We had an exhaust system installed in oct of 2022 front to rear cats and all. The cats came apart 2 times and had to be towed. The cats were under warranty but labor wasn't. 660 bucks later they install new ones. Fast forward to less than 6 months later the tail pipe rust into and falls off. Take it in today they said muffler under warranty but tail pipe is not because a small hole in the bed let water drip on it. They wanted 375 bucks to replace. These guys are idiots do not stand behind their cheap metal they use and charge more than a dealer. If you care anything about your vehicle I would take it to Tire Discounters on Henderson Rd. They have a great honest mechanic and staff. Wish I had known about them sooner. read more

Took my deployed son's jeep to them as I live around the corner. Vehicle wasn't starting. I thought it was the alternator because the battery is new. I paid for them to check it out. No, the alternator tested fine, you need a new battery, they said. Battery was replaced. Soon after, wouldn't start. Took it to another place. Low and behold, it was the alternator that was bad. NOW it needs a new battery because the alternator that Midas said wasn't a problem completely drained the battery . Midas should replace the battery for free since they took my money and apparently didn't test anything. As conveniently close as they are... Never again will I go there! SCAM SCAM SCAM. We were served by Damien earlier this month (Oct 2023) and we were originally told not much was wrong with our car, just $2000ish worth of repairs, some preventative. I guess we were too quick to say sure let's just get it done because suddenly he came back and told us he was wrong, our vehicle was DANGEROUS and needed $8000 in repairs. He said we could bring it back tomorrow if we were on traveling a mile or so away, but that the whole vehicle could break apart any second causing great danger. Well, we called our car dealership (AMP -- great guys) and our dealer was like wtf are you talking about $8000, bring it in. So we say we will day after next(husband has an appointment to be checked for cancer...more stress! He's fine). We were freaked so we took it for a second opinion at Firestone down the road before taking it to the dealership the next day. The whole time in thinking "this car drives pretty damn good to be about to explode and kill us or whatever Damien said" He was much more honest, said that Midas was full of it about our break pads (one back pad was mildly worn and good for another few months at least, not the 4 Midas quoted as dire), transmission and sway bar ... The car doesn't even come with one! But Midas said ours was about to fall off? Lol. Damien also lied about our tie rods, nothing was mentioned by Firestone and we asked after the initial debriefing. He legit laughed. He said they took us for a ride at Midas. Quoted around $1500 to have it all fixed. So we're feeling a bit better but still take it to our dealer. They look at it, fix whatever they found that was reasonable (for FREE mind you, good dudes) and we're like okay. Cool. Still a bit apprehensive so we take it to Noebull (also awesome people) for an alignment as our dealer said they did something and it might need one (hardly did at all but we want everything just right) and they do that, replace our wipers, I think did an oil change and dye test to look for any leaks etc, it was like $2000 and our horn needed done as it didn't beep and we had that done as well. Honest, professional, and fair prices. I am really happy with the quality of work and customer service. Tim and the other mechanics saved the day. My Hyundai 63k miles had a major leak in the radiator hose. And was not safe to drive. I had my daughter with me and I had to get back to Dayton that day. I called several places, but wasn't able to get in anywhere until I called this Midas. But these radiator hoses had been on back order and would take a few days to acquire one. I moved from Fla and we were looking for a honest,reasonable, and professional place to take our vehicle and we found Midas on Henderson so we scheduled a oil change. No issues , they even gave me a decent discount ...I thought i found a honest, reasonable, and professional place. Move forward 8 months...I took my vehicle back in after they had done a oil change and told them I have oil dripping out the bottom after the oil change and would they take a look at it. Well, they came back with a bad oil filter housing (not sure of the exact jargon he used) and that it would cost $1700 !! After my last oil change they called and told me my cabin and engine air filters were "trashed" which was a complete lie because I just changed the cabin filter just 1 month prior, my engine filter was not bad either but after lying about my cabin filter I told them to not change out anything. So, after Damien told me $1700 I told him put my car down and I would take it to the Dealer because I want my vehicle fixed correctly (after not feeling comfortable with the last BS they were trying to pull on me) He replied " well, thats fine if you wanna pay double, that's your choice". I replied "absolutely, and I will if needed!" I surely wasn't letting these so called mechanics work on my vehicle! While pulling out of Midas parking lot my dash flashes "Hood Open" THESE CLOWNS CAN'T EVEN CLOSE A HOOD CORRECTLY!! Anyway, after