I was traveling from North Jersey to PA to pick up the last barbell set apparently available on earth during this whole Coronavirus thing. I was lucky enough to have broken down about 1.5 miles from this Midas. It was a big job. I had been putting off repairs despite an increasingly loud whining noise from the rear of the car. Well, turns out I had NO fluid in the rear differential due to a slow leak. The moving steel parts inside essentially fused together (luckily I pulled over to the shoulder FAST). Steve, the owner, and the mechanics there were very personable and trustworthy. They completely rebuilt my rear and replaced all the bearings. They took time to show and explain everything, and kept in touch with me throughout the process. They were so thorough with checking everything. Also, the price came in UNDER their initial estimate! This has NEVER happened to me in the history of car repairs. Highly recommended! read more

Place is an absolute criminal operation. They charged me $100 for $12 wiper blades. Swapped out 2 perfectly good tires because they said I needed them to pass inspection? They take advantage of women and people who don't know a lot about cars. Do NOT believe all the bogus 5 star reviews. They use fake accounts and buy reviews. They are scammers plain and simple. Place is a con Watch out for this place. Just got ripped off for inspection. Charged me ,$240 for a $25 amazon part(didn't include the part # on the bill so we couldn't look it up to compare) and another 180 to put it in. A 4 minute video on YouTube showed me how to do it. Complete rip off scammers. Taking advantage of a young kid. Be warned. There are plenty of other garages around that won't steal from you. read more

I called to have some custom exhaust work done to my street rod. The woman that answered said she couldn't help me but the owner handled that kind of request. She said he just stepped out. She took my name and phone number and said he would call me. Here we are 2 days later and no call. How can you run a business and not return customer calls? I will never walk into a midas again. I called the Doylestown MIdas on 8/3/19 to get a quote on a brake job. I was very specific in what I wanted to have done. I wanted new brake pads installed on my 2010 VW Jetta. I was given a go around saying that the car had 3 different options for brake pads etc. I told the specific make model and trim of my Jetta, (they never asked me for a VIN, maybe they should have!) Finally I was put on hold and the representative came back to me and quoted me 149.99$ with tax. At that point I agreed to make an appointment, for 8/6/19. On 8/6, upon entering the Midas shop, a man was behind the counter and briefly walked away and then swirved back. Turns out he is the store owner (which didn't become known until afterwards) . HIs greeting to me was much less than professional. No, "how are you today"" how can I help you" or "Welcome to Midas." I said "I'm a little early for my appointment at 11:00AM", and he replied to something of the nature of "Oh yeah?" in a snide sort of way. My intuition right there told me this person seemed like a jerk. I recapped the whole convo I had with the service technician on Saturday 8/3 . And said I was here for a rear brake pad job and the quote was 149.99$ plus tax. He then told me that he didn't know if it would cost me 149.99$. I told him I was very specific in what I had asked for when I called on Saturday and that I wanted rear pads only. The rotors are fine and the brake system works fine, rotors are worn slightly, but ok. etc. I worked in Auto Sales and for two dealerships previously. His attitude toward me was beyond unprofessional from the get go and the fact that he tried to leave wiggle room from the initial quote is unacceptable. I specifically called with very specific questions on Saturday. Even if the tech that answered my call didn't give the proper quote, he as a manager/owner should honor it, based on properly managing an expectation that was set. I don't appreciate my time being wasted. He told me to go somewhere else after we started to having an argument. This owner /manager should be let go. The man is unprofessional, does not portray Integrity, good customer service management nor staff management. I will definitely share this negative experience as far and wide as I can. I was insulted, treated like crap and had my time wasted. Come to think of it, Previously I received bad service at this location on a first visit that I should have learned my lesson from. read more

I haven't been to any other Midas locations, so I can't tell if this is the norm or not...but I received fantastic service here! I came in for an oil change, and they had a $20 special going...not bad. Then I got a phone call that my inspection was past due (oops). Another $40. Yeah, it took a little longer than I would've liked, but the woman at the front desk was extremely nice, helpful, and accommodating along the way. She even knocked off 15% on my inspection without a coupon. I would go here again for the hassle-free service, and not-too-bad price tag. read more

