I guess the rest of my review didn't save. For a simple oil change. 2 parts around the air filter chamber were not put back in to place and after the car was still running poorly I checked the air filter which was also not connected at all. Owner replied saying in no way was my car running poorly due to the oil change they did yet they took the air filter out and did not reinstall it correctly which was the whole problem! I just hope it doesn't cause more issues down the road. I'll stick with my 1 star because there is no negative star option but this place should be shut down or hire people that actually know how to work on vehicles read more

welk, again, Midas ,Abilene Texas has gone above and beyond my expectations . faulty door switch for windows. I thought it was the last visits but something completely different. They are replacing it for free. I am so grateful for that because I am low on funds now..... I went in for an oil change and was greeted professionally by the manager David. I didn't have to wait long for my service. I normally have to wait for over 1 hr at most places but not here at Midas. They explained everything they did to my car and informed me of the things that I might need for my next oil change. They didn't hound me on buying extra stuff. This was my 4th location to stop at for a break change, reason why I decided to stop here, was because over the phone I told them what I needed, the man was straight forward no BS and I liked that. I don't have the time or want to be told what I need to buy and do with my vehicle, I say what I want and what I need and I'm not paying a dime extra. I have no time to argue or haggle over a service that I want and am paying for, This man got down my info and within 10 min or so I was told my breaks were in good shape and that sometimes they squeal due to being dirty, they didn't charge me an arm and a leg, they didn't try to sell me everything in their shop, they didn't try to give me the run around or con me. Straight forward honest and didn't try to make a buck. I'll be coming here from now on for all my vehicle maintenance. read more

I hate to leave a bad review for a business but as a future customer you should consider another place to have your services done. I planned to buy a set of tires here and went as far as heading to get them after being told they had them in stock and me telling them I wanted them. Requested an estimate online and was informed someone would respond within 4 hours. I never heard from them the entire day. The following day, I went back online to schedule an appointment and was informed someone would contact me within 30 "business minutes," and I never heard from anyone the rest of the day. I then tried to call, and received a message that the Verizon customer was unavailable. I assume this Midas location (Abilene, TX) does not want my business. They are not trustworthy as they will not follow up as promised and can't be reached. read more

I've been using Midas for years for a variety of different repairs. The shop here in Abilene and the one in San Angelo have been nothing but good to me. Their work has also been very thorough and reliable. I've had oil changes, engine work, I've bought tires, had alignments done.... This visit was for another alignment. I completely replaced all my shocks, struts, and steering components on my 4x4. It's was driving like someone else was steering the car. An hour later, everything was back to normal. Once again, I drove away happy. Only complaint would be the coupon I showed them when I came in was not applied. I should have showed it when checking out. However, the work is always so good, I won't complain too loudly. Lol!!! read more

That Saturday morning, on March 11th already seemed like a very long day. I had just left Pep Boys where I scheduled an alignment only to find out my vehicle needed several things done to it before getting the alignment done. Aside from the $2,000. price tag I got from Pep Boys I did not have the 8 hours to get the work done. So I drove over to Midas for a second opinion. I once had tires replaced at a Midas in Austin and was impressed with their work so I thought I'd give the Abilene location a try. I advised Brandon that I had just left Pep Boys and wasn't able to get an alignment on my vehicle because of some problems like needing control arms replaced and new shocks. And was wondering if a mechanic could take a look at it. My vehicle definitely needed those items replaced and after giving Brandon the go ahead a mechanic went to work on it. I was so impressed while waiting to see the number of customers coming in to get work done on their cars and trucks and not be turned away even though it was obvious that they were swamped with work. Midas closes at 3 and my vehicle was completely finished for $1500. and in less than 5 hours. I understand how important it is to make an appointment to have work done. Just the fact that they were able to do the job the same day made quite an impression. I highly recommend this auto service location for all your auto needs, except Transmission work, they don't work on Transmissions. Today one of my crew said that his "Whip" was had some bad sounds coming from under carriage. He checked it out and came up with just the people to handle the job. Midas! Did a drop off and went about our day. Work was completed well before noon. They broke off our top to the oil after an oil change and didn't tell us and oil leaked out and smoked the engine and we lost most of the oil. They didn't rotate our tires properly so they wore on the outside of the tires causing us to have to buy new tires in a mere three months...Discount Tires educated us on that knowledge. We had Midas install a car battery a year ago and it is already dead...still under warranty and are charging us $159 to replace EVEN with the warranty. Walmart is just $79. Going to Walmart. I would give them 0 stars if I could! I brought my car to them because my AC was not blowing at all not hot or cold and it would stop working then work again for a few months now. The man I had look at it said it could be blower motor or something else. I took it to them, they charged me $1300 to get a new compressor. Not even a few weeks after that my car is doing the SAME thing I brought it in for. I called them they said they were busy I could bring it in some other day, I explained it may start working again by then it's been doing this. So, I it stops working a second time after that supposedly fixed it. I don't even call I go straight up there. They now tell me it's my blower motor. I said yes that was it was the first place and why I brought it to you but instead you charged me $1300 for a compressor I never needed (mind you my car isn't that old) the manager said he did not care I had to pay $400 on top of the compressor they changed for no reason. That was never the problem in the first place. Then LIED and said I brought bc it wasn't blowing cold... I did not I brought it because it kept working on and off when it worked it blew cold just fine! I know what's going on with my car and I keep up with it well. I asked for the manager he said he was the manager I asked for who was above him he said I can't reach them. I ask for corporate number he refused to give me it told me to look it up. I came over for ac check on 10/26. Technician checked and told that shredder valve only need to be replaced and they did ac recharge and charged me 207 dollars and i have been told there is 90 days warranty. After 10 days it stopped working. I checked low pressure valve reading and it was close to green. I visited on 11/11 and they say found leak in main valve of compressor but there is no visible leak which i know i replaced that compressor last month only. Now low pressure is reading almost 0 looks like they dumped all free on that I paid for. Front desk guy was claiming that ac recharge was done months before - he was very rude. Also when service was done on 26th some one smoke cigar in my car which i am alergetic to. read more

On September 1st, 2017 my car was towed to Midas after an exhaust issued caused my car to be unable to start. Repairs were completed on September 5th. The car only lasted until September 14th at which time the motor blew a rod, when I had the car towed to a mechanic, he stated the motor blew, because Midas improperly installed the exhaust, crating blow back into the engine, because they left off a third cross over catalytic converter. After a lot of run around, I finally had to junk the car, and requested from Midas to refund the cost of the faulty installation, at which time I was told to have a lawyer contact them, and they refused to refund the service. read more

I love the service. Timely fashion, walk ins welcome, no matter the job, I've always been helped, never turned away. The prices are great. Cleanliness is phenomenal. Staff is respectable and very helpful. Not only as an individual, but as a woman. I go in, feeling confident that I'm not being pushed over, I always feel completely comfortable.
