I arrived early as he had suggested, and his warm welcome and assistance with where to park were greatly appreciated. Upon entering, I was courteously greeted by Assistant Manager Ronnie. I told them both that I had booked an online appointment for the same services last week at Wheel Works on Skyline Blvd. and shared my frustrating, disappointing experience when they didn't honor my 6 p.m. appointment, saying they don't even accept appointments at that time. Ronnie assured me that they honor their online appointments and that I had come to the right place, promising they'd take care of me. I told them I'd been a loyal Midas customer for over 30 years, back when they were on Alamany Blvd., across from the 76-gas station. They welcomed me back warmly and said that whatever I need, just bring it in my car and they'll handle it. That's the kind of 5-star customer service every customer wants to experience. Ronnie was right on time for my appointment and checked my oil, letting me know it was at 40% and didn't need to be changed yet. He assured me I was good to go for my trip, checked everything else, and even topped off my windshield wiper fluid--no charge--just an honest man with morals and integrity. At first glance, this place has averaged three and a half stars which I don't understand. I made an appointment to this place and I arrived early, got processed and in fact got in sooner than I anticipated. They had a special on oil changes of which I took advantage. The whole experience was very pleasant and trouble free and I can attribute that to a fellow named Tony who seemed to be the head honcho there. He was friendly and personable, he stewarded my Jeep through and I came outta there very pleased. I really can't say anything negative about the work they did. He took the time to explain the possible outcomes and thoroughly inspected the tire. After a reasonable wait, he called me back and informed me that the tire had been successfully repaired. It's worth noting that I had previously taken the same tire to a different shop about a mile away. They quickly told me I needed a new tire without doing a proper inspection. The 3 stars are for the front desk, Tony & Ronny, great customer service, very friendly Had an oil change appointment booked online at 1 pm today. Went there at 2.02 pm thinking it might be ready or almost. Unfortunately the mechanic didn't do the oil change yet, he's just walking back and forth looking at my car then check his phone, he looked tired Finally I saw him carrying a container maybe that's the oil and poured into the car at the front where the hood was open. I didn't think he took out the old oil, he just poured the new oil in. I was told my car 's ready at 2.45 pm. When I drove my car home, it didn't feel like the oil has been changed, it felt the same as before I took it there, you can tell the difference when the oil has been changed and cleaned! I brought in my car for oil change to midas today because i was doing it on my own some how I strip the drain plug I could not get it off and there is no leak i double check it and i always being careful when i am fixing my car that's why I brought it at midas they check the car they said they could do it and now when they are taking off the drain plug they call me the mechanic said i need to show you the oil pan and its leaking by the plug now probably when they are removing the drain plug it got worse because i heard a sound like someone using like a hammer now the mechanic telling me they can't do it might ruin the oil pan they think im that stupid that they keep pushing to remove the drain plug but they can't some how they pretending they did make it worse also yesterday when I brought my car in all i ask for service is to loosen the drain plug and i told the mechanic im wheeling to pay thats no problem he told me in order to remove it you going to need an oil change i said no i always do my own oil change thats why i said its ok ill find another shop and he gave me a price of $157. 87 incase ill have them do the oil change in order to remove the plug and replace the plug but i said its ok ill find another shop but some how all the shop that i checked they want me to comeback next week because the are fully book so i don't have a choice i came back to midas today and told the mechanic ok lets do it ill have that oil change on my car when he was printing the paperwork that i need to sign he gave me a different price of $187.87 not including the tax for the oil change thats why i ask him how come the quote yesterday that you gave me is cheaper than today its more expensive i did not even argue with him i just told him just Do it im already here and now they couldn't fix the problem because the oil plug is ruin and it leaks they said could not do it they might damage the oil pan I dont understand people anymore no more honest and admit that the drain plug got ruin worse i am not coming back to this place anymore even i previous bought 2 front tires from them and told the mechanic that i am having replace the 2 rear tire soon to them now thank god got i did not do it if anyone planning to bring in their vehicle to midas make sure you shop around before you come to this place read more

