Went in and got an oil change and state inspection, left with an oil change, a passed inspection, and some big gashes on my front passenger rim. I watched it happen as well, the person driving backed out and went to park it next to the storefront curb, and rolled the 90-degree edge causing the damage. The worst part of it is the manager who also saw it happen tried to play it off and cover for his employee's butt and then tried to make me feel better by complimenting my car. I didn't even get so much as an apology from the manager or the employee who caused the damage. read more

I went in to have the brakes checked on my daughters car. They were extremely friendly, informative and honest. They showed me exactly what was wrong and only the repairs that needed to be done. I needed 4 new brake pads and rotors in the back. They told me I didn't need to do anything with the front rotors right now but at some point I may have to address them because they were starting to wear. They even told me they didn't want to machine them because it could make them start to warp with the condition they were in. I ended up replacing all 4 rotors for peace of mind but I really appreciated the honesty! I also had them do an oil change, rotate the tires and do the state inspection. One stop shop! I have used Midas since 2003 in Nebraska, and they have always been top notch. Since we moved to Allen, both my daughter and I have had unacceptable results with this Midas. The Manager is very nice, and professional. He said sorry, corporate rules won't allow that. His shop manager sold my Young Daughter 4 tires and talked her into an alignment. In a little over 10,000 miles, the tires on the front were bald. I took the car in to have them replace the tires, and they wouldn't give me a credit since the tires went bad due to alignment failing. Even though they did the alignment, they told me straight to my face that they could not issue a credit. Today, I took my car in to have the brake pads replaced. They have been replaced by Midas since I owned the car. They refused to honor the warranty and said they could replace my brakes for $109 labor, but that they would no longer warranty the pads unless I bought new rotors. So I said if you wont warranty my pads, can I have the replacement pads and I will have my mechanic put them on. To which they politely said NO. I've totally lost faith in the band that I used to believe in. read more

I'll admit I have never trusted mechanics very much. I looked at all the previous reviews before I took my vehicle to Midas. I asked them to check my brakes to see if they needed replacement and I was sure they did. After they inspected them they told me they did not need to be replaced yet very honest. While I was there I had them do some other services to my vehicle and I'm very satisfied with their service and will definitely be back when my brakes are ready to be changed. Alex is the owner and he is refreshingly honest. When I asked for a transmission flush he recommended a less expensive transmission drain and refill instead. He could have easily said nothing and charged me for the flush. I ended up getting my rotors turned, my alignment corrected, the transmission fluids changed, tires rotated , and checked all the belts for wear. A great experience. The waiting area is very clean and comfortable. Complimentary coffee, water and a very clean family size restroom. I didn't feel like I was being hustled or being offered services my car didn't need. I will be back in a few thousand miles for my oil change. They are equipped to fix almost anything on a vehicle. Excellent experience! read more

My car had been making a loud noise for a few months now, which progressively had gotten worse. I decided to take my car to Midas, after a recommendation from a friend and reading reviews. I was told that my power steering pump was worn and it was causing air to get in. The guy in the front recommended that I get it replaced, either now or after the pump breaks. I decided I might as well go ahead and get it replaced. They gave me an estimate and ordered the pump. The next day I dropped my car off and within a few hours, which I had expected, they replaced my power steering pump. My car is now noise free and the steering wheel feels a whole lot better. Midas in Allen is great. I've been taking my old car there ever since they opened a few years ago. The owner, Alex is a very nice guy who is very honest and knowledgeable about what your car needs. Doesn't BS you with anything. I never have to wait a long time to get my car fixed. If I am getting a major repair done, one of his 2 sons(Sheldon and Sam) drive me home and pick me back up so that I don't have to wait in the lobby for my car to get repaired. I don't know of any mechanic shops that offer to do that. Alex, Sheldon, Sam, Kenny and Erik are all good guys who are very knowledgeable about cars. Great customer service and great overall service. I have been a repeat customer here since the day they opened. On Oct. 21st I stopped in to have a tire fixed that was going down in a hurry and had no way of changing it. I went inside at 5:10pm to ask if they could fix it and the response that I got was no we don't have time. I said please it is going flat fast and I have no way of changing it. He replied once again no. I want them to know they just lost a lifetime customer over a very simple job that probably cost 20 bucks. This is rule #1 of what NOT to do in the customer service field. I am in the customer service field and if any of my employees ever did this to any of our customers new or repeat they would be fired the next day. This is unacceptable in so many ways. I have contacted Midas Corporate and I am on a mission to put out as many reviews on social media avenues as I can find. Let the truth be told this was so wrong on so many levels. read more

Honest, Fair, and done right- 2005 Lincoln Aviator with Check Engine Light on- 2 other repair shops said I needed to have the Catalytic Converters replaced for $1400- Midas Allen replaced an exhaust sensor for $178- Problem solved and passed inspection- will definitely be back with future repairs needed read more

Honestly this was pathetic I was having some exhaust work done and the manger on duty gave me a set price and I asked on several occasions if we were on the same page about what we were doing and they still managed to drop the ball and now they want to charge me and extra $150 to fix their own mistake!!! Great customer service still exists! I have a modified van with a wheelchair ramp for my daughter. It was making a "weird" noise... Not always the easiest thing to diagnose, especially since I had trouble describing the sound and it didn't do it all the time! I was told by the modification company that it needed a muffler, but Alex and the guys at Midas took the time to make sure that was really the problem. They called while they were assessing the issue to ask questions to make sure we were talking about the same noise. They were friendly, helpful and fixed it quickly. I will use them again. read more
