I scheduled an appointment at 10 am on 2/29/24. I dropped my car off and was told it would be ready by 3 pm. I contacted the shop 1115am because I received information that my car wouldn't pass inspection unless I got my brakes done. Which the quote for my brakes on 2/28/24 was $580.00. On 2/29/24 after inspection the new total was $980.00. She stated if I didn't do it they wouldn't pass my inspection. The price is now $450.00 more than what I was quoted. If you look at the photos the new cost is coming from labor, mind you it's 1115am and no one person has touched my brakes yet. I asked what time they would be done she said 230 pm to 3 pm. So I show back up to this shop at 245 pm only to be told they haven't even started my car at all. They stated they were behind and to come back by 530pm it would be ready. So now it's a rush job to get done before they close. I get a call about 455 pm saying my car is ready for pickup. So I asked how many hours for labor was I charge he said he gave me credit so roughly an hr and a half. As you can see in the photos the hours are showing 9 am to 11 am, nowhere showing the true times my car was worked on. On top of that I drive and hear a loud squeaking noise when I go to brake. So I call and let them know about the sound, she stated we're not doing brakes on the weekend. I asked to come back on my off day on Wednesday, she scheduled me for 8 am. I am here now 3/6/24 and she come and tells me they don't hear anything squeaking. So the man comes back after the second drive, she says he still doesn't hear anything but my transmission is messed. So now I'm like what in the heck is going on. She tells me to wait for it to cool down and the he can drive with me. I was like it's my off day now I'm about to be here all day again. I asked could I take it to another Midas she said no the 3 year warranty is with us. So I was over it, I go to leave she was like give it 2 or 3 weeks are if you still hear it come back. I'm like it doesn't matter if I hear it you guys don't so I'm the crazy person that hears squeaking. So I could only post this because I won't get any help there. Listen to my driving videos. Had never used Midas before. Decided to test the waters by scheduling an oil change and tire rotation. With the $29.99 coupon (taxes and fees included plus a thorough vehicle inspection including report), I got this done for under $35. The reason I didn't go to Firestone as usual was because their pricing was not as reasonable when I checked. When requesting an appointment online, I got exactly the day and time slot I needed to fit my schedule, and the shop got me in and out in under 45 minutes. The best thing about the service however, is that the owner is Lisa and the front desk staff member was Lexie. Lisa assured me her lead tech had been with her for five years. The shop was clean, orderly and nicely maintained, further inspiring confidence. The service personnel in the bay were efficient, considerate and polite. An exceptional experience in every respect. I loathe taking my car to a mechanic, but I was in desperate need of an oil change. In the last week I have had TWO appointments at two different NTB locations and neither appointment was honored. I had never been to Midas, but this one is really close to my work and they were running a special on synthetic oil changes. I requested an appointment online. Soon after, someone called me and gave me their availability. I walked in at the designated time, and was welcomed by name. They immediately took my car back and in under 45 minutes, my oil change was completed and tires rotated. I was sent a text with a link to any recommended services and I was on my way. My experience here was fast and friendly. I will come here again. I didn't notice this until the next day, but they fixed the time on my radio. Every time I think about it it is while I am driving and you can not use the function to change it. It was very thoughtful. read more

I wanted to try out Midas for their $29.99 oil change offer and because Valvoline was getting out of hand pricey. I will definitely be going back again and referring them to my friends and family. I was greeted, welcomed, and offered many things to entertain me while I waited. It took less than 45 minutes for them to do the oil change, rotate my tires, and inspect the brakes. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They did not try to sell me anything I didn't need. read more

Starting 6/6/22 I had invested in my brake system as I was approaching 90k miles. I did the multi-point check and had this location do all the work as suggested. After some time, brakes still squeaking, I take it in for a warranty and still the issues persist. March of 2023 (9 months of squeaking break) they do another warranty replacement. However, at that time it only took them 1.5hours when they said it'd take 4-5 hours (red flag). Still the squeaking persists. June 2023 I finally find time to get the car checked back out, and call Clint around 1130am on the 27th (over a year later). He says they're too busy and I should come back Wednesday. I said, I can't, we're going out of town. Crickets, he couldn't care less. So I called the NRH location. Sebastian didn't hesitate "come on up, we'll get it figured out". He was eager to see me, facilities were clean, and the tech pointed out exactly where the Pioneer location came up short. Apparently they failed to get it right on multiple occasions and their failures were easy to spot. I do trust the NRH guys much more based on his detailed and thorough explanation. Not to mention my brakes haven't squeaked once since I visited the NRH location, and yes Clint, it's still parked outside in the elements. Somehow the rust and corrosion isn't an issue anymore, but maybe the weather in Arlington is way different then NRH. Crazy right?!? That said, the folks at pioneer were polite, relatively responsive, and the facilities are fine. But, at the end of the day, the reason I was there was vehicle repairs. You failed miserably at that. read more