Needed a simple tire balance takes less than 30 minutes I called in the morning to see if they could take me right away. They said they could not so I scheduled an appointment for 3 o'clock because I have my child couldn't leave my car there and didn't have time to wait get there at 3 o'clock and they proceed to tell me that I have to wait 45 minutes before they can get my car into the shop. DO NOT TRUST the mechanics here! SCAM SCAM SCAM. I went just for a tire replacement but the mechanic tried to scam me for several made up damage with an overpriced charges. The damage the mechanic was talking about just got fixed a few days prior to my tire change appointment with them. When I left their shop, I heard a loud rumbling noise in the rear of my car. Getting around to posting this review as I was looking through my messages and saw that a text from an automated system asked for a review. Terrible service. The general manager seemed nice, but a mistake costed me an entire day and he decided after 5 hours to call me to say he messed up on ordering the part. I was going to get an AC replacement after he gave me quote. I was in town for a concert at the end of June and wanted this fixed as I hated driving in the heat. His quotes were all mixed up and told me it'd be easily over $2000. He had the audacity to tell me her can get it done tomorrow even after I had told him I was in town for the day and leave tomorrow. More so, I expressed that if he couldn't take the job on account of short notice the to say so; however, he wasted my time and chance to explore more of the bay. He also had the audacity to charge me a diagnostic after having wasted my time. I respectfully took my car and left while asking for a quote with the correct parts. Upon returning home, I got the repair almost half of the price and this included labor. I don't know where he was ordering the part but I managed to get it from my local Autozone for $400 compared to $1500. read more

UPDATE: After calling Mida customer support, they asked me to tell them about the issue and talk to the store manager before filing an official complaint. Talk to the manager (Melton) in charge, who was very understanding, so he honored the price I received from my internet quote (~$500). The job is very well done, and I am happy with the result I made a reservation for two tire changes. I picked my tires online and on the day of my appointment. They end up needing to have my tires despite my reservation. Instead, they gave me tires they currently have on hand, which are $60 extra. Is that supposed to be normal? My estimated and current bill is $165, which is about 33% of the total bill from the original estimate. I get that there would be some difference between the price of the estimate and the actual price. But 33% is unreasonable. read more

I had a great experience coming to this Midas. I went online and ordered tires first. Chung sent me a confirmation response by morning. We spoke on the phone and he assured me that I would be fine driving on a spare to get there. When I got there, we determined that I ordered the wrong size tires, but they didn't have 4 new tires in my size. He was quick to find a solution: get the 2 tires they did have in stock, so I could drive safely to work that day and then he'd order more and could come back whenever it was convenient and get the other 2 changed. When I returned, Milton helped me get those other 2. What I appreciated most was their excellent customer service. Between the both of them, they were patient, informed me of options that were available, without being pushy, and it felt like their only concern was to get me tires in my price range and get me back on the road quickly and safely. I have mixed reviews because I had one completely awesome experience with one worker and then a horrible experience with another worker. My tires were low and I went to the shop to have them help me. A man there was awesome and told me to pull my car up and he would fill them for me. Then as I was leaving, he asked me to leave slow so he could inspect the tire to make sure there was no nail. He didn't see a nail and told me if my light goes on again, to come back and he would do a more through inspection. I wish I got his name. A few weeks later, my tire light went back on and I went there because I had a great first experience. When I went back it was not so great. The guy at the counter was not pleasant and grumpy. Finally my car was ready. He said they found a nail in a tire (not the one that keeps losing air) and said he cannot fix it because my tires are at a "3" and I need new tires. I asked how that was possible when my car was barely 2 years old. He told me that new cars don't have the best tires and his mechanic is the best so he knows. Also, the nail in my tire that they found was not the tire that keeps leaking. Then he gives me a quote of $800 for new tires on my 2 year old car that has like 26k miles on it. I left with my car and got a second opinion at another shop. Guess what, my tires were fine and NOT a "3" and they were able to help me. I really wanted to give Midas a 0 star for taking advantage of a female and trying me make me buy new tires when I didn't need them, but, that one guy when I went there was so nice and helpful. Kings of the hard upsell. For example, they told me that the TPMS light on my dashboard meant that I was overdue for the tires to be rotated (a $40 service here that's usually free wherever you bought your tires.) Nope, according to Honda, it means that you have incorrect tire pressure or a problem with the pressure gauge; for example, it comes on if you add air to your tires without pushing the "recalibrate" button. Yeah, I guess it was convenient for them to casually add on a $39 charge to swap out my cabin air filter to an oil change. I guess. Or maybe they saw the little green-tree dash light that my car is in "Eco" mode and saw it as an opportunity to charge me for a service. read more

I went in for a break job and to have my headlight assemblies swapped out with some new ones I purchased from an online retailer. Eddie helped me out. He went far and above in providing me with great customer service. The rest of the crew was also very friendly. One thing to note, before going in, I called and asked for a ballpark price on the break job. It ended up being double what I was told on the phone. I didn't realize that front and back breaks are billed separately. So, I was a little shocked. About a couple months ago, my rear passenger tire blew out. The guy at the front desk was very helpful in trying to get my tire size and even offered to put it on for me if I could find one in stock at another shop- since my tire size was very specific and aftermarket, and they didn't have one at the time (they'd need to special order it).