taking my vehicle to another shop they tell me it's a Transmission seal issue and that it wasn't oil leaking, it was transmission fluid leaking!!! These backyard mechanics can't even tell the difference between oil and transmission fluid!! I have read a few reviews that say the customer was told the wrong diagnosis , these guys are a joke and need to be retrained on basic mechanics. I will never take any of my vehicle to this location ever and I will make sure I tell anyone that needs a good place get their vehicle serviced that they are inadaquate mechanics that just want to upcharge and fix what is not broken. I typically don't write bad reviews but I wish I had listened to the reviews that customers stated their vehicles were misdiagnosed. This location has been obviously slammed this week, but they worked with my two teens (who we are forcing to take responsibility for their car) to get new tires installed ASAP. The guys didn't take advantage of the kids and were fair in price. The car wasn't ready when anticipated. To "make it right" they offered to drive the car to my son's work when it was ready so he wouldn't have to walk back to the store after dark to pick it up. Disappointed. They used to provide a paper copy of the inspection report but apparently no longer do. When I paid, they said the inspection report would be emailed to me but mentioned no problems when I was checking out so I assumed all was well. When I got home, I saw the email with the "report". The new report has little detail (beyond ok, full, or see picture, although no pictures are actually included) but included a comment "brake system observed- full evaluation suggested". I would have loved to have seen or heard about that before leaving in order to get it addressed, if necessary. Additionally, the report said that the windshield washer fluid reservoir was full when in reality, it was completely empty and I had to purchase my own the next day. read more

Damien is the person to see when you go to Midas. They did muffler work for me prior to my latest visit. I was told by another garage that I had 5K miles left on my brakes when I took my car in for a tuneup and belt replacement. I was quoted 1295$ for each axle. I got down to 3k and figured I better get them done before it gets worse. But I wanted a second opinion so I'm off to Midas. Well after they looked at my brakes I got a call saying no need for front and we can do the back for less than half the price previously quoted by the garage I will never go back to again. I won't name them but they are located on Godown Road and have a winged foot logo. Damien and his awesome crew saved me a TON OF $ today and I will only go there from now on with all my car needs. This review is to elaborate a little on my previous review. Took in my 2018 Cadillac xt5 for a wheel alignment. Here's the way it went with Tim Sedergren. Quote We will test drive, we will rotate front tires.. test drive, we will do alignment if the tire rotation doesn't fix the problem.. test drive. Well they did rotate the front Wheels and that's all they did because the car still needs aligned. I've never heard of rotating the front tires to cure a alignment. Seems to me all he had to do was put it on the alignment machine from the get-go. . Well here I am three test drives later and still out of alignment and minus $96.74 which I am disputing. read more

Saturday late afternoon, I got in my car for the first time in a couple of days (thanks to the pandemic) and discovered that the splash shield was dragging on the road. I tried to hammer it into place or pull it off, but with the tools I had without being able to lift the car, I couldn't do it. It was a real problem because I had to drive someplace the next day, and I couldn't drive any distance with the car in that condition. I called the dealer, but they were about to close. I got on my phone and found the only shop that was still open was Midas on Henderson. I called and even though they were close to closing, they told me to bring it in. They were friendly and efficient and pulled the damaged splash shield off quickly. I maybe was there for a total of 20 minutes. And after all that, they didn't charge me for it! Took my car in on the 8th of March 2023 for a wheel alignment. Talk to service agent Tim Sedergren. He said they might be able to rotate the front tires and fix the problem. I said okay. This was 9:00 a.m. in the morning. Went back at noon. Tim said rotating the front tires did not cure the problem. So he said they rotated the tires back to the original position. Well I paid the bill. On the way home I realized it was still pulling to the right just like it did before I took it in. Also up on checking the wheels I discovered they did not rotate the tires back to the original position because the passenger side wheel had a small amount of curb rash it was now on the driver's side. So I was lied to right to my face. Tim said I could bring the car back. It was there 3 hours I don't think they even aligned the car at all. After being lied to I just didn't trust him to take it back in.It cost me $96.74 which I am in the process of disputing. Now I've got to take the car somewhere else to get it aligned. My car recently broke down, and I figured with the way it was acting and operating, that I needed a new alternator for my car. Upon