I do recommend this business. Volvoline botched an oil change and midas fixed it for me. They told me how to file a claim against Volvoline which I did and it was resolved without any complications. They also did a brake job for me in the past. I went in today because there were some clips missing from my splash guard. They fixed it on the spot and didn't charge me anything. If I could give them a 0 I would. I took my car in because the check engine light was on. They ran a diagnostics test which cost $100 and some change, and diagnosed the problem. It would be about $1100 to fix. With how the car market is right now I decided to make the repair. Wrong choice! Less than a week later the light came back on. I went back in to get it looked at and they tried to gas light me into thinking it was a new problem and they wanted an additional $1200 to fix it. They didn't fix the original problem! They are total scam artists and will take advantage of you. Do NOT take your business here. *** After speaking with customer service and talking to Jack, a senior director, I was able to get some reimbursement. Had a horrible experience here. I took in a flowmaster 40 series muffler which is a universal muffler first off, and once they got my car up and held the muffler to my old one and said it wouldnt be a problem, proceeded to cut my old muffler off. Well, once my old muffler was off, they come in and say this new muffler wont work because it doesnt line up... Okay, they checked this beforehand, why now that my muffler is cut off is it suddenly not going to work? Always come here for my safety inspections and going to start coming for my other car needs. A gentlemen always comes out to greet us. When I ask about getting work done, they are up front about whether they can service your car that day and invite you in to schedule a time. I noticed their oil change prices are lower than what I pay at another place, even after using a military discount of 25%. Right now there is a special for free wiper blades, so even more value. Last would say that I have heard the ads on the radio for their food drive and see the box for donations inside, but if my oil change can potentially help someone in need, then I am sold! read more

Total cost with tax was about $410 rounded to the nearest dollar. What a sham. I would recommend a car dealer at these prices. read more

IMPROPER INSPECTION AND QUESTIONABLE BUSINESS PRACTICES. Beware and think twice about going to this shop for anything! Vehicle was taken for inspection and failed for "left front sway bar link loose". But, no worries, they would be happy to "fix" it and replace both sway bar links for a few hundred dollars so it would pass inspection. I am a part-time mechanic and I had another knowledgable mechanic look at it. Both of us determined that the sway bar link and both ends are totally fine. Upon return to Midas to discuss with the manager on duty I immediately got an unprofessional and not-customer-friendly attitude, said he would show me. Lifted the car and grabbed the sway bar link with his hand and twisted one direction then the other; it moved only slightly in a rotational motion but both ends were snug/tight with no movement up or down or within either joint and both rubber bushings in perfect condition. Per the MO MVI Safety Inspection Regulations Manual [https://www.mshp.dps.missouri.gov/MSHPWeb/PatrolDivisions/MVI/documents/MVIRegulationsManual.pdf] this is how the inspection of this part is to be performed: "Inspect all steering linkage, pitman arm, stabilizer bar(s), connections, link(s), tie rods and adjusting sleeves for locked joints and looseness by working them up and down and back and forth by hand." That's right, working them UP AND DOWN AND BACK AND FORTH, NOT BY TWISTING. There is a ball joint in each of the sway bar link ends that is designed to move exactly the way the "mechanic" moved it, but absolutely no up and down or back and forth movement whatsoever. Further, the MO MVI Safety Inspection Regulations Manual states the following as rejection criteria: * "Excessive vertical (up and down) or lateral (side) movement is evident in any of the steering linkage sockets, tapered studs are loose in their mounting holes, any movable joints are locked, any adjusting sleeves are loose, or any joints are not secured with cotter pins or other devices" * "A control arm or radius arm is badly bent or broken, or if a pivot shaft or a pivot shaft mounting or any control arm, radius arm, pivot shaft bushing is badly worn or missing" * "Stabilizer bar(s), links, connections are badly worn, missing, loose or broken." NONE OF THESE CONDITIONS EXIST. When I disagreed with their inspection the manager didn't offer to refund the inspection fee they kept as good customer relations but instead told me I could file a complaint with the MO State Highway Patrol. That's what I have done and when they reinspect the vehicle they will confirm. BTW, this same shop tried something similar with my on another vehicle when I brought it in for something else entirely and they took it upon themselves to inspect the front suspension and then tried to tell me my front stabilizer arm bushings were bad, "proving" this to me by putting a long crowbar in between the arm end and the mount to use it as a lever to show me the movement in the arm end/bushing. Of course, they would be happy to "fix" this for me for several hundred dollars, which they were so graciously willing to finance for me. This shop and the "mechanics" who work there are either incompetent or dishonest, or both. I'll let the MO State Highway Patrol Inspector be the judge. read more

Repair took forever. Tech was outrageous quotes for other repairs and tires. When I finally turned down the quotes the car was suddenly ready. Spent 3 hours on a quick repair. Took car to another mechanic regarding what they said was wrong and the cost. New mechanic found nothing wrong. Stated the price charged and quotes were horribly overpriced. Only reason I took my vehicle here was because it was the closest repair shop. Never again. read more

I stopped in on a Saturday because all the other options were booked out for the day. To my surprise they were able to get me right in . I'm guessing there was a reason they were super slow on a Saturday. I decided to get an oil change and have my tires rotated and balanced. Before they started the work they informed me I would need an alignment and to do the alignment I would need a few other parts replaced first, totaling $700. And wouldn't you know they could complete the work before they closed which was about 2 hours away. That was my first red flag considering the parts needed for the work totaled about $60. $300 per hour for labor??Wow I'm in the wrong profession. I declined the service and took my vehicle to my trusted mechanic Monday morning. To my surprise my mechanic was able to complete the alignment with out replacing any parts. They wanted $700, my mechanic charged me $70. Buyer beware!!! read more

The manager/owner (not sure, but she's always there) Katherine is so great to work with. She's extremely knowledgable, very personable, and makes time to take care of all my concerns.
