We came in first customers at 9AM to have our brakes pads changed, and brake fluids flushed and replaced. What should have been an hour or 2 hour service turned into 6 HOURS WASTED of our day. I REPEAT 6... HOURS.. Let's start with the first mishap, shall we? Allen ordered our replacement brake pads right when we got there are 9AM. They had the original parts that were in our car sent to their supplier. Come 10AM, the parts they ordered were incorrect... I mean come on, you already received the EXACT EXAMPLE of what should be ordered. 10:30 AM comes around, ROUND 2 of our brake pads were ordered, and guess what? SECOND SHIPMENT arrives at 1PM and, the parts were ONCE AGAIN, INCORRECT. Given we had already spent 4 hours of our day, we decided to scrap the whole idea of having our brake pads and rotor replaced. We had them bring our original parts back, install it, and only utilized their service to flush out the brake fluids. Needless to say, they did such a horrible and inconvenient job. Set up an appointment a week in advance. Confirmed with the scheduler that it takes a couple days to get the tires. I said great because I am not coming in for about a week. Plenty of time to either order the tires or let me know you don't have them ahead of the appointment. Had a price request with a quoted price which I can understand isn't always accurate to actual costs. Come in for my appointment and they don't have the tires and they weren't sure when I was coming in. What? I had an appointment... They tell me they could get two of them tomorrow and not sure about the other two. Also the cost of each tire is 35% more than the quote I received. The guy at the counter was nice enough and sensing my frustration tried to see if there was a comparable tire that they have on hand and that there was a promotion. Boss man overhears and immediately says that deal expired. Look, I understand costs are rising and the price on the website isn't necessarily up to this particular location's control. I understand supply isn't what it used to be and you may have to wait to get the products you want. I understand you missed that task to call the customer ahead of their appointment to let them know the tires they want are not in stock. These things happen but, too many flags for me. Beware! George, the front desk receptionist, is rude and dismissively arrogant. I brought my Tesla Model 3 into the shop to get a flat patched. He said the shop doesn't service Teslas, but doesn't know the reason why. Then, I mentioned my tires (Michelin CrossClimate+) are used on non-Teslas as well, and he responds by saying that my tires were incompatible with my vehicle and the ONLY tires that were compatible were the factory-installed tires. I reached out to Tesla service, and this is patently incorrect. Even a quick Google search shows many tires (including mine), that are compatible on a Model 3. I left by thanking him and saying we could agree to disagree, and on my way out, he responds, "sorry you can't understand I'm right." There are many tire shops on Mission. Do yourself a favor and don't patronize this one. I eventually got my tire patched at Sunrise Auto in less than 30 minutes, but you can also go to Hillside Tires, Golden Auto, and Goodyear, all less than 1 mile away. read more

I filled out an appointment request yesterday for an oil change today. I provided all the car info and my phone. In the morning I got a confirmation for my appoint at 4:00. I arrived at 4:00 and this arrogant guy behind the counter ( he said his name is Johnny- probably a lie- But you can miss him short, fat, short hair and terrible teeth's)- and the first thing he says is that he does not have the oil or the filter for my car. The worst. Stir away from this shop, 2x I got my oil change here I was told that my tires has nails. When I came here to have them service my Jeep all 4 tires has nails. I came here a few years after, they told me that my Corolla has nails. Idk if these are coincidence or this is a scam to get more money. When I came in those front store guys are ALWAYS up-selling me more than I need. I was quoted $599 for tires and alignment that I "must" have. The guy who helped me was aggressive and got mad when I said I'll come back. I ended up going to America's Tires for $360 altogether. My advice is go to other shop. Car maintenance aren't cheap so don't go to shops like this that will steal your money and scam you! read more

We came in at 3:45pm with two oil change appointments for 4pm. There were two guys at the desks but we still waited in line. We approached the first guy available and instead of taking care of the both of us at once, he did it separately. It would've been faster if we just stayed in line and went to the two guys separately... My paperwork was not even finished until about 4:15. We sat on the couches as OVER AN HOUR passed for a simple oil change. The staff was also completely unprofessional. There were many times where our cars were not being worked on, but the mechanics were eating pizza and many even came into the office to chat. We also witnessed a lot of the mechanics mixing up and confusing customers. Once the cars were finally done, they broke down a bunch of other stuff wrong with my car, even trying to convince me that the police would impound my car if I do not get my tires fixed. Googled a while and found NOTHING about such thing. By the time we were out of there, it was 5:20 (yes even with an appointment). I guess what more could you expect for a $20 oil change. Showing up early and making an appointment does not make any difference. One star for the price, but I'd rather spend a bit more at a Pennzoil, where they actually REPLACE your fluids as well (all in 15 minutes with the oil change too) rather than Midas just checking and reporting. Better yet, I'd recommend going anywhere else (Valvoline, Jiffy Lube, dealership) than wasting an hour and a half of your time here for a simple oil change. read more

Their customer service was great but when they finished the free brake inspection they quoted me $1,400 for new brake pads/rotors. They told me they all needed to be replaced and that they needed to be done immediately. This quote seemed pretty high to me so I left, called around, and got some quotes for nearby shops. One quote from a shop down the street came in at $800 for labor and the same parts but the same thing was $450 at Jiffy Lube. So of course I went into Jiffy Lube the next day, and it turned out that I didn't need all the work Midas was trying to charge me for. I've heard alot of shops try to push unnecessary repairs on women because they assumed we wouldn't know the difference but this was the first time I've actually experienced this. Reading the other reviews this seems to happen more than it should. I will never come back to this shop. read more