Lisa and her staff are awesome. They were kind enough to help me with a skid plate falling off my car. I then went back for oil change, free tire rotation and a new battery. After moving to Texas from Illinois, we had a hard time finding a reliable and honest mechanic. I thought we actually found one in this Midas location, but we are done with them after the most recent experience. Back in January of 2022, I had my brakes done (all around). I brought the vehicle in after the previous place that replaced my brakes did such a horrible job that it caused my wheels to almost screech every time I started driving it AS WELL AS a rattling sound in one of the tires. Midas fixed the rattling sound when they replaced the brakes again, but the screeching has never gone away. They tried to say it was because of rust underneath the vehicle, but this is a five year old vehicle that should not be having any rust issues. When I went in July 2022 for a routine oil change, they tried to tell me I needed brakes again and tried to upsell a bunch of other stuff they had just replaced six months earlier. When I questioned their suggested repairs, the lady at the front (who has always been very helpful) went and talked to the mechanics and came back saying I didn't need new brakes or any of the other items. I already knew this was the case as I barely drive due to my working from home, and the rest was just a way to get extra money. As I was leaving, one of the mechanics came out and apologized and told me if I have any issues to talk to him directly - he was not the owner, but he obviously knew they were being shady. Most recently, my husband went in for an oil change. He called ahead of time for the price (since everything keeps going up everywhere), and they basically lied to him. He asked for a full synthetic oil change, and they said it would be $79.99. He had a $20 off coupon which they honored, but they never mentioned the add-on costs, i.e., $5 "shop charge." I realize it's only $5, but it's totally false advertising when you give a price and then add on extra charges that are not disclosed until the time of payment. This is the last time either of us will use this location. Be honest, people!!! read more

I have used this service repair shop twice for two different vehicles. A 1971 Ford F100 and a 2008 model Porsche Turbo. They did an excellent job and the communications with Clint were excellent. The owner is a woman and she knows cars better than any man I know. She also gave me a great deal on Pirelli tires for the Porsche. Highly recommend. read more

At the request of the Midas Customer Response Team, I reached out at the web address provided to elaborate on my experience at Midas. To date, over five months later, I have yet to hear from the Customer Response Team. This lack of response reinforces the fact that you should avoid doing business with Midas. They are a scam. And, by the way, the initial response from Midas which states, "we are sorry you feel this way and we would like to apologize...", is in no way an apology, but rather an attempt to shift the blame back on the customer. LADIES, go here! First off the shop is owned by a women and as a single lady not knowing anything about cars, it just made me fee less apprehensive having the front staff mostly women and a women manager walking around. Fast and friendly, been here twice now. ASK FOR CLINT! He could have lied and told me anything to make a buck BUT it was a simple fix all it took was his time and knowledge. For quite awhile, I had loved the service I received from the Midas on Abram St. When they closed and my wife's car needed brakes, it was a no brainer to come here. I had usually paid about $200 for brakes and expected about the same. They provided no quote or warning. When done, I was presented a bill for $700. I have been going to this location for oil changes and other devices for at least a couple years. Recently while out on vacation my oil change light came on I went to a midas where I vacationed. They found the smashed air filter in my car that this midas recently put in on 3/3/18. I think they said it was an incorrect size. This was something relatively small but nonetheless concerning because I've definitely had more extensive work done by them that may or may not have been done correctly. FANTASTIC SERVICE!!! Rich took wonderful care of me! Raul took wonderful care of my 4Runner! My emergency brake, ABS, & Trac lights would flash intermittently & I was feeling a vibration when braking Raul went through EVERY SENSOR to find my hydrolic line had a terrible leak, leading to brake fluid all over rotors/brake pads, warping the rotors (hence the vibration). My brake fluid had less than a 1/4 quart left! Raul spent quite literally HOURS flushing the hydrolic line to ensure it was perfectly clear of debris and crud suck in from the leak. Additionally Rich called the Carrollton Midas which replaced my brakes in May and ensured the new rotors & pads were both replaced under warranty. Rich was very patient with all my questions & answered them in depth very intelligibly for a non-automotive mind. 1st i Need to Thank PATRICK and ROBERT the Manager and Asst. Manager!!! They got my car in and out as fast as they could. I got my breaks done in @ 11227 Culebra Rd San Antonio tx, 78253. My breaks were grinding, so they needed to be done! The next morning I took off to El Paso they started making noise and felt weird. So I called the SA location and they said to take it back to them I told them I was in El Paso so they said take to one in El Paso. So I took it to 1192 N. Yarborough El. Paso, tx 79925 this location told me nothing was wrong with my break's!!! So I left and headed to Dumas, tx. The breaks still felt off and was still making an unsettling noise. So I drove back to El Paso, tx to This location...4168 N. Mesa El. paso, tx 79902 and they said they have to replace breaks and redo rotors that they were bad. I never imagined that I would take my vehicle to a national chain like Midas for repairs, but after my first encounter with them after buying a new car and needing an oil change, I knew my car had found a new ER when needed. The gentleman at the front desk is always kind and confident. He asks what services you would like and if you have any concerns. They provide the service and if any other services are needed they explain them, but ALSO explain realistically if it is an immediate need. Very trustworthy. If you have read my recent post about Latino's Tire Shop you will get some background about my most recent experience that brought me back to Midas to have some issues remedied. Unlike Latino's Tire Shop, Midas was honest and did not ask me to spend money on unnecessary repairs. Great staff, clean shop, never pushy, always affordable and informative. A++. read more

