If you are looking for an honest, affordable, and ethical auto repair shop look elsewhere. My wife has gone here for years and spent thousands of dollars on repairs here. Now I have built/repaired vehicles, bought/installed parts, and worked with many mechanics over the course of 15years and I have never been more disgusted by the lack of integrity of a shop. Upon inspecting our receipts over the years I've discovered they've overcharged for every single repair; double what the average price is anywhere. Shops like these rip off the ignorant; anyone who doesn't know any better is a target by these PREDATORS for price inflation/gouging. Sure, they'll get the job done for $93/hour for time they'll never spend on your car. Actual real life scenario with this shop: 15 minute repair will be "computer calculated" at 1.5 hours, but no matter, we got charged 1.5 hours of labor anyway. When confronted with this obvious unfairness the shop blatantly admitted that though the repair would take much less time than I was charged for; as I expressed my protest their the mechanic became very defensive and responded with "this is how we calculate labor" and refused to adjust the cost. In my experience, this is always a serious red flag signifying a lack of client respect and greedy business practices. Any shop with would do the same for way less because they'll charge for ACTUAL time spent on your vehicle. I'm not saying you should go and save money; just free information from an experienced man about an extremely dishonest shop. They have more than enough money getting rich from cheating the entirety of Doylestown. Go into this shop knowing you'll pay $93/hr (double the rate of most) with at least 50% price markup for parts versus your local auto parts store (which they already get a shop discount for). They will say they are using more quality parts but if they aren't installing original parts from the dealer for your vehicle, they are using junk. If you've been going here, you are a victim of fraud. Since there's no legal recourse for you, I strongly suggest you live and learn by researching and switching to an actually honest mechanic. I also challenge you to calculate the cost of local parts using a fair labor rate; do the math and you'll be shocked and in awe of the money they've swindled. Do not support the egregious behavior of this shop's business practices. These crooks will certainly never receive our business anymore. I give them less than 0 stars with jail time. I wrote a review before & yelp removed it due to the fact that my "review" was just too negative & hate filled to serve any positive purpose for the greater yelp community. Therefore, since time dosen't heal all wounds I will try again. These "tow operators" are the crookedest, slimy, worst case scenario, Pittsburgh stereotypical low life's that I have ever encountered any where. I can only believe that these people are in business because they are in Swissvale. Anywhere else they would have been run out & forced back into mountains to live in caves away from the human populous. The problem is not that they don't know how to tow a car. The problem is with the matter that comes after they tow the car. These people change the terms of how they get paid by the mood that the owner is in which changes at any given second. Being at this "business" establishment was like popping through a worm hole & at the other end standing in the movie "nothing but trouble." These people even had the police involved in their underhandedness just like in the movie. In the garage they yelled, made verbal threats against the well being of my body, increased the price the madder they got, & then called the police to say I had threatened them & they were scared. My point is that when one of these trucks roll on the scene one would be best served to just push the car yourself. To Ohio & far away from Swissvale. They get one star from me because when they rifled through the interior of the car they didn't take any of the change lying under the floor mat. read more

I am a 10+ year customer, have spent thousands of dollars & have referred friends. Things have changed. Brought my car in for oil change inspection and check engine light which has been on and off for about a year. Car was running fine. Have been told on previous visits that it was oxygen sensor. A few hours later I was told that after performing a diagnostic scan there were numerous fault codes and the car would not even start. $1100.00 and 2 weeks later which included a new ECM and reflash I was told that the car was running but that the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT was still on and I needed a new guess what ....OXYGEN SENSOR which was another $300.00. Of course nobody will admit fault as far as the possibility that the person performing the diagnostic scan caused this problem and that all I ever needed was the oxygen sensor. Rather I was told to accept that the ECM just happened to go bad at that moment and it was just a coincidence that it was in the shop at that time. I have never written a negative review of anything and only hope that Dan Kerrigan may read it although my guess is that it will be deleted because it is negative. read more

I used to be a customer of Kerrigans for a long time. Im a single mom so saving every bit I can is helpful. I had my car serviced recently and was suprised to see a new manager. This man name Mat was the most rude and ignorant man I have ever met. He gave me an attitude everytime I asked a question. And when I parked my car he yelled at me for parking it in the wrong place. Not to mention I paid just about double I normally would have spent there in the past. I have never been treated so poorly. It is not the same place it used to be. read more
