I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Midas. I dropped my car off last Thursday for an alignment and oil change. The technician, Nick, sent over an inspection report stating I needed inner and outer tie rods, an alignment, and new tires. I explained that I only wanted the oil change and alignment. Nick strongly discouraged this and stated it was "pointless" to get an alignment without replacing the tie rods and tires. After feeling pressured, I agreed to replace the tie rods for $657. When I picked up my car, it was making a noise that had not been present prior to service. I immediately reported this, and Midas kept my car for an additional two days, stating they could not determine the cause. On Saturday, I was told by the lead technician that the noise was due to needing struts and coils, totaling approximately $1,200 -- an issue that was not identified in the original inspection report. I declined this repair. The technician, Nick, responded rudely and told me to come pick up the car. I then took my vehicle to another mechanic, who informed me that I did not need struts or tie rods, but rather a driver-side hub bearing replacement. I have also attempted to contact the regional manager, Jordan, multiple times and left voicemails but have received no response. This experience felt unprofessional, pressured, and dismissive. I am deeply disappointed in the service and lack of follow-up. I will not be returning and expect a response regarding this matter. I have a 2008 BMW and still bring it to the dealership for a few select repairs. However, I really like this Midas location for just about everything else. I brought my car in for an AC recharge and the work was done on the same day at a very reasonable price and with no gimmicks. Nick, the manager and the rest of the team are polite and friendly. Took my car in on July 9, 2025 to the Midas on Smith Road in Norwood Ohio. They did a full inspection and said I needed front rotors and pads, an AC recharge and an oil change. I went ahead with those repairs... When I got my car back, there was an obvious grinding/friction coming from the rear wheels that was not remotely present before taking the car in. So I took my car back in to the shop, after visibly beating on the rear brake with crowbars (which I realize must be done sometimes), they come back with an $800 quote to replace the rear drums brakes. Remember, upon their initial inspection, they told me the rear brakes looked fine. Also keep in mind, I was having zero issues with anything upon bringing my car in other than the a/c not blowing cold. To pay a company nearly $900 and get my car back in an un-drivable condition when all I initially wanted was an AC recharge is unacceptable. Clearly a mistake was made or something improper happened during the course of doing these repairs. No resolution offered, no explanation, no means of contacting a regional manager. I called corporate, which was a dead end. The manager at this location was a kind man, but lacked initiative and resolution... I realize often times managers in this position are not given the tools and resources to resolve issues like these, so I have nothing bad to say about him. But my overall experience, given the time, stress and money this has costed me is very upsetting. read more

My Daughter goes to this Midas and she told me to try it. When my check engine came on in the middle of a Saturday they were able to look at it later (diagnostic test because check engine light came on) in the day and let me know FIRST thing Monday morning. They were able to get my part in and my car was fixed by the end of the same day. I mentioned my daughter worked late and Trey came and picked me up to get my car so I didn't miss part of another work day abd mg daughter didn't have to leave work early to pick up my car. if I could give Midas a rating it would be 00000. My spouse went to Midas Erie Blvd Dewitt NY on 01/03/2022 because the brakes were squeaking. Because my souse is an elderly man and they saw him coming as a person they could take advantage of. They talked him into replacing all the brakes for a total of $1744.56. This was 01/03/2022. Now skip to 01/24/24 I felt the brakes felt soft. Midas looked at my car which I had to pay $25 for them to even check the bakes and quests what. They are telling me that my car now need work that will total $2,641.51. Midas is about noting But money, money. money, And they are out to take all your money. So don't say you were not warned. I brought my car in because my wipers weren't working and I needed an oil change. I had a good experience at Midas! Instead of writing a paragraph I wanted to write the pros and cons of my visit. Cons - I brought my car in on Monday and they let me know it would get done that day. Turns out, they needed to replace the wiper motor and it couldn't be done until Wednesday. Wednesday comes around and we find out it's an electrical problem so it wouldn't get done till Friday. So I had 4 days without my car which was no fun because that meant I had to find rides to work - I picked up my car after waiting 4 days to retrieve it. However, the oil sign was still on and for some reason the engine light turned it and it wasn't on before. This resulted in me waiting an additional 20 minutes on that Friday when they let me know it was already done. Pros - Derrick the manager was very responsive. He was very quick to keep me updated on what was going on and why it was taking forever. The only day I did not get an update was when he had a day off. He even knocked down the price a tad bit due to the inconvenience of the wait. Was I disappointed that it took longer than expected? Yes. However, being an understanding customer is important and I appreciated the responsiveness of the management. read more

If you're getting something other than an oil change and tire rotation, be sure that the price of parts isn't inflated to something ridiculous. I'd scheduled an oil change and got a great deal; full synthetic for $50. Two days before my appt, my check engine light came on. I went to auto store for them to use OBD II code reader. Turns out my car was showing P0134 (O2 sensor not detected). Since my O2 sensors had never been changed and it wasn't being detected by the car, I assumed I just needed a new sensor, and was right. For my vehicle, sensor at Autozone was $194. On Amazon it was $90. Midas priced me out at $480 for the sensor and $91 for labor. I asked if I could buy sensor and simply get it installed. However, that was not an option. Needless to say, I bought the sensor on Amazon and went somewhere else to get it installed. This is just a review to BEWARE of part price inflation at auto repair shops like Midas and similar. read more

I would not recommend coming here for an oil change. Normally it takes around 30 minutes to get an oil change but we were here for an hour and a half when we were the only customers in the store. I have never had an oil change take this long even when I have went some place to do extra work for me before. I really hate giving bad reviews but unfortunately this was not a good experience. Update: We ended up waiting 15 minutes after an hour and a half making our wait a total of 1hr and 45 minutes, which is not ideal. They were missing a filter apparently. I wish they would have just told us and explicitly state it would be more time to wait so they could get this filter so that way we were able to come back later. read more

