I initially had a positive experience at this location. When I needed a new alternator, the team was friendly, helpful, and got our van in quickly for repairs, which I really appreciated. However, my disappointment began about six months later when the alternator failed unexpectedly. This location advertises a "limited lifetime warranty" on some parts. In the case of an alternator that would be 12 months, but when I contacted them about the faulty alternator, I was told there was nothing they could do because we had since moved. This left me with no support and forced to pay for another new alternator out-of-pocket. Alternators should last much longer than six months, so I was shocked they wouldn't stand behind their warranty or make any effort to help with the additional costs. I felt let down by their lack of accountability. If they're using parts that don't hold up, they should either reconsider their suppliers or at least honor their warranty terms more consistently, even in situations like mine. Because of this experience, I can't recommend this location, and if you're considering them, you might be better off looking elsewhere for a mechanic who truly stands behind their work and warranties. At the very least, they should have honored their one-year warranty as promised. read more

I also got my inspections done to get new plates since we moved to Texas. We then when I went to swap plates a bolt broke off so I came back. I came in to get my break pads replaced. $178 including labor, not including tax. I have had bad experiences with Kwik Kar because they take advantage of customers. I am glad I found this Midas location. The great reviews don't lie. They don't try to sell me anything that's not needed. Both employees that spoke to me took the time to explain the job to me. They even told me that I still had some time for my break pads which I appreciated. A lot of places would have not been honest. Expect to have to go back at least 3-4 times before they actually fix the problem. I asked them to look at my overheating issue and they say they tested it and it isn't anymore. But I drive 5 miles and it's in the red. Very obvious they didnt actually drive it anywhere and just let it idle in the shop. EVERYONE in this shop is awesome. Let me tell you my experience. I dropped my car off at a different shop (CB), only for them to call me at 4pm that they couldn't look at it. I lost the whole day without my car, paid uber trips for them not to have the time. I picked the car up and drove by the Midas and asked them if they could take a quick look, knowing that it was past 5pm I wasn't expecting them to take a look. Alex, the owner drove the car to the ramp and looked at it and identified the issue quickly. Next day I dropped the car off and they had it ready by 3pm. Did not feel pressure into buying anything and Alex was honest since the beginning about the issue and prices. It's hard to find honest mechanics nowadays but this shop deserves all props. They dont warranty work if you have your parts and will try to charge you more in store. I called and got a quote on the repair before i came in the location. They gave me one price over the phone. When i came in they tried to charge me $50 more. I advised that i called the prior week and they did hold to it but why raise the price? Then not even a week passed and the car broke down. They said i would have to pay the total labor costs again. I advised them it was not even a week later and they said because it was a customer supplied part that they would have to charge another set of labor costs. When i called the week prior they stated it would be warrantied but it was not when the stuff hit the fan. So i am getting reimbursed from the parts store but they are crooks at this midas. Corporate has been contacted and leaving my experience for others to be warned. Also they said it was $700 for alternator replacement. Crooks. Will never ever deal with Midas again. read more

I went in to get a state inspection, and they had me in and out in no time. Once I gave them my info and insurance, it took 10 minutes at the most for them to complete it. The waiting room was comfortable, had self-serve coffee, and wifi. Since I left work to get the inspection, it was nice that I could log on and do some work during my short wait. Had a harmonic balancer and serpentine belt replaced today. I was quoted $412 when I brought the car into the shop. I okay-ed the work. When it came time to pick up the car, they said that it needed an extra hour of labor and charged $589. Shocked and very disappointed. It is almost 40% more than the original quote. I will not be going back here again. I FELT CHEATED WHEN I WALKED OUT OF THE SHOP. Future customers, please ask yourself these questions before leaving your car here: 1. TLDR: Don't take any car here. Poor management, poor quality checks, poor quality of parts. 1.Improperly performed oil change 2. All oil leaked 3. Car seized 4. Owner unwilling to pay any damages 5. Have not heard from owner/impossible to get in contact I took my new car to this location solely for the fact that our maintenance plan required us to have the oil change performed here. On October 19, the car had a routine oil change (there was no inspection done after the oil change, just pulled out of the garage). On October 20 at 9pm, the car seized on the hwy (very dangerous). Turns out that there was no oil left in the engine. I had the car towed to an official Toyota dealership to get a third party inspection because engine seizing will severely decrease the life of a car and could even total it all together. I had to walk to a rental agency at 7 AM on October 21st in order to get a car to get to work. When I called Midas that day I informed the employee that I would be taking the car to a Toyota dealership for inspection. The employee said that was "fine." He also did not allow me to speak to a manager/owner prior to me acting on that decision. The Toyota dealership concluded that the O-Ring was torn around the oil filter cap, which caused all of the oil to leak from the car. The O-Ring was installed by Midas at their Allen location. I incurred $300 in additional fees from Midas lack of quality in their parts and/or their ability to even perform a simple and routine oil change. The worst part is that I informed the Owner, Alex of all of the trouble that I had to go through because of his shops negligence. Alex's response is to blame the manufacturer of the O-Ring and is refusing to pay for any of the costs that I have incurred because of the poor quality of his shops work (not even a refund for the oil that I payed for at his shop has been issued). It is now December 13th, almost two months since the incident and I have not heard from Alex in over a month. I have contacted the shop every week to get in contact with him but he is always 'on vacation' or 'away today.' I find that Alex's lack of ownership for the mistakes that his shop has made combined with the poor quality of the services/parts that they are using should make any one consider taking their car anywhere else. In my opinion, you are better off spending a little more and having your car serviced at the dealership. I have contacted Midas corporate and will be contacting the BBB about this issue and will update appropriately. Alex had plenty of time to make this situation right as an owner, but clearly failed to do so. read more

As a young woman I often find myself in a tough place when needing help with my car (thank goodness my dad is able to come with me) but since adulting is rocking my world I have had to do a lot to my car recently and got it all done/looked at by these guys. I bought a used Subaru Forester that turned out to have many issues. I called around and Alex was the only one who was pleasant on the phone. The rest seemed like I was wasting their time. After fixing an oil leak, broken radiator, alternator and alignment, my Subaru is running like a gem, even a few months later.
