Great customer service. Honest work and price for plugging a leaking run flat tire where no one else in this area was willing to work on it. I was in and out in about 15 minutes. I will definitely consider them again if I need more work done on my car. Disclaimer: I did not let the tire go flat and the nail was in the tread and was only 3/4" long which made it possible to repair this run flat tire so don't expect any miracles if your puncture is on the sidewall or the tire was driven flat. read more

So I had an issue where the check engine light is one and it's because there was an extra quart of oil in there. Don't ask me how, because it was stupidity. Anyways, I called and asked if they can drain a quart of oil out and they said they can pump it out, so no need to lift the car and drain it and it'll be fast. I rolled thru, the guy came out with a friendly smile, pumped out a quart of oil, and the manager/owner didn't charge me. She said it was fast and not much effort. These are the type of people I would love to give my business to and I will be in the future. It's close to my house, so it makes even more sense and don't know why I never came here. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM!!!! DON'T EVER GO HERE!!!!! I took my 2006 Toyota in for a 60,000 general service maintenance and the guy completely took advantage of the fact that I'm a girl and appeared to know nothing about what was being done and ended up quoting me $975 for changing an accessories belt and adding brake pads. Luckily my friend was there to spot the shady quote and I went back to retrieve my car. Adding insult to injury, they tried to charge me $140 for the "estimation fee". This place is a blackhole that will not let you go until they extort some unreasonable amount of money from you. I ended up taking my car to a trusted mechanic and got quoted $350 for the exact same work!! BEWARE: these people are CON ARTISTS who prey on the unsuspecting customer!!! read more

Excellent service! I don't believe the reviews written by those that say the employees tried to take advantage of them because they are women. I am a young woman with fairly good knowledge of cars and engines, and I felt as though everyone at this shop treated me well. Two months ago, my 2006 Honda had smoke coming from under its hood. I drove to this shop because it was near by. I was told that my engine block was cracked (a Honda defect) and needed replacing (by the dealership). It was late in the afternoon and towing to the dealership wasn't possible, as they were soon to close. The employees at Excelsior let me leave my car overnight. The next day, I returned after work to have my car towed. I waited for AAA for two hours...past closing time for Excelsior. An employee waited with me to ensure my car was towed and that I wasn't left alone to wait. Last week, my car alerted me to check its gas cap, sensing a possible leak in its seal. I tightened the gas cap and the alert stayed lit. I went to Honda to have them check the car, and was told that I should wait a couple of weeks and the light would turn off. Just to be sure nothing was wrong, I went to Excelsior for a second opinion. The employee at Excelsior ran a test on my car to see that all the seals were tight and no sensors needed attention. Luckily, everything came up clear. I called Honda to tell them what Excelsior did, and I was told that I should be grateful because Honda would have charged $150-$200 to do what Excelsior did. I realize this is a long-winded review, but the work and service I've received from this shop has been exceptional. I will refer my friend's in SF to this shop anytime. read more

Fortunately for you, there is Excelsior.) I've been restoring and biodiesel-converting an old Mercedes 300TD wagon, and that thing has had problems that have stumped even the most avid Mercedes-heads. Vicky & Marwan and the rest of the team have been unbelievably helpful, patient, friendly, fast, and most of all, fair. If something ain't right, they make it right. I passed this place today on my way home. Way past due for a front wheel alignment I decided to call a few places to get quoted. Most responses were $80-$100, which I do not have since I am currently unemployed as a student! I wanted to find somewhere that would not jip me just because I'm a girl and I hardly know anything about cars though I am working on that so I won't get jipped! Anyways I remembered the name and came home to google their info. I called them and the price was in my range so I asked when I can make an appt. The woman who answered the phone was patient and nice, I was told to come in 30mins and drop it off. WoW! I loved that already since I hate being without my car, I came in handed them the key and she said be back at 2:30pm, uuum I looked at the clock it was 1:22pm!! They were serious! I called back around 2:37pm and came straight there!! I loved how they gave me tips on my car and I could tell they were not trying to get money out of me. Oh I minused one star since they quoted me a different price on the phone and was charged a good $10 more when I got there. I hate that shit! Overall good place! read more

I had my car towed here because it was near where my car broke down, and also had good Yelp reviews. The quality of service I experienced wasn't in line with the quality of Yelp reviews, hence why I'm writing this. It took them more than two weeks of guess-and-check "we think it's this part"; "we replaced that part, but it's still not working, now we think it's also this part" to determine it was actually a problem with the engine, and not with any of those previous parts. When I asked for an estimate on replacing the engine (yeah, it's expensive, but it's also a pain in the butt to buy a new car), I didn't hear from them for another four days, during which time I decided maybe it would in fact be easier to buy a new car, and arranged to have this car scrapped. When I showed up to sign over the title for the junkyard people, that estimate was not ready. I guess they gave up on it. That's my second problem with this place; communication was terrible. Every time I called, I'd get another "we think it's this part, but we're just about to start working on it, I'll call you back" and they Never. Called. Back. I would call every other day, and I started to feel like I was harassing them just to get information on my car, like an estimate of how long it would take to repair or literally what was wrong with it. This went on, again, for more than two weeks. Any mechanic will tell you that "guess and check" or "trial and error" is an inefficient way to diagnose a problem. And it was! Again, it took more than two weeks to determine there was a mechanical problem with the engine. I suspect even they lose money on this approach, because they only charged me at the end the $120 diagnostic fee, for what must have been at least 10 hours of guess-and-check work. It's frustrating to me, and it's a losing business strategy for them; why do it this way? I would also have hoped that they would actually call me back, or even be proactive about calling me, say, the day after my car was dropped off, to tell me what the process would be and about how long I could expect to be without the car. I also expected that when they said they would call me back "later that day" or "tomorrow", they would actually do that. read more

They only wanted to sell me 4 new tires a nd refused to even look at my flat Next I went to Excelsior. They removed my tire, couldn't find a leak, remounted the tire and refused to charge me a.nything bcs they couldn't find the leak. They told me to come back if it's still leaking. .