The manager and service team is dedicated to working with their customers and using honesty. They think out of the box and go out of their way to help all their customers. If there's a problem, they do their best to fix it. I have been through several mechanics, only later to find out they either don't back their work, over charge, cut corners, identify problems that don't exist, etc. This Midas location has helped me in every instance for mitigating the problems of other servicers. They do good work with my Honda. I highly recommend them. read more

Took my Honda in to get the breaks checked out. They were pretty busy on Saturday morning and we were there early. Fortunately we were able to just leave our car so they could check it out. Lisa called us to let us know what was wrong and what needed fixed. She wasn't pushy, she gave the facts and was confident. We only had partial of the services done as we aren't financially ready to commit to the other services (and they weren't required as of yet). The car was finished earlier than expected when we went by to check--the young man at the counter must be new to that position and was having to ask questions to the manager (Lisa) on how to do certain things for the check out. He was really nice--but not as confident as Lisa. We paid less than we were anticipating and was able to use a coupon too! (I LOVE coupons!) Overall, if we have future issues, we will keep this Midas as an option. They were nice and seemed to be honest with their work...they also did not force additional work on us. Just some additional notes: The waiting room was packed all day (Saturday). They do have coffee while you wait (Keruig) and some donuts while they last. Every single time I come into Midas I receive excellent service. They take the time to walk you through any issues that your car may be having following a thorough diagnostic test without all the obscure jargon. The customer service here is unbeatable. I've been bringing my Jetta and other vehicles here for the a few years now. Simon, Phil, the manager and all of the other staff members I've interacted with are friendly and professional. They really do treat you like family. I even had one of the employees offer me a ride back to my house since there would be an extended wait on my vehicle. The service is usually fairly fast and they'll have you in and out in a timely manner. However, I try to avoid coming in on Saturdays bc they're usually quite busy. Additionally, they are also very cognizant of your time and always inform me if the job will take more time than anticipated that way I can plan my schedule accordingly. read more

I have taken my car to this Midas a few times for an oil change, and an oil leak. In both scenarios there was more wrong with my car when I left then when I brought it in. What I can say is the manager fixed the problems when they were brought to his attention and it is nice they are open Saturdays. These are the two reasons I have been here multiple times. Recently I took my car in for a standard oil change. I picked the car up and started driving home. I noticed the check engine light came on and there was another error code flashing. I took it back and turns out they didn't attach the air hose..which is frustrating. In the past I brought my car in for an oil leak. I noticed after getting it fixed it was still dripping oil. So I took it back and turns out they pinched the gasket. The manager is very friendly and helpful and will fix any mistakes he finds, I just had too many errors to go back. read more

I know these oil change places do such low prices on oil changes bc they are trying to up sell more expensive repairs but it just stresses me out. Cheap and quick so I would go again. These guys are very friendly and no pressure. The work was done quickly and without drama. They gave me a report card on some things that I should be paying attention to with my high mileage Expedition. I'm approaching 200k and other places will tell me I need to flush every fluid in the vehicle (even some that were just done).