inspection by Midas they were able to determine that I only needed a Alternator Belt and the Tension Pulley Replaced, and not an new Alternator. They even recharged my Drained Battery for free as they made the repairs. I thought I was going to have a much bigger bill total to replace the alternator, but with their assessment on the inspection check, I was very happy to hear that the bill would be much lower than expected! Your se team damaged the brake lines on my car and then made my daughter in law sign a waiver to remove the car from the service station. Who does that? My daughter-in-law took my car to Midas on Henderson Road with a nail in the tire. Five minutes after they pulled her car in and put it on her rack the brakes were leaking profusely. They claim it was doing that when she pulled in which cannot be the case. I talked to the manager he said the district manager was there and when it happened and was going to give me a call. What might just did was shake the brake lines until they broke which should be illegal, And then quoted her $800 to fix the brake lines also stating that she needed all new brakes which I had just replaced. This is the 2nd worst place that has ever worked on my truck! The first would be the Ziebart on Old Henderson road (it is now shut down). So, here is my story. I am a PhD student..and I travel with with my books and such. Usually, stores like this think that I am typical grad student that doesn't know much about auto maintenance. However, having grown up with a dad that works on cars, I picked up things over the years. Sadly, I don't have the space to work on my own truck here, so I often have to take it out to get serviced. I received ok service the first time I went to this store; I lived in the neighborhood and it was in walking distance. I found that they use cheaper parts...their brake pads and rotors wear out extremely quickly. (think the cheapest Autozone brand) I had them replace my brakes/rotors at a later date, only to have the rotors warp and groove in 11 months. If you go here, make sure you get your brakes checked by another Midas before the 1 year rotor warranty is up. Have them check the brakes, don't tell them that you bought the parts/labor from another Midas store. They will usually insist that you need new rotors...at which time you present your paperwork and have them covered under warranty. Luckily, I have never trusted this store. In 2008 I had an issue with the right rear wheel squealing. Unfortunately, I was 700 miles away from the Henderson store when it happened. I stopped in to a local Midas and they told me that the brake hardware was old and was rubbing on the rotor. Also, the right rear seemed to be grabbing slightly. I never authorize brake places to put old hardware back on my vehicles. While you can reuse hardware if it is good, I usually pay the extra 30 bucks so that I don't have to worry. The Henderson store threw on old hardware without telling me. I had to complain and throw a fit when I got back to get them to replace it for free. The Henderson store said that they put new hardware on and adjusted the brakes. 11 months later I start having shaking in the front of the truck...and you can tell the difference between unbalanced tires and bad rotors. I took the truck into a nice Midas in one of the nice areas of town...think Dublin, Powell and such. They had to replace the front rotors and brake pads, which were grooved and ruined. The rear rotors were grooved also. None of he rotors were within specs to be machined down. The right rear brake pad had twice the wear of the left rear, indicating that the Henderson store did not adjust the pads as they said. The Henderson store has a bad reputation among all of the other Midas stores in town. All of the Midas stores in Ohio are owned by the same people, but this store has a rotating staff and they never keep managers for long. I have never seen the same people in the store..and my paperwork can verify this. Also, the other stores might even tell you the same thing when they are honest enough. Overall, be vigilant with the this group and avoid Henderson. It may actually be worth going to a dealer as opposed to Midas despite the high costs. You will eventually pay for it if you do not keep on top of them. Luckily I got my truck in while the parts were warrantied (or at least most of the parts). You may not be so lucky. read more

When I moved to Ohio I was stuck having to find a service location I could trust. Moved from California where a local Meineke was great and very trustworthy. Came to this Midas because Red Cross gave me a oil change coupon for Midas and this location was my closest. Made an appointment for the next day without issue. Once I got there I was greeted by Brian (Assistant Manager). Super polite and oil change was done without issue. They were quick to let me know what services my high milage SUV would be needing in the future (nothing was needed at the time, but they made some suggestions regarding what to do later on for general maintenance). Was so impressed that when I left I made an appointment to bring my wife's SUV in for an oil change the next day. Again Brian was able to help. Got to meet Mark (main manager) who was also super nice. Again I had no issues and again they made some recommendations about some future maintenance. Since then I've had to