I went to Daly City Midas for an oil change for my 2010 Prius on a Friday afternoon. They did the oil change and told me that I desperately needed a "belt" that could break at any time. I also needed tires and that was the more pressing need and I went to a nearby tire place because I had to take a two hour drive the next day. I called a few weeks later, referenced the work order for the belt and made ab appointment for 3:30. I showed up, sat in the waiting room for more than two hours before the desk attendant tells me that Prius do not have this belt!!! I went to speak to the mechanic who showed me this in the engine, but I wasted those hours sitting in their waiting room while the attendant apologized to lots of folks with appointments about how understaffed they were. What were they trying to sell me/scam me when I came for the oil change? The attendant apologized profusely, tried to give me someone else's car key, and promised that the manager would call me. My husband took my car here to get a tire patched. When he returned home my YSL sunglasses and my coin purse with spare change and $25 were nowhere to be found. Not a huge monetary loss, but my husband contacted the manager several times and he never even bothered to respond. They don't patch tires. They will try to sell you a new set of tires even if all you need is a $10 patch kit and basic literacy for the instructions. I brought my flat directly into the lobby and showed one of their grunts the hole. All I needed was a patch because I had gotten my Bridgestone tires from Costco 6 months ago. The tread was far from worn and they tried saying that because they "sand down tread" to patch, there wasn't enough material to work with. I get it. You sell tires. But don't ever waste my time. You could've just said "we don't patch tires" and I would've respected that. Instead, "Come down and let's take a look at it. Waited another hour to find out they can't do an alignment because there's 2,800$ worth of repairs before they can even touch the alignment. I have to give it to this Midas. If you are around the area and looking for any service on your vehicle, id highly recommend this shop. I know mine was a simple fix, tire patch for my Mazda 3, but having to not pay for the service had me flabbergasted. I was shocked and couldnt not believed what i heard. Best service, warmth welcome from the workers, easy going and fast service. One thing I noticed which had me trust this shop was when this employee used a torque wrench to tighten up the lug nuts after using an impact gun. Most shops i know just use the impact gun and off they go but NO. This shop makes sure their customer is safe when handing back their vehicle. Top notch service. They did recommend an alignment and replacement of tie rods (which would run $600) as Costco doesn't do alignments. Under new management and after a few years renovation, this place has opened back up again. The prices are a little too high in my opinion and they should work on their costumer care (the real hit and miss problem). Management has no problem sharing your issues with our costumers (with total disregard of both privacy and respect of their costumers). Their estimates are thorough and they did call me back with a quote pretty promptly. I am still not entirely sure I will be using them to fix my car, though. But they did help me out in a few situations I didn't know i had with my car I thought that was nice of them, but like I said earlier if you need to talk to the customers, do in privately about stuff not in the open. When I have the time and money I will be going there to have them look at one of the repairs I need done and see what discounts thank you give me cuz apparently they have coupons and stuff so you might want to check that out before you pay any full price. read more

I hate leaving bad reviews but I'm going to have to this time and I am sick of it. This happened a few month and no, don't contact me about my review and try to speak to me about resolving anything. Nothing will resolve this other than walking away from this shop and going somewhere that I feel respected in. In the span of 2 years, every SINGLE time I come here, there's always a problem with your car. If you have a nail in your tire, don't even come here. One nail in the tire to them means changing all tires, which is so stupid. My turning point was when I just wanted my light bulb in my car changed and the guy told me they couldn't do it and that they had to "check my car" before doing anything. I said, "okay?" So we walk inside and he said that I had "something" in my hair and he "took it off", to which I froze because like wtf?? Then I sit down and wait for him and he asks me if I'm a nurse because of my uniform and I replied "No". He proceeds to say somewhere along the lines of "Oh okay, I just thought you knew CPR" and I said "No, I don't know how". He then says something about practicing on him and that was that. I was livid and wanted to go home. As a woman, it's hard enough as it is to get honest service! I contacted a guy who details my car and explained to him the situation and he said LEAVE RIGHT NOW. Thanks to the awesome and kind staff, Ronnie and Brian, as well as Santiago, I've had my tire repaired on a rainy last minute Sunday appointment. I woke up at 11am and noticed a nail stuck in the rear passenger tire. Sure enough, i turned on my car and noticed the tire pressure indictor on. It's the third time this year that I've had a nail in one my tires! (much credit to the high traffic and heavy construction that I deal with when I drive in San Francisco). So I call Midas shortly and they were able to accomdate me with an appointment at 2:30pm, that afternoon. Long story short, I brought in my car and the tire was repaired in about an hour. I'm not one to normally bring down the reputation of other people's businesses, but I've had two extremely negative experiences at this shop. First time -- I needed a brake booster replaced on a vehicle and I brought my car in to be repaired. The repair was a little pricey ($800 or so), but regardless got the work done. I brought my car home in the afternoon. Woke up the next morning to go to work and my car battery died. So I towed it back to the shop. The battery died because they reset the brake light sensor wrong and they stayed on even if the brake wasn't pressed. They "fixed it" and I went home. Next day -- same problem. So ended up going to the shop 3+ times to get something simple fixed. Second time -- My clutch went out on my vehicle and I needed to get it fixed. I dropped it off, and I told them the problem and asked for a quote. The cashier/representative said that I he needed to run an engine diagnostic on the car to see the problem, before he could give me a quote.. I agreed, because I estimated the cost of the repair to run around $800 - 1k (which were other quotes I received). I call back the next day, and they agreed that I need the clutch replaced, and it's will cost $1500 for 5 hours of labor and $250 - $400 in parts. So now I'm out $128 for the diagnostics to be told what I already knew and have to take my car to another shop to get repaired. Avoid this place -- they do a poor job on repairs, their customer service is equivalent to a McDonalds at 2am, and their prices aren't close to being as competitive as other shops in the area. read more
