Wonderful customer service!! Had a flat tire at 5:45. They stayed open late just to fix it for me. Very friendly, did a great job.

Used Midas to fix my front axle in my truck. I went with Midas because they were close and I needed an emergency repair. They did well on the repair, a very sound job. Pricing was very high and the repair took a few days more than expected but they kept me updated and were nice to work with. read more

Went in for an oil change. I've been going in for the past 5 years and have worked with only friendly, helpful, insightful people who even when they are swamped they aren't jerks. I've appreciated the respect that the General Manager has shown me as a customer, and the honesty of their reviews and recommendations. After my car suddenly stopped only 200 yards from the Midas shop the night before, I had it towed there because of its proximity. The next morning, I was informed that the timing belt was broken on my 99 Ford Escort ZX2. The worker said it was irreparable and would need a new engine. After the initial panic had subsided, he told me he knew someone that could drop a new engine in for $2000. I was heartbroken. Never had a problem with the vehicle. After calling a mechanic from my home town and 2 Ford dealerships, I found out that my vehicle is a NON-INTERFERENCE engine. I called Midas and the gentleman handling the call assured me in a very apathetic voice that "we do our research, it's an interference engine" and that it would cost about 800 DOLLARS to repair. I told him I would call him back. After finding a mechanic in a nearby town, I went to retrieve from Midas the vehicle for towing. At this time, two gentlemen came into the room. One looked like the manager and the other a mechanic. The mechanic leaned up against the counter while I was being rung up and stared at me. He then asked me what I was going to do with it. After replying I was going to take it to another mechanic he smugly said, "Oh, just going to see if you can put a new belt on it?" I said " something like that. After having it towed, the job was done for $200. A $600 difference. Don't waste your time with these scam artists. read more

Was having major brake issues on a trip down to Indianapolis and the folks at Midas were able to fit me in right away. The car needed major brake work and they were able to take care of it by the time they closed even though they mentioned it might need two days to repair! Thank you guys! read more

This place is absolutely awful. My girlfriend took her car in due to her brakes being locked up. They noted that they would do a brake inspection for $19.99. What they mean by this is they will take the tires off of your car and then tell you that the brake caliper is stuck shut. This will then lead to them telling you that you need over $1000 worth of work done to replace the entire front brake system. After hearing how much this was going to cost I went into Midas myself to figure out what was happening. When asking them what exactly they did to diagnose the brake system it turns out that they did nothing. They did not remove the caliper from the rotor and test it to see if it was stuck, they did not open the brake hose bleeder to determine if it was the hose instead of the caliper. All they were interested in doing was up-selling us as much as possible. They also noted that "this is a lot of work so we will need to keep the car until tomorrow." It honestly felt like they were taking advantage of a female who probably didn't know much about cars and would simply sign the check and give them $1000. I ended up doing the work myself; it took less than 2 hours to do and it cost $120 in parts to fix the problem. The fact that I paid $20 for them to do a "brake inspection" that was simply them removing the tires is simply absurd. For $1000 you could purchase all the tools and parts to do this job by yourself. read more

A wood screw punctured our tire two hours before I needed to take the kids to their sport competition. Midas was able to fit us in by rearranging the schedule, and fixed it very quickly. read more

Two months ago I took my car into Midas to have the tires aligned, and I thought all was well. But last week I started noticing a loud thumping noise coming from the front left tire that sounded like a washing machine cycling, so I took it into Flextune to see if they could diagnose the problem. It turns out that the lugnuts were so loose the mechanic could literally twist them off with his hand, and if I had driven the car for much longer the tires would have fallen right off. I can't even express how angry I am at Midas for allowing such a shoddy job onto the roads. Not only was it dangerous for me, but it was dangerous for everyone I was sharing roads with as well. I will never be returning to Midas as a customer, and would strongly suggest that Bloomington residents look elsewhere. read more

On Friday afternoon at about 4pm, I had a funny noise emanating from my right rear wheel. I called Midas and spoke to a team member who graciously offered to check it out despite it being the end of the day right before the holiday weekend. When I took the car over, Mike, presumably a manager, and Wayne, a technician, helped me quickly. They diagnosed the problem within 15 minutes and had me on my way. I sincerely appreciate their generosity, expertise and professionalism. read more

Awesome customer service! Went to Firestone first to find out the problem. They wanted to charge $43 plus labor and Midas came out and said exactly what was wrong with it and how to fix it with pliers for free. Will be back! read more

I am a longtime fan of this Midas, for oil changes and general maintenance as well as brakes, which they supplied on my previous car, though not yet on the current one. Friendly managers are not at all condescending to drivers like me who tend to pay little attention to the car as long as it gets me where I need to go. I like all the maintenance info you get with an oil change, and the advance notice for upcoming large expenses likes tires. (No, I don't buy my tires at Midas.) Thumbs up from me. read more

Avoid at all costs. I took my car in to have a noise investigated, they told me I needed expensive, immediate repairs. They even showed me a broken spring from "my" car. I took the car elsewhere for a second opinion (and had them recheck the car after they said the spring was indeed not broken), and was told this shop is notorious for over-diagnosing. Save yourself hundreds of dollars and go somewhere else. read more