I went here to get new tires. I needed all season tires because I'm moving to an area that those are needed. They wouldn't allow me to get them without giving a reason why I needed them. I told them what tires I wanted and they tried to convince me to get others. After telling them I will only get the one type of tire I researched, they had to special order them in, which is totally fine. I come in to get my tires and they ordered the wrong ones- the ones they initially tried to sell me. So I then have to wait again to get my tires. A few weeks later my tires were slashed. They again had to get new ones ordered, said they'd be in by a certain date, still didn't happen- and my job requires me to use my car so having them continually be incorrect about when things will be in hurt my income. After moving, I found out my car's ball joint was broken and I needed a new one. The entire garage of guys where I got the ball joint fixed said that Midas should have caught this, especially having seen my car twice and that they should at the very least do an alignment for free when I would soon return to Cincinnati. Nope! The manager, Derek, didn't even listen to me to hear I just wanted a free alignment, not a free ball joint. I had to reiterate it three times to him, and he then got an attitude saying that it's not their fault and the ball joint could have been broken after them, which was not the case based on what my car garage said. They have been completely unprofessional, rude, and disorganized throughout my entire experience with them. I would avoid this place at all costs in the future. read more

I purchased tires from a Midas in Kentucky and had recently purchased a house in Ohio. The Midas that I had always gone to was just a bit too far away from me to go there. This location is right down the street from my job. With the cold weather, I had constantly been refilling my tires with air and became suspicious when one of my rear tires always seemed extremely lower in air than the other three. After a quick inspection, I saw a nail in the tire. I looked at my purchase of the tires from Midas and saw that I had free lifetime repair along with the road side hazard warranty. So I called my Midas in KY and asked if I could go to any Midas - they said yes. So, off I went to this location down the street from my job. I had called ahead to verify that I didn't need an appointment. The gentleman that I spoke with told me that I could bring the car by without an appointment and get the tire repaired. I went during my lunch hour and was told that it would be about 10-15 minutes before my car could be pulled in due to all the lifts being taken at the time. After about 30 minutes or so, my car is finally pulled in. They begin looking at the tire and could not find the nail that I had seen the day before. Because it was so snowy/icy outside, they had sprayed something on my tire to help melt the ice for a better view. I was told that this would take 15 minutes or so. Another 30 minutes went by. At about this time, I was getting a bit frustrated due to the wait and being on my lunch hour (a bit hangry, if I must admit). After another 10-15 minutes, the manager came back and showed me the nail they pulled from my tire. They had repaired it and pulled my car out. There was no charge as it was part of the warranty that I had purchased. The manager and workers were very nice and we had even chit chatted during my wait, but the amount of time to repair a tire was a bit disappointing as I have had tire repairs take less than 20 minutes in the past through Michael Tire. I wish I could have had an appointment because I'm sure it would have been quicker. read more

Something was rattling every time I went over a bump so I brought it in. I've always been skeptical when it comes to mechanics so I was a little unsure about bringing it in. I called in when I was 5 minutes away to see if they had time. Derek the manager said he could get it in right away. Brought it over and James the technician test drove it right away. (On behalf of both my husband and I) Our car randomly gave out this past weekend. We waited til Monday (today) to call a car repair shop because our vehicle warranty place was closed on the weekends. I came across this Midas viaYelp, and they had pretty good reviews - we totally see why! My husband gave them a call this morning and spoke to Derek about getting our car evaluated and repaired. Derek said they were able to help us today and to go ahead and bring the car in. We had to get it towed there. When the car came to the shop, we were told we would be called with diagnosis confirmation and get the green light to proceed. Which was not very long of a wait. Derek and the team replaced our alternator, battery, battery cable, and control arm all within the same day. They also called our warranty place and got the qualified work paid for quickly! Staff was friendly upon arrival and the manager was prompt to answer questions and up-sale everything. After being told my car would be ready by noon, (dropped my car off at 8:40) a tech calls at 1:19 and states that during tire removal of my rear tires, the TPMS valve broke. They did call to notify me, however; why should I be responsible for the $17.00 part that they charge $69.99 for, when they are the ones for the error. A $90.00 visit turned into $232.00 If only you would take responsibility for your mistake, rather than charging your customer for it. I called Midas, and they went and got two of the tires I wanted and were $50 cheaper than any other place. They also didn't try to upsell me on services I didn't need. Place sucks. Just moved to the area and was looking for a new spot to get quick oil changes as I drive a lot for my career. I get oil changes every 6 weeks or so due to high mileage. I had an appointment for a simple oil change at 2pm, arrived 5 minutes early, and stated that was all I needed: no other services. Car was taken right in. I sat and watched as they lifted the car, drained the oil.. then nothing. They stood around talking and joking around while I waited an hour and ten minutes. For an oil change. Don't go here if that's all you're after. It doesn't take this long. As I waited today for a new tire, I watched how professional the manager was in dealing with a ignorant customer who was clueless on social distancing during COVID-19. Repeatedly the manager had to tell him in a polite assertive manner that he needed to stand behind the glass as he wanted to lean on the counter to the side of the glass on the phone, repeatedly the customer wanted to walkout in the service area when there was a big sign saying not to, and the customer demanded the manager talk to the caller on the phone who supplied the credit card for the payment of service as the manager had to point out the need for precautionary measures and social distancing, all while trying to be as efficient and professional as possible while a line was beginning to form. I had a simple tire replacement today, but will return because I am very impressed with the way the manager handled himself in a stressful situation and am disappointed in how some individuals are treating workers during these tough times. read more

Turns out the charge for parts was twice what OEM parts for a starter replacement should be. I've taken cars here multiple times a year for a decade. Never again.