Came in with a flat. Waited 45 min for them to tell me it cant be fixed because they are not allowed to fix where a nail is just starting on the curve of the tire. That should have been a 5 minute diagnosis. They dont respect customers time. They pulled my car in the bay 5 min after i was here. Not amused. read more

This is a great Midas shop. They are very trustworthy and always try and work out the best solutions for the best prices. The staff is very knowledgeable and makes you feel like they aren't focused on getting out as many cars a day as they can. We went to Midas since they were conveniently located and had decent Saturday hours. We were told that the car needed $1400 worth of work to pass inspection which was a big shocker. Not trusting the mechanic, we went to another mechanic locally a few days later to find out that the car did not need half of the items that the Midas said were needed to pass inspection. They flat out made it up. The other mechanic would have passed the car with $260 worth of work, but we decided to put a little more into it totaling the price to $550. It is outrageous that this continues to happen over and over again. I am a woman who made the appointment and who they were dealing with, so I have seen this before. I believe they were fully trying to take advantage of the situation. I am sure that I was the target consumer for them. When I told the second mechanic that Midas said the car needed rotors and brakes, front and rear, he laughed and said , "NOT EVEN CLOSE". What a ripoff. read more

I went for an oil change and John let me know when I arrived to pick my car up that there were some concerns related to my alternator due to the battery light being illuminated. After I explained that this was an ongoing issue, he offered to run the test at no cost to me and on the spot. Good customer service! read more

Good despite owner's sometimes discourteous demeanor. I made an appointment for an oil change, and when I showed up, Steve, the apparent owner/manager seemed not very happy to be working. It seemed like he assumes that his customers are idiots. While they were jacking the car up, I zoned out watching some mindless morning show that was on the TV in the lobby, and then decided to get a snack from the 7-11 next door. I came back, and Steve had let me know that he would not be able to perform the oil change due to my oil pan having a temporary plug. His fear was that the threads in my pan were stripped, and that if he removed the temporary rubber plug, it might break, and then we would not be able to properly seal it. He showed me the plug (which I was aware of), and he also showed me where my exhaust was leaking (which I was also aware of,) and where I had a nail in my back passenger side tire (hooray!) He had taken the initiative to top my oil up despite not having performed any billable work (it was a quart low,) and he gave me a couple of places to look for extra temporary plugs, although he had not been successful at finding them for a while. I, likewise, was unable to find any temporary plugs, so I called him back a few days later and asked him if I had remembered correctly that his fear was that the threads might be stripped, and he said yes. Not a huge problem in my mind, because I could find a thread chaser, and fix the threading myself. There was no heartache, or attempts to pile on extra work as far as I could see. If you want to be coddled with the traditional trappings of "customer service," this Midas will likely disappoint. However, I have seen professionalism and thoroughness from this station and would not hesitate to recommend it if you can deal with the, let's say, focus on delivery of proper service vs. delivery of customer satisfaction. If you ask to be shown what the problems are, and ask for an explanation, you will receive. If you don't know what the mechanic is talking about, write it down, try to understand what is being said, and, by all means get a second opinion. Those $20 oil change specials for savvy shoppers have to be killing the station as far as cost is concerned, so if you show up with a coupon, know that the shop has to make money to stay in business, and will try to sell you work that needs to be done. A slow, methodical hand in dealing with this, especially asking for clarification, will yield positive results. read more

My mom had a great experience with this Midas shop. She took her vehicle to the shop and ended-up needing substantial repairs (a catalytic converter, defrost system repairs, etc). Not only did the shop offer to giver he a ride all the way home to Dublin and back for her vehicle, they helped us save as much as possible on the final bill. Comparing the cost of these repairs with other estimates, they came in very reasonable. They worked with us to provide a military discount, were thorough in explaining all repairs, and were extremely patient and courteous throughout the process.
