, that they would be OK for a few more months. The mechanics at midas are scummy, money hungry bastards. Auto service experts my ass. Unless you are going just to get your oil changed, never go to midas, they will try to screw you! read more

Made an appointment at 11:00 for an oil change. Got there on time and had to wait 2 hours. When they were done I drove my car for a little and then my oil pressure light came on and said to stop the vehicle. They never put the cap back on and then never owned up to it and said it magically fell off. Had to tow it back. Never apologized and were not friendly. Terrible experience. read more

Took my wife's car for $17.76 oil change & tire rotation special 6/16/20, not only did it take an hour but they didn't want to rotate the tires because they said the tires were in bad shape. Came back to double check on a problem that started in my front brakes right after I declined their service on them and asked them to do my rear brakes instead. Just got plenty of BS. When I told the, otherwise friendly Hispanic guy, that there is a grinding noise coming from the front of the car, he told me it's because I didn't replace the front pads. "Dude!!! The grinding noise comes when the car is driving -- NOT when I hit the brakes!!!" He wouldn't listen and blamed it on me not letting them replace the front brake pads. I have a fleet vehicle which is a pain when it comes to service (in this case inspections) because you have to use a fleet card. The cards issued say "gas only" but we are told to use them for maintenance service as well. We cant use corporate credit cards because this does not bill the Fleet company, so we are are limited in our options. The first 2 places i went refused to even try to use the card because it said "gas only". So i called the number on the card to ask where I could go and once you input your zip code it spews a list out. I went to 4, FOUR of the approved Fleet maintenance shops and not one did state inspections. I was super frustrated because it was now approaching rush hour, and being close to the city I was not in the mood on a Friday. I had already spent an 2.5 hours at this point and hadn't accomplished anything. I called the fleet company and they couldn't find any approved places (I refused to go anywhere other than a town touching mine at this point). They offered Midas, and I told him to call on my behalf and be sure they would take the fleet card because I had tried for an oil change at another Midas and was rejected because the fleet card said "gas" 2 months prior. The fleet guy called and it turns out I was right, my card would not work there. The fleet guy worked out an arrangement with Ivan (of Midas) to pay via credit card if Midas called him back when i got there. I arrived at Midas and Ivan and Connor took care of things. Granted they had to call the Fleet company a few times because it kept disconnecting them, Connor kept trying. It actually took them more time to gain the approvals and wait on hold then to do the inspections; I was so happy that they were patient because I was anything but at that point! read more

What a joke! I went in for an oil change and tire rotation on a Friday morning at 8:15AM, forty-five minutes after opening. The three mechanics and the manager are eating breakfast and apparently one customer waiting. OK, we all have to eat. But, then again, NOT exactly killing it either. He asks me how he can help. I ask if I can get a oil change and tire rotation. He asks if I have an appointment - I respond no. He points out correctly that the Groupon states you have to call for an appointment. He asks if I can leave the car for several hours - I say no (several hours for an oill change?!?). If you are a manager and your staff is not exactly over burdened wouldn't you accept work? Even if unplanned? Is the goal of the Groupon promotion to turn business away? I have been a customer of them for several years - but no more! Whoever owns this shop must be looking for LESS revenue. Worst of all I brought the car in at noon they didn't tell me they broke the part untill 6pm at close. Soooooo I was in the market for new tires and Midas gave me the best online quote. When I entered my cars info they have 3-4 tires with the same low price. I picked the best reviewed and thought I was on my way. I went to drop off my car at the allotted time. I arrived and was waiting for about 15 mins. No one was at the desk. I walked around a little and still saw no one. I finally just called from my cell phone until someone picked up. The associate named Adam walked over and with a slight attitude said " we don't have those tires, I don't even know why they come up". He then scolded me for not answering my phone. Ummm Adam, maybe you should have left me a voicemail to let me know what was going on. Suddenly Midas doesn't have any of the 3-4 brand tires I was looking for, chosen because I have a budget. Why does the website say you have tires that you don't. Why does the website say you have several tires at my price point yet you have none of those? He then tried to sell me tires that were over $200 more. I decided I'd look elsewhere. If I get a quote from a company for a product and services I expect to walk in and pay that price barring any unusual circumstances. They had me make an appointment for an oil change at least 45 min before their closing because they said they needed 45 min for the oil change. I had to leave work early because of that only to find out that it only took them 10 min after all since they did none of the other checks that they had in the package (e.g. tire rotation and checking/filling the other fluids). 2 stars for the efficiency in the oil change instead of 0 that I would five for all the inconvenience and not fulfilling the package I paid for. I've had my front breaks, rear breaks, and an oil change here. They have been great every time. When I got my rear breaks fixed I was blown away because so much work needed to be done and it was a lot of money (due to my own fault of not bringing it in right away when I thought there was a problem)! But Donna the manager was helpful and told me that I should start getting my oil changed here and have them do an inspection of my breaks when I get my oil changed. That way we can prevent future problems before they start! So I brought my car for an oil change today. Donna was there and remembered me! We chatted for awhile and I told her that my rear wind shield wiper was stolen! Yes stolen! She ordered one because I need a special type on my jeep (which was probably why it was stolen) and had them put it on!! I didn't even wait that much longer and the price with the windshield wiper and the oil change was still really inexpensive! I will be returning again for my next oil change! My car desperately needed a muffler part, and my car made it to their parking lot, but wasn't getting anywhere else. So I was pretty much obligated to get my car fixed at this place. I imagined they would charge me through the roof for it seeing my desperate situation. But, the guy was very honest and fair. He showed me exactly what was wrong with my vehicle, and told me what it would cost. It seemed reasonably priced. He had it done in an hour and no surprise charges at the end when I picked up my car. I got there right on time and said I was here to drop my car off for an oil change and they looked at me like I had 10 heads and said, well, do you have an appointment? The old guy with glasses didn't even look up at me and said "there's no way we can do it right now drop your car off and come back at six. Do not bring your foreign car to this shop! I brought my car in for an oil change. Despite the description that "the experts" will top off the fluids; rotate the tires, etc. They refused to do so. I returned my car two days in a row for low fluid levels. I was told that a Volkswagon needs a "special windshield wiper fluid" and the next day, my coolant level light was on. Again, refused to refill. They do not stock Volkswagon fluids and was informed I need to go to a volkswagon dealership. Will be reporting this location to BBB. read more

I went there to fix my breaks and rotors and they broke the hood of my car! I could not even open it! I called them and asked why they needed to open the hood of my car. Gave me some BS. etc. I called other midas locations and they said they would not even touch it. They are rude, aggressive, and only out there for your wallet. In addition, the mechanics talk all day I had to wait 5 hours on a slow day and cost my $400.00! Just deplorable. Stay away from the Lynn Midas! I agree with Jackie G. below. Its 2012 and they are still pulling those tricks. I am not exaggerating, nor do I wanna sound cocky, but I am clearly educated and smart enough to know when someone is messing around and stealing your money. Don't come here! I have had mostly postivie experiences here. Honest for a chain until my last visit. A shop manager i had not seen before was trying to do the hard upsell you get at most dealerships. He tried to charge one guy 79 bucks for a premium oil change which did not go over well. Then they tried to get me to fall for the 'you need some new belts and hoses' trick. I have a subaru and just had the 70k checkup so there are no belt or hose issues. Great place or horrible place depending on the shop manager and mechanics. The older shop managers are better, the young guy just wants to charge people who don't know any better. read more