come back only once for a water pump leak (needed replacement). Managers were willing to work with me on pricing so that everything they recommended could be done (there were a few things that NEEDED to be replaced and some that were just recommendations). All in all I feel very comfortable having my vehicles serviced here. The buy 6 oil changes get 1 free is nice also. Plus midas.com tends to always have coupons. Hated having to find a new vehicle maintenance location I felt comfortable with (as I know NOTHING about cars... plenty about computers though) and very happy I came across this place... thank you Red Cross for the oil change coupon that brought me here for the first time. This place has a few negative reviews, but those are all older. Current management is doing a wonderful job! I will be moving further away from this location shortly, but am still going to come back. The guy at the counter said it had to do with the tire rod (nothing else is mentioned), and one replacement and $400 later, the sound is still there. During the second visit, the guy suddenly finds 10+ more "problems" that were somehow glossed over the first time (I prefer to attribute this to incompetence, rather than trying to scam me). Two random guys came in and started talking to they guys that were suppose to work on the car. Instead of starting the oil change they took the time to have a full on conference. I have so much to say about this place! In August, I had an exhaust problem with my Civic. I am a 21 year old girl who doesn't know much about cars, so I'm always worried about getting ripped off- but not since I started going here. Randy took a look at my car and actually stood under the car with me to explain what was going on with it, pointing out the parts he was talking about. He explained everything thoroughly in a simple way- but wasn't condescending at all and didn't make me feel stupid, which is very important to me. When I came back the next time, my car needed a catalytic converter replacement. Ouch. But yet again, Randy made the experience completely painless. He assured me that I would be getting the best price possible and actually took 50% off of the labor charge- as a college student, knowing that someone is looking out for me like that means a whole lot. The whole team at this location is AMAZING and I probably won't take my car anywhere else unless absolutely necessary. I trust them completely because they take great care of both the car and the customer. They are transparent, honest, genuinely nice people who really care about what they're doing. I always go from one auto shop to the other because I haven't found my person that I can trust; however, I found him now! Tim at Midas was able to efficiently diagnose and resolve the issue for my car that other shops could not figure out (Midas was my visit #3). Tim really took his time to fully explain to me what was wrong with my car and really gave me the impression that he was not out for my money and genuinely wanted to solve my issue. Now a month later, my issue is completely resolved and my car has been running better than ever in a VERY long time! Now the only person I can trust my car to is Tim. These guys are liars! I took my car in for a simple oil change with a tire rotation. They told me I need to have all of my brakes and rotors and calipers replaced for $800.00. By the way, they did this 2 years ago when I went in for an oil change. 2 years ago, my buddy and I reaplced the back brakes because we heard something wrong. The oil change was literally 6 months later when they told me the brakes needed to be redone. So my 6 month old brakes needed to be replaced. This time, I obviously knew better so told them to put my car back together and not to touch anything. Well, my buddy and I got the brakes and rotors at Advanced Auto parts who apparantly sells some parts to Midas. So I took the car there because I was within the warranty period on the back brakes. They said they looked good, but because Midas was a client of theirs and recommended replacement, they would warranty the parts out. We replaced both the front and rear brakes yesterday and I took the parts back to Advanced to get reimbursed. They said there was literally nothing wrong with them as did my friend. He also suggested that their particular store has stopped doing business with Midas because of these practices. As a kicker, I did have Midas replace the fronts about 5 years ago (which I negotiated about $100 off the price they quoted) and when I went in for that first oil change they told me I needed all new brakes. I reminded them they had just done the fronts about a year ago and they said, oh yeah just the backs need to be replaced. This time they said the calipers needed to be replaced and when I questioned them they said they just needed to be cleaned. This place will lie, cheat, and take advantage of you at any opportunity. Also, note that when they guarantee brake pads for life, brake pads are $25....they do not give free service to put them on so you will still pay another $100 for the service fee and deal with all of the above telling you all th additional items you need. Seriously, if I could trust a mechanic, I would take my car to them every time and be willing to pay a little more. We need to start boycotting stores that have deceiptful business practices.
